QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ Jun 19 2013, 02:11 PM) Where got rich.. it's just how much of your salary you are willing to allocate for hobby only (mine used to be 45% last time, then after pay gone up, become 1/3 of monthly salary) I VOLUNTEER! lol.Hmm depends.. if I think I can't keep them anymore, most probably will just give the figures to people who can take care of them. Of course I'll try to find a wife who does not mind my hobby |

well yes craftsmanship(painting and sculpting) goes into the price as well but size also has a factor (not much but still got) like the difference between 1/6 and 1/10. and a loli 1/6 is smaller than adult 1/6.
heck even the base can make a price difference. This post has been edited by DaSaru: Jun 19 2013, 05:15 PM |

scales are weird. it's supposed to follow the characters so a loli figure should be small unless it's a giant loli..
I remember kotobukiya got complained their scale are really small and they made it bigger afterwards. |

QUOTE(Poodlepaddly @ Jun 19 2013, 08:19 PM) Very nice. A very detail version of psylocke. Is this newly launch or from the past? Never seen this sculp before. Feels like owning one new version coming in december i think. should be big too as the previous one got complained too small. i like big figures. XD |

@orestes..yeah..don't know what ruler they were using. thankfully fixed a bit. they made it larger and say it 1/7 now. but rogue looks so small compared to the newer ones now. hope gets updated.
@madmoz..yeah scales are different according to company, but people still use it as a basic guideline for size. if say 1/8 and then size macam 1/10 for sure people rage. lol. i think the perception of figurine collector as rich faq comes from the common thinking of "ei just plastic figures why so expensive and wanna collect so many". even some people ask how much is the figure i bought i usually underprice or say i forgot.. the 'figurine collectors are pervert" thinking cannot avoid since you can see the figures also..but i myself only collect sexy figures instead of hentai figures. |

QUOTE(KajumaO2 @ Jun 20 2013, 10:52 AM) Whatever People collect I'd tend not to comment [NOMYB], due to the fact of free will. i'm not saying it's true, i'm saying people think that. read the whole sentence please. If people start indirect BS comment on others people hobbies, they should look in the mirror before they judge. Saying goes what comes around goes around @DaSaru "figurine collectors are pervert" so your saying people who collect guns are psycho? This post has been edited by DaSaru: Jun 20 2013, 10:55 AM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jun 20 2013, 11:03 AM) from what i have seen for the kotobukiya shunya cosplay releases, they tend to be on the smallish side, and tend to look a lot better in their promo shots than in real life. hmm from the shunya kotobukiya i have the scale difference not really noticeable, but when you compare to the yamato ones then you'd notice.but then again imho kotobukiya's always been run of the mill. like megahouse. nothing spectacular, but nothing extremely poorly made either. consistently average lol. agree about kotobukiya being consistently average. |
