i realize touch wiz rom no longer have rom control to control the led notification. it blink too slow, and no nice fading effect.

there are several apps in play store.
i no time to try one by one,

which is the best one that you guys recommend for samsung rom? just let me know the name. many thanks.

kies has been known to be unreliable for all samsung phones.

i would avoid using samsung apps like calendar, memo etc.

use 3rd party notes like color notes or google keep, where it sync with google account
your contacts merge with google account so it will sync with google as well.

can you can open and close your camera app.
can it proceed to more than 20 times opening and closing continuously?

look through liquid smooth rom, actually any aosp rom, just search "connect to camera" in xda thread, also will have some people cannot get the camera to work consistantly.

i just installed latest nightly for aokp and cm.
sadly the camera can only be used few times before it fc and can't connect to camera error again.
it sucks for me....for some reason my phone cannot use aosp rom without camera issue. vmad.gif

imagine there is a beautiful moment you want to capture

suddenly camera error, have to reboot. takes about 50 seconds to be able to launch camera again.
by the time the camera reloads, the beautiful moment gone already. unsure.gif

here's the awesome app that can 'fix' the camera issue. previously i tried, but it only work once, and subsequent use of it is useless.

i realize the reason is superuser permission. the default SU manager in aokp did not grant SU for that app. need to install SuperSU by chainfire in play store.

after superSU give that app SU permission, it work flawlessly.
everytime if encounter camera failure, just launch it. within one second the camera will work again. better than wait 1 minute restart phone.
i set it as one of my nav ring shortcut for easy access.

works on stock samsung rom too. happily back on aokp. icon_rolleyes.gif

My phone battery life is satisfactory so far.
but i feel very weird about the battery usage.
my previous android phone and tablets, whether amoled or lcd,
usually the screen consumes the most battery by a very wide margin.

this s3 screen usage often slightly less than android OS.
i thought i have wake lock, but the phone is asleep and the battery life is ok.

is this normal or my phone battery sensor something wrong?

The phone is fast. Small delay/waiting/stutter do happen, but very rarely, and not terribly unbearable.

If u are never use iOS before, you will barely feel any stutter at all on s3.
But if you are avid apple user, it's abit noticeable. Because android project butter is not 100% consistent.

Noticeable places where stutter are very obvious to me is the Samsung gallery, and chrome browser, and Samsung dialer first time opening.

People using custom rom will feel slightly faster since google stock gallery, aosp browser and stock dialer are lag free compared to Samsung ones.

Jkay got develop for s2 also last time.
It's frustrating to sew his mod only work on certain Samsung firmware. Always need wait when got new one appear.

Use aosp rom got even more features.
Newer roms like omega and alliance already have features similar to Jkay. Jkay become redundant already.

I observe the price for a long time. It never drop.
32 gb drop so fast due to 64gb

But 64gb barely drop price. Have to wait 128gb come out first n become the norm.

Camera bug has been taken care off.
Look for my previous post few page back.
There's an app to instantly make the cam usable again.

Set it to one of your nav ring short cut.

Strange, when I first started use aokp the bug keep happening.

But now so few times already.
Since the 2nd time i re flash aokp, only happen once.
Just pull my nav ring to the short cut and camera instantly usable again.
