I plan to buy a juicer. have survey and read in internet and has been narrow down my choice into masticating type instead of centrifugal. However, I found there is 2 speed available for slow juicer whichis 47 and 80 rpm, wonder which is good for juicer and able to juice nut/bean as well.

Besides, what brand which is you are recommend? I see there are Breville, Omega, Hurom, Primada (branded), Jj and 7 smile not sure reliable or not...

i just bought Primada from maybank treatsfair yesterday at mv.
the slower the rpm the better becoz heat is less and it will preserve more fruit/vege enzyme which is the main point of slow juicing.

i am trying to do my own survey too (not so helpful to do it after u hv bought something, but wat the heck)... and i couldnt find much info i was looking for. eg: comparison chart among the brands u mentioned above.

from what i found, primada is the only one with Double Angle Auger ... the rest are with one (if i am wrong, someone pls correct me).
This double angle auger is the lastest update only done in 2012.
so i concluded that the other brands are selling outdating clone products... Primada is the leader of this technology for others to copy ... just my own opinion.

btw 80rpm is primada's earlier model before they updated it with 57rpm last year. slow doesnt mean the juicing process is slow to get the result, it just means lower heat.
grinding stuffs works on any speed. primada comes with the Grinder expansion set... other brand i am not sure if they will give u that. if they dont, u cant even grind with just the main unit.

Good luck and happy slow juicing happy.gif

I do a lot of own survey and found:

Hurom (80rpm - Korea - Korea motor -1 yrs part 10yrs motor) 300series RM1480
Primada (80rpm - Msia - Korea motor -1 yrs part 10yrs motor) RM1700
Breville (80rpm - US - Korea motor -1 yrs part 10yrs motor) ~$320
7smile (47rpm - China - Korea motor -1 yrs part/motor) RM899
Aojiro (80rpm - China - China motor -1 yrs part/motor) RM499

i also notice the double auger of primada, cant really remember for breville brand slow juicer. but Primada price tag just too expensive for me. same goes to hurom. 7smile was order and out of stock, feel seller not really want to sell..... also wanted to try breville but need to buy from Amazon.

so far, on hold the purchase and look for any more budget brands. btw, how much you bought your primada?

Kummel brand u can get for about RM500 also.. but I dont know the tech behind it

Btw before buying from Amazon just remember to check the voltage and wattage ya... The blender that I want to buy (Nurtribullet) runs at 600W and the step down transformer for higher watts is expensive  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  sad.gif
*
ohh kay, thanks for your hint notworthy.gif i will check if any Kummel brand infocan found in the www.

i noticed that Aijori is double auger, kinda interesting for such price. left the only concern - reliability of the product hmm.gif

Some experts say blending is better . Others say juicing is . I think both are Okay laa . Nowadays I do juice fasting once a month . That means I consume only fruit/vegetables juice the whole day without eating anything else .  I feel my energy is up up since I started this juice fasting . Juice fasting is one of the most powerful way to heal our body .

Do you guys have links to any studies conducted on oxidation, loss of nutrients, and optimized blending method for rate of nutrient absorption?

Certain questions still linger, for example, slower blending could mean longer exposure and thus higher oxidation levels.

In this case perhaps faster blending for short, quick bursts, with a sharp blade, would be the best method?
*
you no need to do research, it has already done by hurom. slow juicer does not mean it is 'slow'. the speed just 'optimum' or 'perfect' to be juicing at 80rpm. centrifugal juicer in high speed definite even worst, heat from the blade will kill the nutrition.

very simple, you can watch the video centrifugal vs slower juicer output juice, the color different so much! one look vomited color and another look very attractive! tongue.gif

i'm thinking of buying a slow juicer for myself but cant decide to go for which model/brand. though i am now leaning towards hurom but is it worth it to spend that much on a juicer?
*
i feel lahhh not worth spend so expensive money to get brand like hurom.

i think now the world of business is changing so quite compare to last last time, for example:

you keluar Iphone6, Samsung also keluar 6S, XiaoMi lagi crazy high end spec sell crazy cheap price

GoPro sport cam $129 ; XiaoMi every spec better than GoPro sell $63....

whatever good product you now keluar, people will quickly copy and sell it CHEAP

as long as the brand offer the same concept and similar parts use in this slow juicer, i think it worth the price. if you worry, may be can ask if the motor made from korea or where, as long as not china. i remember my previous survey found some brand use korea motor as well not limited to hurom...

A bit worry, coz NO WARRANTY from LZD
*
same brand from groupon, 299 got 6mth warranty i saw it before; also i saw there is female brought another model of juicer from Lazada, they shipped her and used unit, all parts have been assembled. the buyer made complaint but seem knock on wall. i will skip lazada then (2nd case i observed). where the 1st case i saw their ads claim -70% on 1hp aircont sell at 7xx, eventually at Lelong, for same model without any discount, lelong sell at 7xx just slight higher. Con-ppl ads haha laugh.gif

just pay for the advertisement probably. its almost the same as most brands..haha
when i first bought, the colour of the apple juice was fine even after leaving for 1 hour. But recently, it oxidize in just 5 minutes.
I am not sure if it is this batch of apples or the machines. rclxub.gif
*
should be apple, but serious, if the apple juicy never get oxidization, then you will sweat.gif

It is similar to Kuvings previous model but with a much better lower rpm, means more juice, less oxidisation. Of course price is 3 times lower, using China OEM parts, assemble locally.

noise?
- low
reliability?
- above average
quality of the juice? texture -- more juice or mixed more pulp in juice, etc?
- texture is good, more juice than traditional juicer, pulp separated at another 'exit'
how dry the pulp?
- very dry, because it is being squeeze rather than being 'cut' & 'spin'
if jam, can it reverse?
- yes, there is a switch to reverse.

You search at youtube to see those example videos. their website available for livechat for more info.

CONS

Narrow feeding tube – we find that the 3 small tubes which allow better mixing isn’t that important as a feature as the juices collected in the jug could have been mixed well with just a good stir. Small feeding tubes means we need to cut smaller fruits like apple/orange into at least 4 to 6 pieces.
Pulp is not as fine as we expected – It resembles small chopped pieces. It also feel slightly moist.
Limited recipes – There are only 20 recipes provided in the book. For someone who is eager to try a variety of cold press juices, more recipes in the book or online will be more appealing.
