Latest Asus Product Catalogue July-August still only have G56jr...Why?????

Doesnt make any sense their N series (N550jk) has a better graphics card than their 15inch gaming series!
*
G550 series is not ready for Malaysia market. U've to wait for another month or two.

I'm terrifying with the recent G-Series disassembly(G56JR) videos that requires prying the bottom plastic and the keyboard. Crazy innovation but not easy to maintain plus more prone to breaking the laptop if applied too much force.

G53/73/55/750 users should be grateful the design wasn't that bad as G56JR, and G550 also the upcoming GX500.

Haha, unimaginable eh? sweat.gif Wonder G-Series laptop service and re-pasting took some time due to not familiar with the laptop layout?
Those technician at BTOTech/GenTechPC truly understand how to disassemble G-Series Properly.

So if a combo of gaming and common usage, is it possible to keep up for 2 - 4 years?
*
Yes it is possible for normal usage and gaming. It could even last up to 5-6 years if it doesn't breakdown that easily. Just that bear in mind, you as the owner need to do some regular maintenance such as cleaning the fan, dusting the grills, and repaste for lower temperature.

Asus G550JK review is up at NBC.

Pros:
They heard us, implementing single hatch maintenance. There might be hope in GX500. nod.gif

Cons:
Equipped with GTX 850M GDDR3 instead of GDDR5 memory chips.

It should compete with other flagship and release with GTX 860M.

wow.. that's a much nicer layout for asus g-series laptops. it's like my xps.

maybe in real-world gaming purposes, 850m is good for performance/cost ratio, compared to 860m. (i cannot think of any valid reason other than this one)

one thing to note is that the gpu's at this range tend to age faster. for long-term common usage it should be good.

Still from G56JR onwards, the G Series are merely re-badged Black ROG Version of N Series except for G750.

lol it's sad that they keep re-badge these units.. lucky they got a few flagship models that qualifies for their name.. and it's too many models already easily can confuse people lol.

its a shame Asus ROG lost its originality in innovation for Laptop ROG Lineup.

This might be another on-off issue (My laptop is 3 years anyways) and it is happening as I am typing this out.

Turned my laptop on then browse Fb/manga/etc for about 10 minutes and suddenly my fan started blowing rather strongly or should I say the fan speed suddenly increased like mad.

Laptop is not even hot or anything at all. Been gaming on D3 and MW3 heavily tho. But that was in air-conditioned room most of the time.

Weird. *will turn my laptop off in a while and we shall see*
*UPDATE*

After a 'reboot', the fan decided to be normal again. Another wild-and-weird electronic bug appeared! No performance drop/rise, temperature normal everything normal.
*
My G53 was acting like that. Thus i decided on dismantle and replace thermal paste and clean up the vents.
YOU should be doing that by now.

the performance of ram at the same range is kind of the same in real world usage.
different apps show different outcomes. atto might be able to show you that it's 555MB/s.
*
well his question is quite vague.
And those higher end 1866 ram stick are recommend to be pair with those higher end processor like i7-4900. It will not impact much on i7-4700.
Benchmark will show different due to the operating system and its activity in the background as well and also the hardware.

I usually charge RM30 for this. Good thermal paste are cooler master, clay form, for cpu and gpu. Never use RM3 thermal paste.. some people give me that and i throw it away.  I've done this in my university.  icon_rolleyes.gif  but if you're far away from me, i cant do that. you have to learn and take risk.

Anyone know where can i get the screw  for g750JH ? i guess all g750 are using the same screw size.  I need it to help my customers to recover their lost screw.
I mean chassis screw. full set if possible for me is useful.

Some comes in different length depends on which location.
