I'm using mine naked. Y cover it up? I'd like to be able to run my fingers down its smooth silky back whenever I wanted to.
*
Same here, but it's good to use a case anyhow. Especially if you have a gf/wife that wants to play with it - too risky! LOL

QUOTE(grabulasa @ May 13 2013, 08:15 PM)
If you're on LTE coverage area, will the data transfer icon still show H or another symbol? Am at damansara now, icon still showing H, did speed test last night and speed was around 24 mbps.

Have I arrived?
*
It will show 4G when you are in LTE-enabled area. If you are still limited to H, then you Maxis (I presume) sim-card is not updated to LTE yet, or your Maxis account is limiting it. IIANM only those with above 1GB data plan have LTE for Maxis. brows.gif

QUOTE(KLlee @ May 13 2013, 08:18 PM)
the Double dip casing is RM119. I got one for myself. Really like it. The feel is just nice. Good thing is it protects the whole phone. U know our edges has the Chrome silver color which the case will also protect.

Overall for me it is a well design and good case. Something different.
*
I may have missed your post earlier, but any idea where to get it in Malaysia now? sweat.gif

I prefer silver because scratches will be much less visible than black.

Also, black HTC One looks too stealthy. Nobody will know it's HTC One unless see up close. laugh.gif

yeah, but i am probably going back to silver for the scratches... still sitting on the fence tongue.gif
*
Whenever I whipped out my HTC One Silver in public, people immediately go "Wow, that's the new HTC One!" or they ask "Is that the new One"?. The feeling - is just priceless. rclxm9.gif

If I had a HTC One Black with me, rest assured that nobody would even know unless they were staring at my screen. laugh.gif tongue.gif

QUOTE(tanaumaga @ May 14 2013, 12:32 PM)
yes, totally agree

but its funny that while htc promotes silver, black seems to be the prettier one.

as for iphone, its the opposite - promotes black but white nicer
*
Cause HTC is marketing the One as All-Metal, and Metal is characterized by silver colour, not black... love their motto "It is what your phone isn't" which is an awesome statement! thumbup.gif

The digi staff also confused. When I went they said only got white! Then I said HTC never produced white, please bring out the box and let me see. When they brought out the box I know why. The box is white and the picture of the phone is silver but from away it looks white. They then admitted it is silver.
*
Prefer my Silver HTC One, which does look White-ish at times depending on lighting.

However, Black HTC One is tempting me as well, perhaps will give my Silver to my wife and I will grab a new Black one when it is available. brows.gif

I just cut my sim into microsim.
Will it affect my mobile network performance?

Is it better for me to just ask for a new micro sim from Celcom?
*
Not all sim can be cut to microsim. Some sims have larger contact points which will not work after cutting to microsim size. Best is to get a new microsim of course. biggrin.gif

Is anyone elses back capacitive button giving them problems? Mine has been acting up everyday, they say there's a software update that solves it, but no updates so far.

Pls tell me I'm not the only one, wonderful phone otherwise
*
Few questions :
- Do you use a screen protector that covers the back button as well?
- Are you using a flip-case or hard case or naked?
- Do you keep inside tight jeans/pants pocket?
- Did you root?
- Did you find that the problem started after installing certain apps? Or it has been like that since Day 1?

Your HTC One should be using 1.29.707.3 firmware version.
Please wait for 1.29.707.12 firmware update.

Malaysian sets don't have that firmware yet. Gotta wait, or perhaps the next one will be 4.2.2. biggrin.gif

This is exactly why I prefer on-screen buttons vs capacitive buttons.
*
Probably Google has patented that or does not allow other vendors to use on-screen back/home buttons, as my Nexus 4 already has it. I could be wrong, though but it's quite obvious that on-screen buttons are the way to go compared to capacitive ones - and there's just something holding them back.

QUOTE(omichael @ May 15 2013, 02:41 PM)
We say that now la.

Wait a few months... until the phone becomes less and less desirable, more and more common, and a new flagship model replaces it... then if it drops and scratches also most of us won't care  tongue.gif

By that time, it's time for HTC Two. tongue.gif

Where did u get the pouch?
*
Got it free from a shop when I got my Singapore iPhone 5 from them (before iPhone 5 launched in Malaysia).

It's those generic poor quality black leather PU pouches.

It doesn't really look good, but gets the job done - don't have to worry about scratches when I keep it in pocket with other items.

Love how when my HTC One is inside, the top part of the phone is exposed so I can still hear ring/msg tones clearly and can see the notification LED. biggrin.gif

but i have three problems..

1.There is a dust(?) in the screen, I have no idea how it went in. Sry I cant take picture of it becuz it is hard to capture = =

2.The back button is not really sensitive or it is laggy ?

3.the beats logo ... errrr can scratch lol
Can i go back senq and have 1-to-1 change ?

