alexng2208 explanation allow you to switch between the quickpanel and notification. What i meant is you can have the same notification+quickpanel as 4.1.2.

What are you? Some RNG?  tongue.gif

Yes i HATE your fav feature cos i like everything in one dropdown. I dun see why we need to switch the dropdown page cos its kinda time wasting and i need to conserve the energy of my fingers for some uhm other fingering works.  brows.gif
*
Yes I don't like the split notification and panel. That's one of the reasons I swapped back to TW. Didn't bother fingering brows.gif further.

hooh888 and even the rest of us. Perhaps app building is easier with tools like this. I recall there was some Stanford site that also let you build your own mashup app with simple functions.

Bootstrap your next Android Application
http://www.androidbootstrap.com/

Why was this developed?

To help get new Android applications off the ground quickly with minimal effort. To get an application built with this toolset could easily take 1-3 weeks with developing, debugging and hacking (depending on experience level within the android ecosystem). Android Bootsrap and its app generator eliminates the need for this work.

What nefarious app building are you up to now?

Actually WTA, what kind of target model are you building for, or are you using the new SDK with all the possible resolutions on preview?

Haha even worse lockdown than crapple. Now we see the true face of Micro$oft in the mobile arena. They actually hate the open-ness of the Wintel platform and have been trying to lock it down for the last 20 years.

Lockdown here means 1 device to 1 licen$e, with no hope of transfer. Getting there with UEFI on the desktop, and looks like they've achieved it on mobile.

Android FTW.

BTW all I added another guide to ADB and logcat in post 12, under ADB. Very visual guide full of screenshots etc.

BTW all, XDA has an upcoming series of articles about Google and User Privacy, and perhaps a reduction in being reliant on the Play Store.

Prep article
www.xda-developers.com/android/say-sayonara-to-google-apps/

Excerpt:
.......
Over the course of this series of articles, we’ll look at ways you can move away from being so heavily reliant upon Google services. At all times, we’ll try to use Open Source solutions, which are free to use and modify. As a bonus for security, open source code is able to be scrutinized by anyone who wants to take a look at it. Per the popular Open Source advocate’s expression, “Many eyes make all bugs shallow,” which tends to improve security.

In the upcoming first article of the series, we’ll take a look at how to reduce our reliance on the Google Play Store and why we’d want to do that.

waiting 4.2.2. no point update 0.0.1  tongue.gif

No idea about the icon pack tongue.gif

I think you should update to 4.1.2 since it has the exynos SDS fix. Your name is Jorga?

I read somewhere that the HTC 4.2.2 update finally allows you to have the battery icon percentage or some insignificant feature. This means that HTC removed a lot of useful stuff from the stock UI, then when they release it you go "whoooo".

Fuuuhhh..... Canada has 3 year contracts with $500 penalty fees !!!!!

Canada finally able to escape three-year contracts, caps data overages at $50/month
http://www.androidcentral.com/canada-final...verages-50month

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission today announced that starting December 2, 2013, those of us up north will be able to cancel our contract after two years without penalty, that domestic data overage charges will be capped at $50/month ($100 for roaming), and that devices will be able to be unlocked after 90 days (or immediately if bought outright). The new code also stipulates that buyers will have 15 days to return any device so long as it's within certain usage limits, have the power to accept or decline mid-term contract changes, and that they'll have a contract they can actually understand. These changes are all a result of public hearings that happened back in February.

This, in short, is freakin' sweet. The code will apply to all of the major carriers. For those unfamiliar, three-year contracts are currently the norm up here, and early termination fees in the past have been as high as $500. Right now, we've got a kind of pro-rated system where carriers factor in the initial subsidy provided for your device and how much longer you've got left on your contract in order to calculate how much customers need to cough up to leave. This can still be pretty high.

Needless to say, I'm really, really pumped about these changes. We're waiting on statements from Rogers, Bell, and TELUS to see what they have to say about the new Wireless Code, but one can assume they won't be thrilled about it.

Even low end is now pretty powerful.

Cheap quad-core tablets heading our way, as MediaTek launches its new chip
http://www.androidauthority.com/mediatek-m...re-chip-220364/

MediaTek has released a new quad-core processor, named the MT8125, which will be targeted for use in tablets. Compared with other big chip manufactures such as Samsung, Nvidia, or Qualcomm, MediaTek processors tend to be cheaper, meaning that we might soon see a few more reasonably priced quad-core tablets and smartphones.

The new processor is built from four in-order ARM Cortex A7 cores, meaning that it’s not going to be an absolute powerhouse when it comes to processing capabilities. The MT8125 will instead be an energy efficient solution that still has enough juice to power through the most commonly used applications.

The processor will be clocked at an acceptable 1.5 GHz, making it a faster chip than other cheap A7 based quad-cores, and the SoC will also come packing a multi-core PowerVR 5XT series graphics chip, so it won’t be a slouch when it comes to media either. Speaking of media features, the processor comes with Full HD video playback and recording compatibility, support for up to 13-megapixel cameras, and is compatible with Full HD displays, making it suitable for not just budget tablets.

As for other features, the MT8125 also includes MediaTek's 4-in-1 connectivity combo, which packs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM radio into a single integrated package. Another selling point for tablet and handset designers is that the chip will come in three network varieties, HSPA+, 2G EDGE, and Wi-Fi only versions, which are all pin-to-pin compatible, meaning that designers can easily interchange the chips without having to alter any other components. That way manufacturers can offer consumers a wider choice of products without incurring any additional costs.

==================

The A7 quad at that speed should be comparable to S3's performance. Comes with all the connectivity as well.

But syncing to Gdrive does not save the editable S-Note files, does it? The other reason I use HandyNote is also for portability and avoidance of lock in to Samsung.

But it seems htc doesn't want my money, the One has all kinds  of quality issues, judging from the XDA general thread. So i guess I'm stuck with the note 3 since Sony will most probably have a small batt on their phablet, all for the 'omnibalance' thing.
*
It provides omni balance to Sony's balance $heet coz with the $aving$ on battery they can have a healthier balance than you.

now latest intel processor called haswell right ? 4th gen intel core i3, i5 and i7 processor @@
sorry for a bit OT

ARM A15 been announced for quite a while, and Octa is based on A15.

Unless "Cortex A15" is something quite different?

Haswell is only about 10% better than Ivy Bridge, but up to 25% lower power consumption. Wait for the next generation. I'm sticking with my Z77 for now.

Maybe the Note 5 could get a nice Intel low power CPU tongue.gif
