Guys, a question.. Im going to SG to check my accommodation. Is it cheaper to travel by car/train/flight from KL?
*
depending where you are in kl and where you plan to go in sg

QUOTE(rawrkun @ Aug 15 2013, 10:40 PM)
Do you guys know shop around jb that is like lowyat?
Im thinking of going there to shop this weekend..
Any mall with good price/ service and variety for techie stuff to recommend??
Never been there before....
Thanks in advance smile.gif
*
why dont buy at garage then cod with those in jb? but of course beware of criminals... jb is notorious

QUOTE(zephyrus9999 @ Aug 15 2013, 11:44 PM)
did alot comparison liao..

Bus 2 way at Rm113

Airasia currently got promotion, so to-fro will be Rm153 inclusive all charges

considering plane only takes 1 hour ==>total 2
bus 5 hours each ==> total 10.

The 8 hours that i can save definitely work the extra Rm40. Way to go air asia
*
u also have to cost in $$$ you need to go to airport, and also to travel from changi later... dont forget if you take budget you would always have to arrive much earlier, your luggage weight and volume is limited too..

Hi all sifu here , need all your advise here , recently I just get a offer to work in singapore , now the problem is the working permit , I refer to MOM website , they stated there requirement for foreigners to get permit in singapore , they need a minimum spm to get the permit .

For my case , I did not have spm , due to I have fail all my subject and not even have a credit subject .

I also did not have any diploma or degree in it .

But as for my current status , I have few proffesional cert for network security ( it line ) .as my position for company hire at singapore is network security engineer .

Is that any issue to get the permit with my proffesional cert .

Wait for all ur advise here
Thanks
*

Hi, I'm interested in working in Singapore but I simply just couldn't find any opportunity there. As recommended by the post, staying there might be easier but the expenses will be extremely high in while searching. Is there anyway to get a job in Singapore? By the way, I am a first class fresh graduate in major of Accounting and Finance

Guys, i found my accommodation at toa payoh and signed contract on the same day and came back, which is good. I wanna ask too, my rotation will be in batches of 6 months, and i may not know which country i will be sent after 6 months. So far i only see M1 mobile package that offers 6 months contract minimum, but sold at a premium price.. What do you guys think? I thought of getting a postpaid sim card with alot data, and double it as a modem for my laptop. Are there like any other options?
*
get dual sim by starhub i think... one for phone one for mobile internet/tablet.. using the same no.

as for the ctr period... i think they can freeze it

I have been looking at Singtel, now down to $15 business ione super value for work and $40 lite with lg Optimus g. Any opinion or advice? Thank you.

Do property usually utilities and Internet in the rent cost? Is it better for us to find it ourselves or get an agent?

Any website I can look at to estimate expenses?

Any recommendation on which bank I should use and any savings account with good interest rate?

Thank you everyone, I am fresh grad just got offer to work in sg so still pretty clueless.

My concern is the PR do have quota or not? If year end renew the risk will high or not?

Btw last year i had received a letter from ICA is a survey ask me interested to become singaporean or not. I don't reply the mail.

That why i very worry.  ohmy.gif

QUOTE(thelws @ Aug 21 2013, 05:58 PM)
For all of you here, if you really really want to get a job in singapore, you can always apply for macdonalds.

The life will suck and you will be at the bottom of the shit pile for a few years. But you will be able to get a work permit at least and then form there on you can hopefully find ways to find other jobs.

If you are really desperate and you want a way out, that's your answer. Macdonalds hire all the time and is willing to pay for your work permit (based on their recruitment drive last year)
*
please... i guess you dont know much about mcds sg... their employee are always happy and cheerful... i am from the f&b industry, i know them well

so pretty drool.gif if you know her story, you will take back your words... she flip burgers and serve kids, i roll sushi and mop floors... hopefully one day i can be like her wub.gif a lot of ppl look down on f&b workers like me, but we are doing a legal job and earning our $ through hardwork... hoping one day we might live a better life

For anyone interested there is an opening in a global bank for a credit analyst in the local sg corp team. Min requirement 6 years of credit writing and analysis. Must do operational work as well. Pay ~6k p.m. Pm yr resume if interested.

Disclaimer: i'm just helping a friend. I do not work in sg nor do i work in a bank. I do not derive any commission whatsoever. Like i say just helping a friend to look for an experienced credible CA.

Hi guys, I just graduated from the US and I'm now back in Malaysia. I did a degree is psychology and I've been doing research for 3 years. So I never had any internship/job experience. I decided not to do a phd and passed a couple of actuarial papers so I'm looking at doing an actuarial or analytical job as that allows me to analyze data which I love doing. Is it better to directly apply for a job at Singapore now right out of college or should I be more focused on getting a couple of years of experience in Malaysia first?
*
go sg straight away if you can, if not.. u got no choice but to work in msia lor...

It's quite common, in fact i think cabbies prefer to receive payment by NETS and EzLink - don't need to dig for small notes and coins. There is an admin fee of $0.30 for payment by EzLink, not sure whether it's the same charge for NETS though.

Any opinion on a good everyday account? Eg uob.

i still think scb is better... i made uob my primary acct coz it is my salary acct, mandatory from my coy... but if given a choice, probably scb..

my philosophy, get any card that gives you free gifts upon signing or great discounts at places you always go to.. some used to go for high rebates/cash back