Let me guess, you always keep your phone naked in your jeans / pants

*
Yes, the only thing I use is Sharpness +1 and Exposure -1 since the camera tend to overexpose at times.

I'm using something like yours but the problem is the internal part of the pouch colour will come out after prolonged usage. It will make the edges of your phone stain with black. Will dropby a local leather shop and ask if can customize an ori leather pouch. I also feel that the best way to use this phone islet it be exposed. After all the aluminum body is what sets it apart from others.
*
Yeah. That is due to too much moisture / water being affected by the fake leather. I seriously have no idea where to get this type of pouch again if it breaks. laugh.gif but i guess certain shops sell them.

Argh stupid Maxis 3 days too late for them. Was planning to get plan from them alone with the phone but in the end I buy directly from SenQ...

Most people selling phones have minimal knowledge about latest gadgets lol. They only do business but not really love the gadgets, which is quite sad.
*
Most of the sellers are just trying to make a living, most of them don't have much education, etc.

But for true gadget lover, normally are educated, English-speaking chaps - which normally have jobs which are NOT phone sellers. tongue.gif

QUOTE(stephen2282 @ May 15 2013, 05:30 PM)
Get a battery monitoring app like GSAM Battery from play store. It shows the temp of battery. The highest I got from One is around 43 degree which is quite normal for the smartphones nowadays. But playing in air-conditioned room, the phone releases the heat REAL fast  tongue.gif so I guess the aluminium back is a very good heat sink, just will get hotter under higher room temp.
*
GSAM Battery app is a must have for HTC One cause the built-in battery monitor s/w in Sense 5.0 is pathetic (does not show OST, etc.), and nothing compared to S3/S4/NoteII.

Summary of the 1.29.707.16 updates ( system enhancement )

- Improve camera ( subjective, need to try yourself )
- More responsive back and home button
- Smoother and Faster UI performance

Any other users got or feel other improvement can add as well.

My first impression on the camera

LIKE : -

1) Very fast responding and shoot! Sometime it shoot before I know it.
2) HTC Zoe work as it advertise. Well not completely perfect depending situation.
3) Image are sharp enuf for my liking smile.gif of course if you think not sharp enough for you feel free to increase the sharpness.

Dislike : -

1) Not so friendly UI. My friendly UI as in referring more button for quick setup (etc a shortkey button to change mode instead of tap the 3 dot button then change there).
2) I love to activate touch screen capture but it is too sensitive sometime. Accidentally touch also can capture a pic already.
3) WB decided to give warm color on lowlight. Will test more to double confirm it.
4) 16:9 aspect ratio. It is subjective anyway because I always like 4:3 ratio. More data and details.

Next mission : -

1) Test daylight photo.
2) Test indoor photo (restaurant, cafe, more foods maybe? tongue.gif).
3) Test HDR in both indoor and outdoor.
4) Play more with Zoe to justify it's reliability.
5) VIDEO!

Just my opinion as not even 1 day user yet tongue.gif
So do you all enjoy the 4mp ultrapixel from the One? laugh.gif
*
IIANM, the One's Ultrapixel sensor is designed for a 16:9 aspect ratio, so there is no loss of data / details. For comparison, my BlackBerry Z10 has a 4:3 ratio standard cam sensor, and if you set to 16:9 ratio, details are loss due to cropping. This is what I think, haven't tested fully though on the One. biggrin.gif

Bro, let us know how is your battery life after update. Still holding back on the update until more users review on battery life performance. If it become worse, probably will hold off. sweat.gif

Awww, crap! Now to wait for users here to comment. The previous firmware is actually good enough for me, camera performance still acceptable and the UI is already very fast; so probably the hit on battery life for minor camera & UI improvements is not worth the upgrade. hmm.gif

QUOTE(jloi @ May 16 2013, 08:50 AM)
haha maybe you're right about ultrapixel for 16:9 ratio. But I use instagram alot and dislike how little space I can only crop sad.gif

I can't compare with previous firmware since I just got my phone yesterday and updated the firmware this morning  laugh.gif
Will monitor my battery life until end of my working day.

Note that I did not use power saver option
*
Oh yes, if you need it to be 4:3, then it's a bummer. But I love the 16:9 ratio. Cause I normally crop my photos taken by 4:3 camera phones to 16:9 anyway. laugh.gif

16:9 needs some getting used to. It may be too wide and short for convenient everyday use.

Please do update us on your battery performance later. biggrin.gif

Singaporeans commenting that Back and Home Buttons are a LOT more responsive after update, and definite improvement in camera. thumbup.gif

This a quote from the XDA thread earlier: "Thanks to recent HTC One Kernel Source release, I can can confirm that a Snapdragon 600 can have 1 of 7 possible PVS values: A higher PVS value is better."

Yours is PVS 5. and highest is PVS 7. So yours is technically good. laugh.gif

So probably it's apps / settings that's causing your poor battery life and heat. tongue.gif
