You left out the part where The Walt Disney Co. acquired Marvel in 2009. The first Iron Man film was released in 2008. So basically all previous deals that have expired need to be re-negotiated. Disney owns Marvel AND the Star Wars franchise now.

Warner Bros., owned by Time Warner Inc., controls DC.

We've seen the official trailer to next year's The LEGO Movie. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. And Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman are in it because they're basically DC's characters.

Will we see Spider-Man, the Avengers, X-Men and other Marvel superheroes in it? Will Warner Bros. agree to a partnership with Disney? Does LEGO have what it takes to form a "business league" with the world's largest media and entertainment conglomerates? Only time will tell.
