Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone is working or has worked at NTT MSC (KL & Cyberjaya branch). I've been offered a position there and would appreciate some feedback on the working environment there as well as its provided benefits, training, career opportunity, etc. NTT's HR has already strongly emphasized that it's a Japanese environment and long working hours' expected, tardiness, workload. I'm fine with all of these but hopefully some1 can share their experience of working there. Thanks in adv!

My company's group is one of NTT's customers, true to the HR's word, it's a very Japanese and efficiency is a virtue. I'm sure you can learn a lot there.

Aside from the pay...good self discipline learning ground...haahhaah...

discipline in japanese company is the highest rank.

I got interviewed by someone in NTT MSC via telephone and he was very rude to me. I don't mind and i'm not shocked about his attitude. He might get dumped from his girl or something and he has to do all those interviews stuffs by himself. Pity him..anyway NTT MSC is a good company to build your career for those who love networking engineering field..

my friend is an ex-employee there.he said the work environment is completely japanese culture, 5S applied and must work beyond office hours,OT cannot claim,they will know you are workaholic when you are stressed until like wanna die.

Hmm. Not sure about NTT, but if you are a strong network guy experience in CISCO router/swtiches, with CCNA/CCNP. Then I can offer u a better job, in Singapore. Network Engineer level 1/2/3 for their command centre.

i think nolah..cause the HR girl offer me working shift 12 hours only...after finished can go home sleep.........what u mean 5S applied???....Hazermi...is the company paying high...lots of benefit????...tell me all..i belanja u makan....

it's a japanese company style as mentioned in first post. networking knowledge is a MUST.
if you working under global segment (under ntt com* indirectly), expect workhard, self study, self dicipline.

i have had done my research about the career advancement
if u were talking about increment,then i guess u have to be patience
since it does not offer spiral pay hikes
but if u were asking whther once u grab all the knowledge in one area
and would like to get some other exposure in other area
yes,they would give u a chance but in one condition,if the other dept
have the vacancy too fill u in...

Nope, I have not started. I went through the 2nd interview last week. I'll only be signing the offer letter next week.

in NTT MSC just got 1 team very good environment to work and learn. that call GINNOC or IP backbone team.team manager is local people with very good network skills and the team member is willing to teach every single thing. otherelse especially under Japanese manager that sucks!Japanese who came here is stupid and like rubbish who cannot use in Japan. NTT Com send rubbish to NTT MSC and politic in corporate office also very terrible, operation will follow what HR said. That very strange. Discrimination on contract and outsource staff in NTT MSC. HR very langsi! Remember! Just accept only for backbone team for NTT MSC, the manager will fight for staff.

Too bad now, all permanent staffs under this Global Operation has been sold (transition) to Emerio (NTT Com subsidiaries). So think about it, and you know how Emerio is.

This company is suck. I bet u will regret if join this company. All these japanese will threats u like a robot. Most of their policies are nonsence. You can't talk much with your colleague (imagine that). They create stress work environment.

Like kukun said, only GIN team is the place u can learn much. Others, are sucks. If you have experience in network, try other company. NTT is very stingy with everything. And very outdated compare to other IT company in Cyberjaya. Trust me, recently they just produce VOIP product to their client. Haha..

In terms of benefit, Emerio is paying low. If you are hired by NTT, you won't get good medical coverage. The insurance covered for staff only. Excluded your family.

These are only some of it. For me i don't recommend to my friend. Overall, US based company is still better. U feel stress with your work but here you feel stress with the workplace/ environment.

Are you sure?last week went for an interview there but the HR Lady inform that the medical for staff include your extended families(spouse and kids)?

I am a former employee of NTT MSC. Back when I was there, usually outsource staff from emerio that works at NTT MSC have fewer benefit such as no salary increment and least coverage of medical benefits.

The working environment was like other Japanese company. They expect you to sit on your desk during working hours although there was no job to do. Listening music was not allowed during working hours. I heard that HP provided gym, pool table and etc to their employees but there was not even a proper pantry when I was back there. They combined a meeting room with the pantry, so when there was a meeting in that room, the employees were not able to use the pantry. I heard they had completed new buildings, so there might be some changes around there.

I am totally agreed with kukun, nanba and guest987123. This is just an opinion that can vary base on personal experience. Hope this will help.

I am at NTT but my good & hardworking staff had resigned, the reason is the Japanese suck and no ball to fight for staff even the staff is senior and hardworking staff. If you under Local manager, they are more better than Japanese. But this company is suck. If you want to learn more thing, then you trade it as a school. Don't stay longer. Poor increment (2~4%). Boss always said to all team member same result when asking about the increment.(answer is you are the higher in team).
If you joint as long term then u will regret. All these japanese will threats u like a robot. Most of their policies are nonsense stress work environment.

yup , really have to wish you luck. I was one of the NTT staff... they're getting worse, mass resignation, yearly increment 3% max low basic, you don't expect to get promote because always japanese are on top. Those who're going to interview wish you luck

im receiving a call just now from hr regarding my application. i've been offered for IT Engineer position and the basic salary lower than my current salary but the fixed allowance offered is high .. this position require me to on site support at customers site .. still thinking about it bcoz i prefer to be specialize in network .. hmhm

i got a call from them few days ago for a network/server engineer. funny thing is that a job description was sent to me with a question of how much my current salary?

then he offered me a package saying no bonus with 12days AL and 14 days MC. That is a bit odd right?

i told no and demanded alot more, he said no at first and then said okay when i said i will have to decline his offer..

anyone else going for this position? any recommendation/suggestions?

This company has become worst better dont work here guys.

Benefit.

1. Transport allowance 420
2. Hp allowance 160
3. Cert allowance eg CCNA rm60
4. Medical cover spouse and kids. For outpatient no medical card. Pay 1st claim later.
5. Dental n optical 500
6. Al 1st 2 yrs 14 days.

Cons

1. Management sucks. Want to sell services that dont even setup properly. And if escalate things will u turn back to staff.

2. CEO seriously dont know anything. Listen to his two clown "father n son".

3. If I remember correctly more than 10 staff aldy resigned this year including senior staff. Also 2 new staff just lasted 3-4 months only.

4. A good technical Japan staff sent back to Ntt Com. The one who come here just a clown.

5. New staff to resign needs 2 months notice.

6. HR Dept 5 staff, Backbone team 1 staff. Wtf is happening when a telco company only have 1 staff in BB dept.

7. Everytime KPI only average although you work extremely excellent. Manager wont backup you.

8. Basic very low. Some guys with 3 yrs exp still below 3k.

ive been working there before. still worst company ever, nothing good on the job itself. if u going to join technical team, think 1000times. they will kill your skill. as netwotk, nothing much you could learn, everything is bad. lots of device are obselete, no support from principal, juniper cisco fortigate, most of equipment with no maintenance contract with technical expert. vendor also know nothing. end up u not learn, but clear all the shit from sux manager. most manager there stupid, no skill except turbo fan skill, not listen to any suggestion to improve from stf. just stubborn n stupid plain. i work there less than a year.

Long OT hours, little pay compare to market, Japanese culture. that's what I heard, I never been in that company before.
I used to meet up with the sales staffs for a project, he seems like don't know a lot of things about what I need from a sales person.
However, you should give it a shot. It could be very subjective.

Signed an offer few days ago but now just went through the comment from lowyat. Is it really so scary working in NTT? Does NTT culture as similar as Huawei, ZTE? They offer a package which lower than my current one, but I heard NTT has a good platform to learn networking. Is it because the japanese boss does not appreciate our hardship? Please enlighten me. It sounds like the whole telco industry are sucks.
