My current favourite headphone is ATH M50
Was looking for an IEM for portable use. Currently using SE215 n Westone UM2.
Will be considering to upgrade to a higher rank IEM
Currently looking at SE535, Westone 4r, JH5 Pro
but not sure which one the Sound signature would b closer to ATH-M50.? Any pro mind to recommend me which one to take or share your personal experience on CIEM, SE535 or Westone 4r? My budget is around Rm1500 biggrin.gif

Between the Shure and the Westone, which signature do you prefer to match closest to your M50  hmm.gif
*
I lean more towards my Shure SE215 but it feels not really close to M50 yet. I hate the sound of UM2 to be honest. Because i listen to quite many instrumental musics~ this earphone emphasise much at mid~n lack of the low.

Hi, just tried out the following in ear phones at hong kong Mingoheadphone
Shure 535 : the ear buds blocked too much area from the driver, the sound became bloated or weird, and weak bass
Shure 846 : Sounds good, but my sister says too hard to wear, which is very critical for her. Sounds close to my headphone, D2000 which is very good, even better detail than mine
Sennheiser IE800 : everything is good, sound is very smooth, bass is powerful and soundstage, instruments and details is good but the vocals are too backward, even with amplifier (music fidelity, forgot which model available in the shop), perhaps this is the downside of single driver IEM?
After listening to IE800, the IE80 became nothing, so definately won't choose that.
Anymore recommendations? sad.gif actually likes the IE800 sound but too vocal too backward. Gotta try more tomorrow, a lot of IEM available to try there, Fitear TG334 and westone (spelled like that? im not sure, just something like that)

Budget, prefer around RM2000, but able to pump more if the sound really good

Also tried the D600, the pads are soooooooooooo comfortable and thick, and the driver sounds similar, even a little bit more detailed when played with my note 3 too,not sure if amplified, i don't know why people say the new product lines of denons are bad and the driver of my D2000 already legendary.

For Shure 535 is weak bass? blink.gif I think u didnt really seal the IEM itself completely? as sealing is very critical for it to acquire the full bass quality of it. I can say that Shure SE535 is one of the one with tight basses in it. tongue.gif
Well thats not my point, just that, since your sis is willing to stretch your budget until so high, if you are looking for the airy and the tight sealing , Why dont go custom? Is a completely difference experience. You can hear NOTHING when you put your Customs iem on even without playing any music. tongue.gif You can only hear the total silence. Do have a look around for brands like JH Audio, Unique Melody, 1964, Noble Audio and many more tongue.gif Well i can say that the SQ of Customs can win over quite many high ends headphone. cool2.gif

she doesn't like those weird shapes and weird colors  doh.gif anyway she got tired after sennheiser IE800 didn't satisfy her. Actually what i mean weak bass is not enough texture on the following frequency  blush.gif I didn't know there are so much difference between IEM and overhead headphones too. She says she rather spend those money on speakers
*
Aww~custom is not about the weird shape~the shape is actually the shape of her ears. She should look at those ppl that put the custom on, all u can c is a lush flush faceplate at the ears. biggrin.gif and given this is custom, she can actually choose her favourite color. Or maybe texture like carbon fibre, glitter, wooden etc. Haha...so sad that ur sis dont like it , no choice den. It stills comes back personal preferences smile.gif...
Ah den maybe i misunderstood ur meaning smile.gif anyway good luck on hunting your audio equipment biggrin.gif

If you ask others about experience of CIEM and IEM...i would bet they will definitely stick to customs in terms of SQ biggrin.gif
I bet noobandroid tai kor would say so too biggrin.gif So if you have the budget, go customs thumbup.gif

I am actually of planning to get a Pandora Hope VI and a AK100...
So, if CIEM is better than I'll go for that..
my player is Xperia Z1
*
5k budget? You can still go for Ak100 + an entry level CIEM like JH5...or you can str8 go for a JH16/13 + Fiio x5 like John says...would b considerable too. You can try to demo it urself and do the maths biggrin.gif

the M50 are quite good, but mids are recessed and a little bump in the bass region, however the sound is still quite smooth but highs might be a bit piercing for some people, pads are not really comfortable at least for me
for the price it's really a good deal, change a pair of pads and you're good to go  smile.gif
*
If wanna change the pad, what pad we should change into?

Wanted to upgrade from my HD 555, wondering what's good for me.
Rigs : Planning to get a Sound Blaster Z for my PC (Currently using Purity Sound from Asrock Mobo) / just using HTC One S
Budget : Around RM600
The sound that I'm looking for :

-Wide soundstage
-Solid bass, not too little or overpowering
-Not too crisp on treble
-Great sounding mids

Type of musics : Most of genres, except for classical and jazz I guess

From my research, I found Denon AH-D1100(still concern about the durability), Logitech UE 6000 and ATH-M50X to be quite interesting. Or If you guys have any other recommendations, please let me know, piece  icon_rolleyes.gif

Solid bass, you can consider Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. I think its at promotion price now and ending soon. Better grab it fast laugh.gif
