That fella who likes to delete my post sounded so damn MAN in the credit card section but when it comes to Helpdesk Section, he totally got no balls to explain his noob acts. Somemore those higher authority chose to protect that kid, although continuously being humiliated. typical 1Malaysia spirit

only those who did wrong will feel offended while others are just holding pop corn. those that are incapable should at least apologise but they chose to act stupid. this is leadership quality of LYN

This is not the first time ! I faced that a few times. Even I voiced out complaints regarding certain bank bad customer service experience, it got deleted as well.
No reason given, nothing !

Way too arrogant !

I believe this forum / sub-boards are for all the people to share experience and things. But having to delete off, it's ridiculous. Might as well just close the discussion board.

Just my 2cent. Moderator at least should PM if he / she find the post offensive then we as a poster will at least modify it.
*
Agree with you point.

personally i do appreciate Mod or Admin to point out the wrong use of certain so-called finance "term". But the attitude of being Guru in Finance or not friendly reply upset many members.

Sorry to say it make me feel like this forum belong to my father. Don't like my rules please leave.

Hi RBR and se7en,

I would like to report against @hye, the moderator at the Credit Card Section. He deleted my post because I was replying against him implying that he is wrong.

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 27 2013, 06:34 AM)
I'd like to remind our readers that GST are not waiverable for credit cards in Malaysia. If you wish to use credit card, pay the GST. Else if you insist to get GST waived then there's a great product for you - get the Citibank debit card. No need to ask others on how to get GST waived.

I hope I made myself clear on this long standing and never ending issue.
*
I replied that the GST could be absorbed by the bank depending on your usage. I have had a card that I swiped for more than 30K pa and when I called them they absorbed the GST for me. So I told him off that it's possible and I've been there and done that. Told him that what doesn't work for you doesn't necessary don't work on others.

You can check on your log on what I had posted in the Citibank thread in CC section.

He is the most arrogant moderator I ever seen in my 10 years lurking in this forum. He thinks he is the only right person in the forum. Not the first time I encountered these situations but I think enough is enough so I am lodging a report here. I'm not the only person that encounter issues with him as well.

I do hope to see him stripped off his moderation power and elect someone else who is more humble/knowledgeable and do not boost around as if he owns the forum.

I really hope the Admins could do something about it and NOT NATO. Thanks

second that. Moderator is there to help, not to simply delete our post.
Point out our wrong, not delete the post without any info.

The problem will start when the CC forum will be littered with multiple questions on how to waive GST.

Perhaps one way is to allow one specific thread and the thread starter should be responsible for the outcomes.

Is this the attitude of the Admins of LYN?  Promised to look into the matter but never did even after weeks.  Cannot set a good example but expect the members here to behave, totally nonsense!

Hi sis (or is it Bro).

I can feel your pain but unfortunately, since this is a free forum, not much u can do about it. Just continue posting and if its deleted, just PM the person your views / comments.

To say that u want to delete how to waive GST cos there is no regulation is just as good as telling people that u cannot ask for a better Interest Rate for your Housing Loan and just pay the price quoted.

Everybody knows that Banks are willing to waive GST for selected customers depending on your usage pattern.

OCBC Titanium is automatic waiver if annual usage is above a certain amount. Its in their T&C.

I managed to ask Public Bank to waive for me as I was a good customer. Citi, CIMB, Hong Leong refused to waive, so I cancel.

This forum belongs to [Se7en] and he is actually not answerable to us, cos we pay nothing. However, he is very polite not to repeat the famous UMNO mantra,

Kalau Tak Suka, <insert>, but I suspect, if u push him too hard, he may just say that.

Happy posting and mods, happy deleting moderating.

To add on, those who say that the RM50 GST is legally required, there is a difference between "Tax Planning" and "Tax Evasion".

Asking Banks to waive GST is Tax Planning cos the Govt still gets the RM50, just not directly from your pocket.

Tax Evasion is different. You cannot evade the RM50 GST other than to cancel your CC. So, no crime is involved here and although I am not a Lawyer, I will challenge anyone to prove otherwise.

That said, since I don't pay anything, I have no issue to my post being deleted. Just wondering how long this post will remain.

OCBC is offering RM50 as Annual Usage Bonus and it should not be perceived as automatic waiver for anything. No mention of waiver in their T&C. It is up to the customer to use the RM50 to offset or pay for the GST or he/she can spend it on other things.

NO. My Annual Statement and my wife shows an GST amount and the corresponding Waiver and my detail T&C Sheet says that GST will be waived if Annual Usage is at least x amount.

Properly because nobody properly tagged/ quoted him here? Not sure if pasting a quote indirectly gains you a "reply to me".

So here: hye

b00n, cherroy, and I have come to a consensus to allow discussions of "GST Waiver". The term may be technically incorrect (depending on your perspective), but it is not illegal and not morally wrong to discuss it.

Let's put this matter to rest now.

Its good that the Owners / Staff / Moderators of LYN are open to members feedback. To those who fought for this cause, congrats, but please refrain from further name callings or victory parades and lets move on for the next 'just cause' to champion.
