Orchid Seed = no flaws, from my experience so far. Sculpting, along with Max Factory, are among the best i have seen. But, their best are always X-rated figures. If u buy those normal figures by them they are not good. Their expertise is X-rated figures, especially castoff-able ones.

That kuroyukihime is by Chara-Ani, a company i wont recommend. And those hipsters sure dont have any better ideas in choosing a pose, look at this Erio, by Taito.

lol no wonder. mine non x-rated. can castoff until underwear only but the ones i got the coloring damn inconsistent, and i heard the sonico also got problem? but your favourite is your favourite anyway.
what is the best orchid seed figure you got?

I have nearly 80% orchid seed figures release up to date, but i couldn't be bother to show any.

I dun have many orchid seed figures yet, 3 only, but my experience with them, including handling my friend's, they are really good.
Which Sonico specifically? I have the Bondage version (Black) which has no problems at all. To be honest, the first batch is always the best in quality, and applicable to almost any brand. They need to create a good impression among figure reviewers and owner feedback to drive post-release sales. If you really like a figure, preorder. Doesnt matter if u end up paying more. there are higher chances that you will get a good quality one. But, this concept is based on what character and what company the figure is from. For characters, Miku = bargain bin/over production is common, except exclusives. Alleyne from Queens Blade = always sold out.

i don't think it's a batch problem. almost all the orchid figure i see myself are under or over colored, and the sculpt also detail problem sometimes.
but those are the normal non premium x-rated ones and quite a long time ago too.
maybe they improved and i am just being picky. we're free to like what we like.

That is probably the reason. Older figures, and non premium X-rated ones. They dont treat that kind of figures well.

The anime is definitely worth watching. As for Honda Futayo herself, i like her a lot as a character but i have 2nd thoughts on preordering one.
Ah, the senran kagura girls, their figures have been pathetic so far.

So why do you then rate orchid seed so highly? You've judging them based on a select few lewd figurines that they did particularly well?

I'm with Dasaru on this, the majority of orchid seed's releases are nowhere close to the quality of GSC and Alter releases. But yeah, everyone is free to like what they like, so let's agree to disagree.

And yes, Alter, GSC blah have their lemons too, quite a few as well.

Yes, orchid seed's girls are normally 'meatier' than those from other companies

I don't mind that really, what irks me more is that they are very inconsistent.

The last three releases I got from them was kurumu (which I liked), nurse sonico (with her oversized head ) and bride ignis (not unboxed yet, seems very decent).

Not really into outright ero stuff, so can't comment on those, but I do feel that when it comes to PO-ing Orchid Seed stuff, I don't really know what I'll end up getting.

As opposed to a company like Alter, which I know more often than not won't disappoint, or even Kotobukiya which will often be decent but unspectacular.

That's because all the Orchid Seed figures i have purchased (including helping my friends buy), has no faults. Im quite a picky person if u read my posts regularly here, and i complain about this and that, because i tend to notice very small faults. But y experience so far, no such thing. I tried to look for faults bit couldnt find any. But all the purchases i made so far, are X rated ones, and rather expensive - 8800yen or higher.

I havent bought Alter stuff much lately, they are not making what i want (in terms of characters). As for GSC and its partners, i personally find Max Factory to be the best when it comes to PVC. Even GSC screws up more than Max.

Orchid Seed has always been on the expensive side lar, 7420 yen was quite a fair bit for a PVC four years ago!

The last GSC release i got was undersized! Meh! Can't remember her name though... the heroine from guilty crown.

Inori. GSC seriously farked that figure up that i was so pissed. Inori is one of my favorite anime character and they screwed up her. Aside from size, the skin color, she looks like she have jaundice (read up hepatitis, if u dont know what it is), skin is too yellow. And no one else is making a figure of Yuzuriha Inori. I want a big one, 1.7 or 1/6.

she looked real good in the promo shots too right. lol.

All promo shots are slightly photoshopped, not just GSC, but every company, and photos are taken in a studio set up. The skin color on the actual figure looks nothing like the promo shots. The leotard dress is also more orangish instead of reddish as in the promo shots.

actually she looked good in mikatan's blog too. i believe the prototype colours were much better, and they took great care to not have any photos of her next to anything else to hide her smallness.
