QUOTE(Holyjolly @ Jun 18 2013, 07:19 PM) Thats a lot =.= any alternatives? Steelseries headset worth that price or not? I tried before, not bad...but I heard it won't last long... If you have a credit card, there are some good deals in the USA$45 ATH M30 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M...eywords=ath+m50 $48 ATH M40 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M...eywords=ath+m50 $69 ATH M35 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M...eywords=ath+m50 $100 ATH AD700 http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-O...eywords=ath+m50 $129 ATH ES7 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-E...eywords=ath+es7 $156 (drops to nearly $110 all the time) http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M...eywords=ath+m50 Plenty of other brands too like Sennheiser, V Moda, Sony Edit: Expect to pay around RM100 for shipping, so check local prices. Stuff like ATH M50 is double the price locally, so the shipping is worth it. This post has been edited by LightningFist: Jun 18 2013, 07:29 PM |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 17 2013, 07:00 PM) If you've read the last few pages, I think you should already know to stay the hell away from 5.1/7.1 headsets, period. If you've made up your mind you want to stay away from these 'true' 5.1/7.1 headsets, then state your budget. Then everyone here can help you pick up a good set of cans for your gaming needs.I'd go out on a dime to admit they're acceptable in terms of positional accuracy, but the audio quality of 5.1/7.1 headsets is just horrendous. It's like putting mud mixed with urine in your ears. No offense intended but that's how it is. And the Kave? It'll be one of the most uncomfortable headset you'll ever put on your head, ever. It has got this ridiculous clamping pressure, a stupid headband, and the ridiculous weight which doesn't even out on your head at all. I've got a pretty small head and I had headaches after 20 minutes, go figure if you've got a medium-sized head or larger. If you absolutely just want positional accuracy and nothing else (no sub-bass, no kicks in the mid-bass, non-focused mids) then the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 is your best choice under RM500. The soundstage is sooooo wide that with a proper HRTF (dolby headphones work well with the AD700), it'll perform as good if not better than a 5.1 headset without sounding like absolute horse ****. I'll stress it again, you've got 2 ears not 5 or 7 ears. You're human, not a mutant. Headphones/headsets are close up hearing experience. You do not compare it with a 5.1/7.1 actual speakers setup where everything else is a different story. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Jun 19 2013, 07:41 PM |

If that is the game looking for a headphone mainly for gaming, movies and a little bit of music. Price range is around less then 1k. |

QUOTE(naTTan @ Jun 20 2013, 01:26 AM) After looking at this link Well based on your needs, I suppose you'd want an all-rounder.It seems dolby surround can more or less mimic 5.1. Although i am still sceptical. If that is the game looking for a headphone mainly for gaming, movies and a little bit of music. Price range is around less then 1k. I don't know if your budget includes an amp/or and a DAC or not. But otherwise, if you can raise your budget to RM1.3k, a Hifiman HE-400 will do you a world or bliss for your ears. If your budget is struck down under RM1k, a Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro will be a rather good choice too. A little bright perhaps, so you might want to EQ down on the highs a little bit if it is too fatiguing for you. Otherwise the cheaper DT770 Pro isn't a bad choice either if what you want is a strong presence in bass, sacrificing mids quite a bit — which isn't good for metal or jazz, but since music isn't your primary concern then I think it's fine. Soundstage on the DT770 Pro is still rather good though despite it being closed, as always you can EQ down on the bass to bring out a little more life in the mids. |
