today just go KLCC maybank branch to apply for this card, but customer service(sit table one) there told me that my basic salary not yet reach 2.5K and require me to bring my degree cert and 6 months bank statement, although my basic salary 2.1K + allowance alrdy exceed 2.5K. And she don't look really friendly when i asking more about it. Anyone can advice on it? I thought i already work 3 years and no more in fresh graduate level but still require to see my degree cert? I alrdy prepare my epf statement to prove i earn more than 2.5K per month but she did not ask for it.

Go to other branch?
Or try with another personnel? Only one person working there?

few months ago i cancel the card because the card is like my water pipe... so was lucky to get some side income to cover it thats why my as well cancel it lor...

now its very hard for me to apply new cards because technically im not working for anyone so my monthly income is not really official,  sometimes high sometimes low i dont really have a consistant salary. But since mbb offering by reactivate and i can choose any card i like so my as well get some opinion form all the taiko here

Correction: Might as well

Well, I can't think of any better cards than M2Card, unless if you are a frequent overseas traveller and fulfill VISA Infinite's income requirement, that's also another good choice. smile.gif

Update my journey of permanent increase of credit limit:

1) Sent my latest 3 months payslip and EPF statement to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my on 24th September (Tuesday)
2) Received email to fill up the credit limit increase form on 26th September (Thursday)
3) Replied with the form on 27th September (Friday), after working hours
4) Received SMS that my permanent credit limit increase request has been approved on today.
5) Went immediately to M2U to check, it was indeed increased! biggrin.gif

Very pleased with Maybank's service, very fast. thumbup.gif

Though it was just slightly 2x of my current salary, maybe because I just got a car loan recently, that minuses a bit I think. biggrin.gif

Maybank really troublesome to get increase in CL. I myself also cannot get increase in CL because got no payslip but MBB without fail always accommodate my request for increase in temporary CL  smile.gif

On the other hand, Citibank keep offering my wife higher credit limit but in view of BNM guideline, Citibank cannot increase it without her consent. Last year they call her to offer the increase in CL for her PremierMiles VS and she rejected it. Today got a letter from Citibank again offering my wife increase in CL and accepting the offer by her simply sending them a SMS. And the thing is, they want to increase her CL to almost as high as mine and my wife got no income and Citibank is well aware of that because when she applied the card she stated that she is a housewife!!!  FYI, my wife applied for her Citi PremierMiles VS when she had CitiGold status 2 years back.
*
Well, Maybank is infamous for this. Not generous in giving CL as well. shakehead.gif

Good that Citibank is being nice to your wife. I hope the bank will contact me to give me increase in CL. laugh.gif
But I don't have Citibank personal card, only corporate card given by company. hmm.gif

I'll be in overseas soon for 2-3 months, that's why need to increase all my cards' CL just in case if I need to swipe for urgent purposes.

Just checked my email. They sent me an email this morning, saying will forward my request to the respective unit for their further attention.

Just few hours after that, got approved and increased immediately. thumbup.gif

Hi. Nowadays. If pay insurance for maybank etiqa on saturday still entitle 5 times points and 5% cash back? Anyone with experience can explain? Thanks
*
Couldn't confirm on the 5% cash back as that totally depends on merchant's transaction date.
But insurance is 2x and not 5x now.

Unless you can use Amex on weekend to get the 5% rebate otherwise only earns 2x TP.
*
That's what I said earlier, I cannot comment on the 5% rebate because that is solely depended on merchant's transaction time.

Is the AMEX card good for online purchase from overseas? example ebay or amazon... is the exchange rate also bad?
*
AmEx exchange rate is always worse to be compared with VISA or MasterCard.

may i know how much will be charged if i use amex at paypal?

i heard that need to call maybank if i want to use amex at paypal, is that right?

what is the conversion rate if i pay twd using paypal, comparing to visa or master, which one is cheaper?
*
No service charge, just currency conversion difference.

Ya, it seems these days need to call Maybank but when I registered mine more than 2 years ago, I didn't need to call them. smile.gif

I cannot tell you the conversation rate, it depends on banks.
