I took a package at Sang Spa, 5 hours including dinner in bath tub. They'll give you disposable underwear. The service was great. But keep in mind, it's a simple place. When I read the review on tripadvisor, I was thinking of a luxurious spa, which is not. It's just a simple place, with great service. Definitely worth the money.

I hired a highly rated driver at tripadvisor, he picked us at 9.00 and drop us at 3.00PM. That's IDR400k per-day.

Bali is so heavily commercialized, Wanna see waterfall? Walk 500 meter into the jungle, and expect a toll both. Wanna go to the beach? Pay. Wanna see volcano? Pay. Lake? Toilet? IDR5000 per entrance. Pay. Pay. Pay. Pay. Everything needs to pay.

And sunset in Bali, is not really spectacular. Wait till you see sunset by the andaman sea, where the sky turns purple rclxms.gif

I'm sure SangSpa is overated...but don't get me wrong, it might be good based on the rate but i'm sure there's other nice place which provide the same or better rate as well right? any other good spa recomendation?

Honestly I don't really enjoy Bali spa/massage. Nothing compare to the Thais. I can't imagine a massage without the sound of cracking bones..What kind of massage when they are more like washing you almost naked body rather than the soothing cracking hand of the Thais'

I've been to SangSpa too... it's a simple place with good massage and service @ reasonable price... thumbup.gif
Initially I was a bit worried too when i booked the place since the review was too good at tripadvisor and some even said it's overated... but definitely it lives up my expectation rclxms.gif

Maybe if you are looking for others, try Nur Salon or Spa Hati. Famous spas too in Ubud but it might be overated since it's heavily promoted.
In the end, you have to experience it to know the result... different ppl might perceive it differently biggrin.gif

Hey people!

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on tours or guides for climbing Mt. Batur. Im a bit confused about what is a good price and the kinds of things the different tours involve.

any suggestions would be great!

400K RP for a driver whole day is considered slightly expensive... shocking.gif normally can get around 300k-350k - whole day

What's the best price you gotten for Mt Batur trekking?

As far as I know, you can get cheaper if you negotiate at the starting point (Association of Mt Batur Trekking Guides) but of course, if you want to save the hassles just pick one tour. We read from somewhere, saying that those guides are being paid 300K RP per guide with a limit of 4 persons. The information might be outdated, but roughly you can estimate how much you can nego wink.gif

Website prices vary from USD45 - USD65. Some offered longer trek, includes natural hot spring, which of course you pay more. When we walked around the Ubud, the price is almost the same. Nothing much differ unless you nego kao kao with them...

We did the hiking last week... arrived airport at almost 11.30pm, paid 200K RP for airport transfer to Kintamani and 350K RP per person for hiking up mount batur. Since we went during the peak season and most hotels are fully booked, we decided to save one night hotel and paid the airport transfer instead. Luckily the tour we engaged gives us a room to stay at Kintamani before do our hiking at 4am biggrin.gif

400K ok la.. no need follow the route smile.gif anywhere we want to go, he will bring.

He got suggest a lot of place.. we go to Moon Temple la, What stone carving, Gold and silver, wood carving, and a lot more.

We skipped a lot of route as well.. coz too tired smile.gif

Well, the price i gotten, dont ask me.. it's a sad case, because it was arrange by the hotel... haiz.. pay more than i should have.. u know what.. if u go outside, 300K/per pax or 2 person... around ubud a lot.. actually there is 75K/person as well.

anyway, I was in Kuta.. the hotel i stay is Ellie's .. the Breakfast.. very very very nice .. only problem is the location very far from market place.. so, have to rent the scooter.. hehe..

Yeah, I stayed there on my last visit. The room is fine, but if possible, please ask they arrange you facing the pool view. I forgot which block is that,haha...
The receptionists are friendly, they knew I went there alone and always talk to me as well. Some how they already can remember my name, haha.

It is quite a distance if you want to walk from hotel to Legian beach. However, there have lot of pubs and disco within walking distance... haha... suitable for night life rclxms.gif

I have a very good driver, he is very honest and kind, however he dint speak much though.
He drove us with his Suzuki MVP silver color and cost RPH 350000 per full day.
We dropped our tripod in his car and he send it to airport to us without charging us!
