I tried Sony MDR-1R at sony store yesterday and it impress me alot, but at that price range RM950 is there any other headphone that can perform better?

i listen to anime & english music...and sometimes movie...
*
ATH M50x, the newer version of M50, biggest highlight is the detachable cord. It goes for 650rm.
The MDR-1R for some reason didn't impress me at all compared to its price range... Neither did it's MDR siblings. I am a sony fan, but just didn't feel good enough.

Sorry guys is it possible to recommend something around RM500? From those that I checked only the ATH M50 is around that price. Others are like 1k+ sweat.gif
*
I recommend the ATH M40x, not sure if out in Malaysia yet, but effeminately will be out this month. It has a flat sound so depending on EQ setting, most people should be happy smile.gif
If can topup another RM150, ATH M50x is highly recommended. The new design has detachable cables, so can change cables to suit comfort and when the wire breaks or anything, you won't have to buy a new set of cans. M40x also has detachable cables smile.gif

I'm mentioning the M40x without any proof that they are comfortable yet, but the older version, M40, are quite comfortable as many people mention in their reviews.

hi proandroid tongue.gif

so

Audio-Technica ES700 (lively sounds and detailed)
Audio-Technica M50 (Great bass and slightly "trebled" sound)
V-Moda Crossfade M-80 (stylish looking + portable + good sound quality)
Grado SR225i (rock/metal sounds really good )
Creative Aurvana Live! (this one is not even RM500, sounds is the best among these)

among these, which 1 has velour full sized??
sorry but I need your spoonfeeding T_T
*
I don't think any of those come with velour pads, usually they're sold separately.
And I believe velour pads can go easily rm100 a pair.
+1 for the ATH M50! But the new series M50x should be out soon, and it has detachable cables rclxms.gif
Definitely get the Grados if you're not going to use the heapdhone outside! They have an open design which makes them sound good, but with the only problem of sound leakage. Everyone around you can hear what you are listening to tongue.gif

Me myself, I'm planning to get the M40x + upgrade to velour pads since M50x is over my budget brows.gif

But ATH M35 doesn't have that rubber support thingy to place on your scalp. I don't mind up my budget nod.gif
May I know where can I buy M40x?

Been looking at this post: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3146771/all
Asked around in a lot of shops (haven't asked jaben yet) and most shops are telling me they'll have stop early to mid next month.

Currently using ATH PRO5MK2, but the detachable cable and flat sound response on M40x is too tempting to not look at sweat.gif

Dang my stock htc earphones went kaput and now I need a new pair.

budget: <rm250
rig: phone + pc
usage: 80% music 20% others
format: flac, mp3, video files
music genre: everything so the sound should be balance, not too bassy and not too soft.

remarks:- Prefer coziness over audio quality (bought shure se215 b4 and then sold it back due to comfort problem)
This will be my 'on the go' earphone so nothing cumbersome

Thanks in advance smile.gif

mee a151 - really comfortable, and extremely detailed for an iem of the price range.

i tested out my friends one, which he got for 220rm, which i believe is the standard price you can get it. and it comes with a carrying case.

sound is not bass heavy, but the bass sounds really good. mids and highs are really good as well, overall, it's probably the best balanced armature you can get for the price.

Hello guys, need some help in figuring out an IEM for a friend, and another for myself....

For my friend.

- Your rig: Laptop + Xperia S
- What type of usage: Music
- File format used in your source: MP3
- Genre of music you listen to: house/trance/dance
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements: Clear and heavy bass
- Budget: RM200. Fixed budget

For me. Flexible budget (not over RM450)

- Your rig: iPod shuffle + Nexus 4 + Laptop + Galaxy S2 (rooted and custom OS, louder than my Lenovo Z400 even while using Dolby Home Theater, but not as clear)
- What type of usage: Music (movies and anime as well, but focusing on music)
- File format used in your source: MP3 + FLAC
- Genre of music you listen to: Everything. Mostly rock, metal,
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM or Closed Circumaural
- Other requirements: Flat or focused headphones with a good deal of bass.
- Budget: RM300~RM400 flexible budget, though I'm not planning to go over RM450.

