Some experts say blending is better . Others say juicing is . I think both are Okay laa . Nowadays I do juice fasting once a month . That means I consume only fruit/vegetables juice the whole day without eating anything else .  I feel my energy is up up since I started this juice fasting . Juice fasting is one of the most powerful way to heal our body .

Do you guys have links to any studies conducted on oxidation, loss of nutrients, and optimized blending method for rate of nutrient absorption?

Certain questions still linger, for example, slower blending could mean longer exposure and thus higher oxidation levels.

In this case perhaps faster blending for short, quick bursts, with a sharp blade, would be the best method?

you no need to do research, it has already done by hurom. slow juicer does not mean it is 'slow'. the speed just 'optimum' or 'perfect' to be juicing at 80rpm. centrifugal juicer in high speed definite even worst, heat from the blade will kill the nutrition.

very simple, you can watch the video centrifugal vs slower juicer output juice, the color different so much! one look vomited color and another look very attractive! tongue.gif

Actually ... I don't have a juicer . I prefer blending instead because I like to consume the fibers too . I been wanting to buy Ladyship juicer ...but some ppl say Ladyship is actually a blender rather than a juicer . hmm.gif

I'm using juice presso from Korea. 40rpm. Bought on ebay around rm 850-900. Adding import tax rm 250 upon delivery. Works excellently. Pulp very dry.

My humble personal opinion, you need both machine blending and juicing for health.

1) Blender has it pro and con, juicer also has is pro and con;

Oxidation - when you expose the fruit with oxygen it start to oxidize, both blender/juicer encourage to drink fast.

Enzyme - destroyed when temp reach 40 deg. That's why you need HIGH PERFORMANCE BLENDER. Blend around 30 seconds.

i don't recommend to keep or store for smoothie or juice. drink it instantly is the best.

Blender ( Smoothie )
- Liquidify whole fruits/ vegetables by chopping them very finely with blades, spinning at very high speed. Result is a pulpy puree-like drink which you call a “smoothie”. During blending, air gets trapped in the drink, making it “fluffy”. The air, together with the pulp may cause gas/bloating in some people.- Not good for ppl with poor digestion. However, by adding a slice of ginger, that would solved it. *wink wink*

Slow absorbed by the body system because of high fiber. also means slow release of sugar in the body (with fiber). keeps you full. Great for weight management and detox.
- Because is slow release of energy, it good for ppl want to diet and keep fit (cal the calories),
- good for constipation because of fiber.
- No wastage.

2) Juicer ( Juice )
Juicer - slow squeeze.
Extract the juices by separating the juice from the fiber/pulp. Result you get is pure, smooth juice.
When Pulp is separated, aka the soluable fiber goes to waste.

Easy to absorbed by the body system because it contained mainly in liquid. However, it may lead to sudden spike of glucose into blood stream.

Suitable for people who are fighting illness which need fast nutrients with less energy to digest.

Because pure juice, easy absorb, it suitable people need high impact nutrients for fighting illness, elderly particular or toddlers.

Very suitable for veggie, root base veggie- good taste
Not so suitable for whole fruit - mainly because since is whole fruit you want to eat all no point separated the fiber out even is 5% or 10%.
not so suitable for person who want to keep fit. you don't want high spike of sugar level. try to maintain balance metabolism (cal your calories)

for person who want to buy blender or juicer .. hope the info above help.

I would suggest that one should get a blender followed by a juicer depending on your requirements and needs for health. I got a blender and im using it for detox and general health. I will soon get a juicer to do the greens.

i feel lahhh not worth spend so expensive money to get brand like hurom.

i think now the world of business is changing so quite compare to last last time, for example:

you keluar Iphone6, Samsung also keluar 6S, XiaoMi lagi crazy high end spec sell crazy cheap price

GoPro sport cam $129 ; XiaoMi every spec better than GoPro sell $63....

whatever good product you now keluar, people will quickly copy and sell it CHEAP

as long as the brand offer the same concept and similar parts use in this slow juicer, i think it worth the price. if you worry, may be can ask if the motor made from korea or where, as long as not china. i remember my previous survey found some brand use korea motor as well not limited to hurom...
