If you guys going to stay in Ubud then try to get a room at Tegal Sari, it's good and it's facing paddy field too! I stayed there during my recent visit to Bali last month.

Verdict: Tegal Sari is a lovely place to stay in Bali; great location, impeccable service, spacious and clean rooms, friendly staffs! Do make your reservation in advance (at least 6 months in advance) as their rooms run out pretty fast.

P.s: Here’s the good news for Tegal Sari’s repeated guests: during our stay at Tegal Sari, new villas and rooms are under construction which I believe are going to be ready soon, so do keep an eye on it!

My previous visit in May 2013, i stayed the same room as yours hahaha..
No regrets, if i were to go Bali again definitely gonna stay in Tegal Sari unless i choose not to visit Ubud.

Also they provide free shuttle service from hotel to any place right up to the bridge after Ubud palace. So if you wanna go anywhere just ask they to drop you biggrin.gif
*
ooh yeah, I missed that out, they provide free shuttle but within selected area only. wanted to try the villa there one day! tongue.gif

No more 350k Lo. After petrol hike recently. I heard the hotel driver that sent us to the hotel said the petrol hike in September was 120% this time. I already booked Arief's friend for a day trip. I'll update again after the trip with him.
*
my trustee driver still charge me 350k.
last time 300k (last year).

free pickup from airport to hotel.
and free pickup from hotel to airport (complimentary).

i stayed 5d4n. first 2days took the tour.

sorry for the late reply.
i am a biker,
hence it runs in my blood of "rent a bike, full tank and get lost".
just ensure you got the whole updated map in ur hand.
i tend to have strong memory of which road i follow and landmark.
(which is very crucial. when u go riding on the bike. dont 100% concentrate on the road, take ur time and check ur surrounding)

you have alot of time to do research.
if its the first time for u in bali.
i suggest u take the tour guide.

its my second time there,
also i do know some local bikers.
hence, if i really lost.
i can just give them a call and they can help me smile.gif

Not sure how much, but its not very far from airport. Actually the best time for jimbaran dinner is around 6pm to 7pm, sunset time., if around 8pm its all pitch black.

Apart from serving American and barbecue food, Naughty Nuri’s also serve local Indonesian food. For those who do not know, Naughty Nuri’s is famous for its unbelievably wicked, delicious and juicy pork ribs.

Verdict: This is the best place for rib lovers to go to in Bali. Food was good, service is friendly and environment is great for dining. I will definitely come back when I travel to Bali again.

Read more on my blog if you want to check out more on Naughty Nuri's : here

I've just made a reservation for Tegal Sari. Would like to seek advise on making payment to Tegal Sari via TT

1) What are the additional bank charges that will be charged to me (for both the M'sian sending bank and the Indonesian recipient bank)?

2) It was mentioned that "You could transfer the payment in your currency and will be converted into Rupiah, therefore, due to foreign exchange discrepancy we may receive less or more. If we receive less, the balance could be paid at Tegal Sari.

Is it possible to remit IDR to them? So that at least I know what is the FOREX gain/loss on my side before remitting the money.

3) How long does it take for the recipient bank to receive the payment?

Thanks!

I remember they have CIMB bank account if i didnt mix up with other hotel. So if you have CIMB you can transfer to their CIMB without charge. It will reach them within 1 working day compared to TT which need 3 days.

I also remember that i transfer using IDR which require alot of information such as IC of the beneficiary etc etc.

Maxis line roams very well in Bali, almost full coverage at all the tourist attractions I went to. You will be roaming on a local Indonesian telco line which Maxis is linked to (forgot which one).

So well in fact that I had to pay roaming charges for spam from Maxis mad.gif vmad.gif.

Thanks a lot for the info saimatkong & mugenz!

I've successfully made the payment via TT smile.gif Don't think they still use the CIMB Bank account to receive payments from their guests. Transferred to their Bank Mandiri account instead. Funds transferred by the next working day. Was charged MYR10 by our local bank and IDR15,000(appox MYR 4.50) by the Indonesian bank

No doubt payment by credit card is more convenient, they required that I send a photocopy of my passport to them together with the credit card authorization form. Didn't feel comfortable sending my passport details to strangers tongue.gif