I'm planning to buy the ATH M40x but because I travel alot everyday, my brain is telling me to go for a good IEM. But I still can't decide.
So please give me recommendations on both IEMs and a headphone.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

What do you guys think about the Skullcandy Crusher?
Just found out

http://www.skullcandy.com/crusher

The Crusher is only USD99 in the States

https://www.facebook.com/myskullcandy/app_419779378088641

but it's selling for RM489.90 in Malaysia. f***ing ripoff.
*
Walked into a QuickSilver outlet and compared with my ATH PRO5MK2. Sure, there were people staring at me but I didn't care cool.gif
Don't remember much about the the crusher, but I remember not liking it at all. + that price tag. Although, my friend did tell me he could barely hear anything that was being played even while I was on full volume. So I guess it has good isolation.

Was interested to get the Crusher for the Bass and novelty of having one.

What would you recommend with a budget of about RM300?

I'm looking for a new earphone to replace my meelectronics m9. I'm currently considering a-jays five or meelectronics a151 balanced armature. Which is better in terms of sound quality? Any other recommendations is also welcomed. Thanks. smile.gif
*
I haven't tried the a-jays 5 yet, but I did try 1, 2, 3 and 4. But I would definitely go for the a151 for sound quality.
Btw, a-jays 5 is around double the price of meelectronics a151. So if a-jays are in your budget, you might find better IEMs.
And depending on what you listen to mostly, recommendations would differ

Hey, a recommendation would be helpful

I'm looking to buy a pair of earphones

My rig : Smartphone
- Budget : Around RM300
- What type of usage : Music
- File format used in your source : 320kbps Mp3\ FLAC
- Genre of music you listen to : Rock, Club (Bass Heavy music)
- Headphone/ earphone type : IEM

I was thinking of getting the Shure SE215

I also want to buy a On Hear headset and was thinking of the V-Moda M80 for about 800RM.

Any pieces you think are better? And could you please point me to where I could buy them. Thanks in advance.
*

For headphones, if you're okay with a bit bigger headphones (in size), ATH Pro700Mk2 would be good, for bass heavy music/listening.

You think these are better than the V-Moda M80's?
And how much would these be for?
Also, you know where I would be able to find these in-store or online?

Thanks for you help
*
I've never tested either... So, can't say. Hahah. But from what I've read, the ATH is more detailed. This makes sense because they are DJ headphones. Their pads are also not as thick as most other headphones (probably so the ears are closer to the driver to make it easier to listen to) so they might seem uncomfortable for everyday use.
These on Jaben are for 738rm.
You can check some posts here, I remember one post had a price tag of rm640.

Looking for advice on a good quality headphone. Noob in audio equipment.

- Rig - PC using on-board audio
- Format - mp3, movie source, gaming source, CD
- Genre - not important
- Type - Headphone, circumaural, open better?
- Other - no need mic
- Price : RM 300-400

- Queries
----- 5.1 advisable?
----- Any significant difference in sound quality if slightly higher budget e.g. RM400-600?
----- Any use of additional stuff like amps, etc?

Also recommend me a reliable trader (with good pricing!) in garage sales to buy the headphones. Thx.

If you go for an open headphone, you're definitively stuck home with em since it'll leak a lot of sound. And usually for budget gaming headphones, closed are better. But for music, it depends on personal preferences.

If you do go for a higher budget, definitely can get better headphones rclxms.gif
But if you want to go for 5.1/7.1 surround headphones, it would only do you good while gaming, and maybe movies. For music, you can get better headphones rather than surround sound.
I'm not so sure if it's a good idea to get an amp and headphone for your budget.... Might be a good idea to stick with just headphones.

For under 300rm headphones, Creative Aurvana Live! and Grado SR60i (open)
If you up your budget you can get the Grado SR125i (open) or ATH M50.

But it all depends on which is more important, if gaming might be better if you go for surround headphones, if music..... different headphones for different genre tongue.gif

Guys I am considering Audio Technica M35, T500, TAd500 and also the ATH-PRO5MK2. Which is the best?

Budget= RM300
Rig= PC and Nexus 4
Usage= Gaming, Movie and Music

And for my bro is the Audio Technica ATH T200 good enough for the above same usage or better to go for ATH TAD300?
*
M35, T500, TAd500 and ATH-PRO5MK2 are really different..... Depends on your taste of music.

If you're okay with open headphones, TAd 500 is a good choice. But the other for the other three, it would depend on your tastes (what kind of music you usually listen to)

Bros I need help with a new pair of IEMs.
Is there any IEM that have something in the middle of Beyers XP 1 and XP2?
I really like XP2 stage sound, but the mids sounds too smooth(sound girlish) as i mostly listen to male vocals.
Budget below RM300.
Rig HTC ONE X.
MP3.
