QUOTE(galaxynet @ Jun 3 2013, 01:59 AM) i say use 2A output current to charge our phone is no good for the battery.i know it fast.but up to u wan use whatever to charge.it is not my business.i juz give some advise only.still dun understand then find a hole and jump inside.if u wan fast then why dun u find 5A current output to charge I just read all related posts after giving my reply. Don't want to be seen as a vigilante but I somewhat am. This is a forum to discuss and when you have a point to make but are faced with adversity, please don't be insolent and/or insulting. Address the subject matter and you won't go wrong even though you may not be spot on. This is my little piece of advice for you. This post has been edited by PeeEl: Jun 3 2013, 06:48 PM

I maybe wrong but I think the phone (on stock firmware) will only accept max 1A. No matter if you use 1A or 2A charger. It still receiving 1A input.
Less than 1A charger is different story. If you use 0.5A or 0 75A charger...then it will charge slower as it take longer time with the lower output charger.

Which means to say, it would not be detrimental to the life span of the battery, right?

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Jun 3 2013, 07:00 PM) Which means to say, it would not be detrimental to the life span of the battery, right? Yeah.. logically it shouldn't bring any harm to the battery. On the other hand.. some ppl believe the battery will last longer if we use slower charger (0.5/0.75A) but I think using the specific charger (1A) is the right way as remommended by the manufacturer. ..lolz

But nowadays every other person will own more than one device and hence extra chargers. And more often than not they interchange them to use. The point is, with my lack of technical knowledge but exercising my layman's thinking, it should not harm the battery.

QUOTE(firstknight @ Jun 3 2013, 06:58 PM) When I was on stock, GCC showed 1000. Even when using Note 2's 2mAh charger, it still showed 1000, so waveweaver is somewhat right, there is a limit, but not sure if it's hardware or software.

After 377 hours (15 days) of stable uptime, ARHD is getting a bit boring already. Thinking of flashing to SuperNexus M1, but Nexus black & white UI is so bland. Maybe try MIUIANdroid 3.5.31 later, much more colourful QUOTE(mtxx @ Jun 3 2013, 09:02 AM) Thanks, CF root seems very easy to do. just use odin to flash. for the cwm, you say flash using odin. cant find the cwm in xda, is it directly go http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanagerand download the .img for i9300? odin can flash .img format? i thought only tar? does the cwm recovery remains even if i change rom? i plan to use omega rom. My CWM came from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719744Actually you don't need root to flash ROM, you just need custom recovery like CWM. QUOTE(galaxynet @ Jun 3 2013, 03:15 PM) when we charge our phone the input gsc is 1000 .but when the battery reach 85% above the gsc value drop rite?it is normal? If you mean GCC, yes, it can happen... the charging current may drop until full charge complete... QUOTE(firstknight @ Jun 3 2013, 06:58 PM) I am using stock firmware (it is charging at 999/1000 mAH) It may drop to 800 during the final charging to 100% but assuming that you are charging from much less than 100%, you should not be getting only 800.. could be cable problem (most likely) or problem with charger or power outlet... I believe if some app is open while charging...then the input will be slightly less. I remembered once...I leave my eBook app open and the charging received was only 600mA. Then when I close that app..the input went back to 1A.

just passing by to let someone know that kernel is actually the culprit which control how much current that enter your battery through phone no matter how high or how low your charger Ampere
by using 2A or 5A charger does not guarantee faster charging rate

What I posted above are about stock firmware/kernel. No matter what the charger output...the phone will receive max 1A only.
