- My rig. Travel quite a lot. Rely much on I devices (iPod nano and iPhone 5)
- Mainly for muscic streaming and gaming.
- File format. Flac. Alac. MP3 for streaming. Would prefer something versatile. Not too dependent on source.
- Genre. Can't tell no specific genres. If really need one would be soft rocks n pop
- iem
- budget falls around 500-1k
- I would say I emphasize on clarity, noise isolation n deep bass. If it helps haha.
Side note. I saw mid valley selling JVC HA-FXT90 for 500. Is it good??

Please advise thanks!!

Dunno if anyone has asked about this sound isolation thingy.

I'm hunting for a pair of headphones with excellent noise isolation from outside. You see, I'm doing mixing/monitoring/balancing on a live environment. And the position of the sound crew is fixed right beside the musicians. Since I can't move to a quieter spot, I guess the only option I have is to get headphones with strong isolation.

The details which I checked online are pretty limited. Most of them are talking about sound isolation from the headphones to outside. But I'm gathering details of isolation from outside to inside instead. And the other recommendation is to get noise-cancelling headphones, which I doubt will work because those are meant for a different frequency. I believe those are meant for planes and MRT and will not work on a situation where there is a live band next to you. They aren't rockers, but enough to disrupt.

Was previously using a cheap Philips headphone. One of those stock models which you can get from any IT store. Didn't work for me. Then, I tested with my personal BeyerDynamic DT770 and it worked well. But those cans are too expensive to leave it around. Right now, I'm using a temporary Creative HQ1600 (another one of those from IT store).

I'm currently planning to get either an Audio Technica M50 or Sony MDR 7506. I've tested the M50 before but it was in a quiet surrounding. The 7506 on the other hand is like world standard for mixing recording. But it might work only in studios, not live environment.

Has anyone used either one of those models before? Other suggestions most welcomed. Take note that I'm looking for sound isolation, not pleasure listening. And would prefer a flat frequency (optional). Budget around RM400-RM600.

No idea where you got that insane pricing. But you are very wrong.. even at preorder its around rn5200 and with BF sales it's only around rm4200..

There are people who has heard it before and initial impressions of it too if you googled hard enough..

Ear impression is only rm100 at clarisound the last I checked. You can find their branches around.
You can order directly through JHAudio website. Follow their instructions for the 20% promo code. The last day for this sales is today I think, so you don't have much time left. Applies to their other models like JH13 and 16 too.

if that can be done then it would be great, i will look into it coz i had the impression that JH nominated jaben as a distributor and they would reject all orders as i know most of the times its like that.

totally different from the Senns. the Roxanne (being BAs) is is really smooth and well extended while the IE (being Dynamic) is aggressive and raw.

hmm.....i reckcon by then im looking at the same comparision i made with IE and UE. not enough bass, the trebles too sharp and the mids are kinda meh. despite everyone hailing it la, i didnt enjoy it one bit.

Between the Shure and the Westone, which signature do you prefer to match closest to your M50  hmm.gif

I lean more towards my Shure SE215 but it feels not really close to M50 yet. I hate the sound of UM2 to be honest. Because i listen to quite many instrumental musics~ this earphone emphasise much at mid~n lack of the low.

se215 has a forward mid and recessed high, bass is thumping. so it has a total sound signature compared to m50. m50 has better soundstage and clarity. everything is also balanced with slightly boosted bass.
