WTF.. just now my phone stop responding with blue inductor on. Power button.. combo button also no respond and I thought SDS but after pull out battery the phone able to turn on.. .. why not SDS...

Guys that got SDS.. it is the Blue indicator turn on without blinking?

SDS stand for Sudden Death Syndrome and this is a common term use nowadays to indicate a phone die without noticed.

For Samsung S3 it was very common to early batch from May 2012 to late Jun 2012, in short those who brought during launch date. So far no concrete root cause and many speculate following:-

1. Only effecting early batch from May 2012 to late Jun 2012 but many early batch still running strong.
2. Many said due to insane Chip in early set but this is only one developer speculation base on information gathered.
3. Many said due to overnight charging but smart phone should cut off when charge is full.
4. Many believe latest 4.1.2 will fix the problem but some believe harm already started and FW upgrade will only slow them down.
5. Many said latest MOBO eliminate the problem but someone who change MOBO to latest version M.P. 1.5 die twice.
6. Many scared and sold their phone in early stage.
7. Many hope to get SDS before warranty expired, like me    but no luck.  
8. Many said due to Custom ROM but Stock user also facing the same problem.

Yes but your phone already injured by last version and newest version may stop from new injury but not cure the old one.

i need make backup + format system (everything gone in phone storage)

wipe data / factory reset in cwm main page is didn't wipe internal memory
*go mount and storage > format / system > everything inside your internal memory gone = whole android OS gone

don't confuse it, and in my previous post I did mention is format system, not factory reset

hi guys..just got my s3 for a month..after 2years using galaxy s..

i believe sds only affects the earlier batch. If you just got it recently i think you're save from it as they're using the newer motherboards. Go check out what motherboard you're having now. If its MP 1.4 or 1.5 then you're safe..

Any good custom ROM with multiwindow support (just noting, not sure if all custom ROMs have this) that you guys used for your daily driver?

So which mean the back case is not the problem but the battery is the cause, is it?  So how much is the price of  original battery?

new bootloader fix the sudden death issue
go google XXELLA bootloader for s3 to download

here are the list's of my complain to them

1. Intermittent data connection
    - Switch off data and swittch on, then become ok
    - Problem repeats
2. Very often phone shows no signal for a moment and then back to normal
3. Messaging application crash very often
4. Same duplicate application at task manager as though the OS unable to manage the tasks
5. Phone lagging massively
6. When reboot "contacts" icon become missing from the main lock screen

so they told me some damage to mobo. ask me not to charge the phone overnight...

Finally happy for the new mobo and must not charge overnight after this.
