Hi all. I hope to get a headphone with design just like akg k511 has lightweight & comfortable headband & soft cushion, but hope it has good sound isolation & extra smooth bass but no sacrificing clarity. Is there any chance for budget RM300? Thanks & have a nice day.

I know there is a few such thread and I have read them thoroughly...

and have also tested both the cans

and know first hand that

880 = neutral good mid, not so good high and low, and bass doesnt have that wide feeling

990 = good high good low, not so good mid, bass have that wide feeling

have been considering for 2 months and have been going to the shop to test for more than 10 times.....

very difficult to decide would like to hear some opinion and advise from long time users

bottom is.....

i quite like 990 with the wide open bass feel... but the highs are a bit too strong and mid is not good

on the 880 i like the mid and high but the low just doesnt have that wide open sound that I am looking for like in the 990

they are not cheap cans, that's why I have been considering for so long....

- What type of usage (movies and music)
- Genre of music you listen to (almost everything but mainly OST,classical, jazz and your usual songs, power ballad, not so much on hip hop or rapping sort of stuff)

- Your rig = PC with no sound card. Probably built-in audio
- What type of usage = mostly for gaming (ingame comm), movies and music.
- File format used in your source = mp3
- Genre of music you listen to = Any but more towards house, trance, dubsteps, pop.
- Headphone/ earphone type = Closed OR Open (prefer Closed)
- Other requirements = noise canceling mic and most importantly best bang for buck!
Budget = 200 plus minus 20.

Hey guys, been out of the audiophile scene for a while. Sadly my beloved Audio Technica ATH-CKM55's left side has no sound anymore, so I'll be needing a replacement. sad.gif
And does anyone knows how long Jaben's warranty lasts and if they cover 1 side rosak for reasons unknown? lol

Can anyone also tell me how to avoid the 1 side no sound problem? This is actually my first time encountering it, but I know it's a fairly common problem. I NEVER roll my IEMs around my device, i normally fold them like how they're folded in the box when you open them.

My rig:
iPod Nano 4th Gen + LOD + Fiio E11
What type of usage:
Music only
File format used in your source:
Mostly MP3, sometimes FLAC on my laptop
Genre of music you listen to:
Huge range. Rock, Alternative, Acoustic, Electro, House, R&B
Headphone type:
IEM
Budget:
RM150-RM250
Headphones in mind:
Audio Technica CKM55 (again)
Tried but don't like:
Hippo (I don't remember the model but it was around the same price range)
Additional Info:
Essentially I want something with decent bass (enough to make House music sound good) but not too overpowering. I generally like a more neutral and clear sound, with just some bump on the bass.
Also I'm kind of vain, so I'd prefer if they look good. To me the CKM55 actually looked really nice and a lot of my friends asked me about it.

Thanks!

I did research online. Audio Technica ATH-M50 is the best headphone below $200.. I might stretch my budget even further if it's that good

Hey guys~ My budget is less than RM400. If possible, the lower the price, the better buttttttt I can put into consideration if it costs more than my budget.

Your Rig
Mostly PC.

What type of usage
Mainly music~

File format
mp3 and flac

Genre of music
Metalcore and rock. But occasionally pop-ish music

Headphone/earphone type
Headphone. Circumaural. Noise cancelling. Close back.

Other requirements (if any)
I absolutely hate on-the-ear (or anything that presses down on my ears) headphones cause it's just too painful for me. shakehead.gif
