hello..just wanna ask does the 4.3 update bring AR effect to the camera, just like in Z1 n Z ultra?
*
After I updated to 4.3 with Russian version I cannot open SONY Select. I thought it was problem of the ROM. I think SONY Select was down for past few days. Now I can open SONY Select but I downloaded AR Effect from Play Store. However, I still unable to find SONY Info-Eye in Play Store.

Heya folks, for those who did an upgrade recently to 4.3, did you noticed any unusual heating/warming up? Example: there is a noticeable amount of heat on the phone eventhough it is not doing anything

Yup, noticed it. try turning off auto sync. It seems that when connected wirelessly like wifi or 3G it will heat up quite fast. But i think the heat fried my motherboard, just sent for warranty (less than a week f use cry.gif )

edit: It happens when the phone tries to search for a service also. Mine lost all service/signal and wifi

Well, it might be a little hard since u have to unlock your bootloader, which voids ur warranty..

I am a SGS2 user and thinking of my next smartphone update. Being using SGS2 since launch about May 2011.

Things I care about the next upgrade are removable battery, great camera, great screen. I prefer dedicated shutter button, though it does not matter. My SE C510 can take better images vs sgs2 at 3.2mp setting which says something about the C510.

Based on the phone comparison, I can see ZR quite a good value compared to SGS4.

http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/S.../7845,5106,7597

However I don't know how good is the picture quality compared to the S2. I actually wanted a Z1, but they don't make it with a removable big battery. I don't mind water resistant or not. I need the removable battery as I use the phone a lot, especially on business trips as a theter device. Currently I change the SGS2 battery about slightly more than a year. Now on my third battery (since launch). With light usage I get about 14 hours per day on the SGS2 on new battery. Which covers most of my normal daily use when not outstation. By the time I go to sleep at 11, the phone has <5% battery left. When I go outstation, I'd get about 5 hours of battery (if lucky) which results me in killing the battery off even more with charge while using it-car charger/power bank/laptop usb/wall mounted theter etc. Battery goes down very fast in areas with poor connection. I assume the S2 is using a lot of battery power trying to get a strong connection.

Since SGS5 should be launched in the next 2 months, and the ZR was first available May 2013. I assume a normal phone cycle would be a May 2014 for the ZR successor to come.
My questions are:
1. How good is the ZR's camera vs the SGS2 or even the SGS4's camera?
2. How long can the battery last last?
3. Should I hold out for the ZR's successor, since it is already Jan and May is not far off.
4. The ZR phone release is May 2013, but when practically can purchase the phone earliest?

1. SGS4 picture quality is way better than ZR.. Its top of its class for small mobile sensor.
2. The battery can easily last 2 days with moderate use (none gaming and light mobile internet usage) with stamina mode of course
3. If you decide to play the waiting game, it will go on forever since a new phone will come out endlessly. If this phone suits your need, then buy it and it will be cheaper.
4. i dont understand this question, i myself also just purchased this phone 2 weeks ago (sent back for warranty btw)

Thanks for the reply. Last question I meant was, the phone released date was May 2013. But released date does not equal to date which you can actually purchase the phone. I was wondering when did this phone became available for purchase in Malaysia

Does this phone have problems? Sent back for warranty?

this phone has been available here since late may or early june if i'm not wrong. But later phone will have a later manufacturing date, you can check it under the battery (my one was manufactured during week47 which is november). I think its a combination of problems and bad luck, after updating the wifi became unstable (software), few days later phone lost all signal/service and kept rebooting randomly (hardware). Suspected the motherboard is faulty, but a check at the sony forum that my case is rare (got myself a faulty unit) vmad.gif

I see. Well, if they give you free new phone, that would not be bad. But the inconvenience is something else. I don't like the SGS4/3 shape, and I like the shutter button. So I will pass this one for now, until I find a better reason to upgrade smile.gif

I'm not sure the indicator light is for battery full or not cause i dont have the chance to test it yet. But what i know is that a blue light will appear after you power on the cradle.
