QUOTE(shockw@ve @ Apr 29 2006, 09:20 AM) Firewall Software (LYN official software poll results & comments) AVG Internet Security
Note: Only one Personal Firewall should be installed to your system. This also includes the Firewall on Internet Security Suites. Always uninstall one before installing another. System Reboots required. Windows default Firewall should always be disabled when using a Personal Firewall software. Installing more than one Personal firewall could very much corrupt your Internet connection, cause very slow speeds or even corrupt Windows in general. If you have anything else that you would like to add to this list, please reply to this thread. |

QUOTE(havuk @ Dec 22 2009, 01:34 PM) dunno why you guys still bother with software firewall, when going out or travel we use USB HSDPA 3G modem on laptop, our modem/gateway/router already have good firewall. the USB modem does not has firewall. can't bring a router with us, a router need 230V power supply. so a software firewall is good. gateway/router's firewall is only a basic firewall for more sophisticated one you need a standalone hardware firewall. Company/organization's in-house webserver normally has a standalone hardware firewall. Anyone knows which shop in lowyat selling standalone hardware firewall? Am currently using an Untangle UTM as my firewall hardware at my home and office. Works wonder, not just as a firewall, but also as a router, web filter, phish blocker, spam blocker, IPS etc.

Hi i didn't see in the list, Look 'n' Stop Firewall which is a very fast easy to use firewall application that manages your local networks, controls applications that try to access the Internet and detects any intrusion attempts.
Here is the description page of it (homepage): http://www.looknstop.com/En/looknstop.htm |

I'm using Comodo Firewall for about a month so far. It has been a good firewall but quite annoying though with the pop ups.
