Not sure what's the hype about Samsung 4.2 in s3

aosp rom are better for me.
Don't think I will flash touch wiz rom again on s3
Custom aosp rom have
~led customization, fading effect is good. Those paid app doesn't even come close.
~on screen keys. Very intuitive and make phone usage a lot faster

Why you guys like touch wiz?
Any fantastic feature absent in aosp that I'm missing?

not sure that number is good or bad.

speaking of s4, i saw one in show room.
i very naughtly turn it off, and do a boot test. my friend was with me, so we booted all three phones at the same time.
s3, note 2, and s4. all also stock display set.

note 2 and s3 show lock screen in about 30 seconds, s4 50 seconds only show lock screen.

i totally canot brain why s4 slower than older gen phone.

the s4 on display is kindda laggy. i already turn off all the smart gesture. duno why.

I am using aokp. I guess the score is good due to on screen keys reducing actual screen size

i use omega rom and alliance rom before shift to aokp.
in between i also tested cm and paranoid android.

i dont feel any big difference in terms of speed, during browsing, or when playing game.

if you take 2 similar phone on different rom, and do the so called app launch test,
the difference is less than a fraction of a second, and most likely due to different time the left and right finger touch the screen.

both also good. depend what you prefer.

~customizable auto brightness values
~change camera focus setting(manual auto focus/continuous auto focus)

since i dont have samsung TV or mhl adapter, i prefer aosp custom roms.
got 2 types of weird bug in aokp rom, one is camera sometimes cant connect, got one app, tap to restart camera.
and 2nd issue is battery usage reporting is wrong. android OS always higher than screen usage, but its fake reading, battery life and screen on time is still great. fake wakelock to frighten u only.

auto wipe as in wipe content of internal sd card?

or just wipe system?

Just now went to Samsung sep store in Ipoh kinta.

Ask for s3 battery ori with nfc. The usual 2100mab one.

That bugger said rm 199. Price tag on it also written 199.

Crazy. Straight walk away.

i use pure android rom have no issues with wifi connection.

even on a fresh install?

what kind of problem? cannot connect? keep disconnecting?

i used aokp and cm nightlies before, they work fine.
i nv see people complain wifi issue in aokp thread before in xda.

the known bugs i have is camera connect error and false battery usage reporting.
camera bug can be fixed with an app, battery usage bug i just ignore it since its harmless

wifi works on all the aosp roms for me.

No. Why wana make the phone heavier?
Once it's inside the case, what cover also makes no difference.

Phone 'feels' lighter and more premium.
But phone 'IS' more likely to survive a fall with a case.

I prefer safety rather than look.

Just like you look more macho driving without safety belt,
But you are less likely to die during a crash.

Look at youtube drop test by Erica.
She drop the phone twice with case and nothing happen.
Once remove case and drop, instant crack.


I already feel premium using s3. It's an expensive phone and everyone knows it.
If u take a galaxy w wrap in aluminum, it's still cheap.
S3 even put inside ridiculous hello kitty rubber case,
it's still expensive and have a premium vibe.

Only affect the 16gb model.

Buy the 32gb and have a peace of mind.

Seems most active users use touch wiz rom.
And eagerly waiting for 4.2 touch wiz.

Nothing wrong with that.
Just hope more members join the aosp custom rom gang haha.

By the way, aokp has been on a break sine 15june.

what is the default modem for malaysia?

i flashed DXEMB1 thinking its better for asia region,
but i notice sometimes when i answer call, completely no sound, need to restart only fix.

shouldn't mess with the modem, now i want to flash back the original one. :-( but i dun remember what is the default one
