QUOTE(scarxxx @ May 19 2013, 11:45 PM) yo bro suadrif here is my feedback on the speaker:- Basically I just install the Win7 ultimate (pirate version) without any proper driver from Realtek, it works decently. It work out of the box in Windows 7. To compare, the sound is not as loud as my company lappie which is Lenovo T420s. I don't really listen to music via laptop speaker One more thing I want to mention here, for those who have some doubt with the UEFI, it can be switched to Legacy mode and the Secure Boot can be turned off too. So for those Linux enthusiast, there is no worries installing your favorite distro on it. a noob question, how did ou install Win 7 without the CD?

Hi all,
Searched for info on Lowyat forum before but here comes the time when I find the need to create my own account.
I would like to sell my Vostro 5460. Brand new. Have not even opened the lid. Have not even charged it. I bought it from the PC expo at Midvalley a few days ago.
Why do I want to sell it? The price is good. The specs is good. But here's my story. I am going to pursue my studies in UK this year, and my mother has been nagging me to purchase this and that instead of waiting until the last minute to settle everything, though I'd prefer to take my own sweet time to choose them. At the moment I bought it, I was just tired of trying to convince my mother that it is perfectly alright to decide on which laptop to purchase at a later time, and the stingy part of me took over and I thought the Vostro 5460 is just perfect. It still is.
But now, after thinking hard about it, I have decided that I am willing to spend more on my new laptop (probably MacBook, business grade Toshiba, or something ... not sure yet) because it is going to be my best buddy for at least 4 years and I thought, heck, I should invest more. Therefore, I would like to sell this to get back some cash so that I can purchase a new one.

I got this set at the PC Expo and will give it to the buyer too: Targus Laptop bag designed for Dell (padded, pretty good quality) Wireless mouse Headphone Screen cleaning kit Keyboard protective film Optical mouse pad Electric fan YES Go 4G Dongle Trial
Basically, you get a brand new laptop, the freebies, need not wait for the delivery period, at a discounted price Price: RM 2069
I would like to sell it as quickly as possible Let me know if you are interested. Feel free to ask me any questions. Thank you!

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ May 27 2013, 05:54 PM) need owners here to confirm if it is 7mm HDD (won't be surprise it is, probably why it is only 500G (biggest capacity so far for 7mm HDD)). If it is 7mm, you better get 7mm SATA SSD to replace the HDD. Crucial M4 (7mm), Crucial M500, Intel 320, are popular 7mm SATA SSD models. The problem is I already owned a Hyperx SSD, I'm afraid it cannot fit.. By the way, which 7mm SSD is better? considering to get one if Vostro 5460 really cannot fit normal-sized SSD

I did have a look at the 5460 over the weekend. However, I am not convinced that it is the best option if you are looking at it spec wise.

In what aspect u feel that its not the best option? is it the spec wise only or price wise? in your point of view, is there any other better option? HP Envy? Asus vivobook?
