joytest I encounter one problem for my S3.. it says something about "sim card" no network bla bla bla like that... and the phone need to restart in order for network sim to work..

did it happen to ur note 2?

what happen to my s3? first time happen
*
No. Sometimes the "No Network" issue happens to telcos. Or maybe you have a manually cut SIM. You can go to your telco and ask for a proper micro SIM.

S3 mini benchmark.
*
Why only 5k? It should not be too far from jakgelap's scores unless he is running a custom ROM with optimizations.

lol clone?

Hmm yes, the telco cut for me the sim that time. So the "no network" happens to your note 2 too? and after that. the phone tend to restart automatically...
*
No, it never happened to mine despite also being a cut SIM. Others have reported this problem you face though, and it got fixed with a replacement SIM.

If you look at the chart, S4 is more than 30000 I believe.

OC'd S4 will probably hit 30k. Someone posted 30k for a Note 2.

The secret was reducing the screen resolution hahahahahhaha.

I think someone posted this at the v1 thread:
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/05/13/galaxy...5210-dual-core/

I just decided to pay a little attention to the article. Dual core 5210 !!! It's going to thrash the S3. This in fact can almost give the Note 2 a run for its money..

S4 mini is a super device !!! tongue.gif

about the reduction in resolution:
IINM you set the DPI to some low number, like 160, or 140. This will fool the software into thinking you've got a lower resolution screen. Again, root needed.

how about my S3 battery life with all the way battery using for playing chinese chess only? (fifth charge)

battery life left 18%, i can make it go to 7h and battery life will still left 8-10% but i don't want to hurt my battery cycle

good battery life?  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

Anything more than 4h SOT is considered good in most cases. Remember that your standard working day is 8 hours.

I think you're one of the bosses, so you can enjoy as much SOT as you want tongue.gif

try to off data temporarily and test ur note2 battery life? i see some of forumers here data on 24/7 and still able to achieve good SOT because note2's chip and battery capacity is better than S3
*
Note 2 allows playing of Need for Speed:Most Wanted for approx 4 hours straight, based on the readings I've seen when my son plays it for max 1 hour. NO OTHER PHONE can last that long on stress use.

no problem, go for S4 mini then like joytest gave the link on previous thread which i forgot which post.

joytest S4mini's spec better than S3 flagship phone?
*
S4mini is using the A15 class processor. S3 is an A9. S3mini is, I don't recall if it's A7 or a throttled A9. Note 2 is still A9, but the final iteration so it performs a bit better than the S3 A9.

Good for shorting gold. Just buy a Vertu tongue.gif

Can you give me Vertu link?

thats mean s4mini beats S3 and Note 2?  cry.gif
*
http://www.vertu.com/

s4mini is using the new architecture. It will certainly be more powerful than the earlier ones. Note 3 will also use an A15.

Exynos 5220 or was it 5250. Dual core. Good enough to almost or sometimes thrash Exynos 4412.

any idea how to roll back playstore to previous version?
*
Supposedly you can go to the app manager, play store, then Uninstall Updates. Then you have to disable updating of the play store.

Here, for your S3

Calling someone a pedo is an extremely offensive thing in Western countries, and being proven a pedo is a very serious criminal offence. It is also an offence here but does not seem to be taken as seriously.

You have to understand the implication of the words you use.

Yes. So that's why shouldn't simply make statements that anyone is a pedo. Original term is paedophile.

s3m only handful of people are using it, so there not so much people to talk with. for note 2, you know most people are bought it or trying to bought one  nod.gif . so there so many user there than here whistling.gif
*
I think for mid range phones, people buy it as a phone with some surfing and FB etc. Probably not many think of custom ROMs and high performance and such. Likely in line with the buying demographic.

For those with teen kids: (and some s3m owners as well)

Facebook teens' kimonos - basically never closed
Adolescents overshare, astonishing survey finds
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/05/22/fa...pew_foundation/

Teenaged kids are handing out more private information on social media than ever before, with little thought for the consequences, a not-so-surprising survey has found.

Teens are carelessly giving away phone numbers, pictures and other sensitive data using their Facebook accounts, the report by the Pew Foundation pointed out.

Ten times more teens now make their phone number available online than had done so in 2006, while the number posting an email address has almost doubled, said Pew.

At the same time, 40 per cent of adolescents have not set up the full privacy settings on Facebook to shutter their stuff from the prying eyes of teachers, advertisers, employers or paedos. About 14 per cent do not bother to use any privacy settings at all, the survey found.

Some 33 per cent of respondents said they were Facebook friends with someone they had never met in person and about one in six said they had been scared by contact with a weird stranger online. More girls than boys were made nervous during a stranger interaction and kids that live in rural settings were also more likely to have encountered someone online that made them uneasy.
