I'm gonna be first time android user.i plan to get the SHV-E300K version(Korean version).would I have any os update issue when I use it in Malaysia?....thanks.....
*
Firmware updates are not affected by where you aer geographically or what carrier you are using it with so no problem there.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to get the SHV-E300K?

i am wondering does GS4 google edition will have all the camera features like in normal S4
*
No, it'll be vanilla android, any software features that was added by Samsung will not be present. Third party apps will be needed to any features not present on vanilla android.

Ok..so what are the problems the s4 facing other than the battery, wifi, heating problem? Got any s4 user here who dont have any problem with their s4 .? smile.gif
*
I've yet to perceive any of my experience with the S4 as problems and I haven't faced those issues like camera issues, wifi issues etc. that has been described at times. Phone becomes warm during heavy tasks, but so does all other smartphones I have owned over the years as well as those I've had the experience of playing around with for an extended amount of time so I don't perceive that as a problem. Though note that I'm not using the i9500.

I am also waiting for s4 LTE. But with so many issues reported, cheap plastic , non LTE, low on internal space, camera issue etc. I seriously considering HTC one. Now maxis already selling. +rm100 u get aluminium phone, 32gb and LTE. Not bad right?

Basically you're here to promote the HTC One, go to the HTC One thread over there

You've obviously already made you're decision on which phone you want.

The Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) standard maxed out at 32gb, the Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC) standard was developed in order to produce bigger capacity SD cards which would max out at 2 TB.

Nope. Samsung screens still nicer. Happily using S3. Hoping they bring in bare android s4 soon. That is why Dilemma.
*
That is very unlikely to happen.
The closest thing would probably get the i9505 and put something like CM10 on it.
Being probably based on the SGH-I337 instead of the i9505 would also make it less versatile around the world since it lacks support for certain key frequencies.

Try checking out with these people
MTCS Group Sdn Bhd
6.19, 6th Floor Plaza Imbi, Jalan Imbi, 55100, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Going by spigen's website, they are the only authorised resellers in Malaysia.

Or just buy them online on ebay or something, even with delivery they can sometimes be cheaper than what local sellers are selling them for and it doesn't take that too long to get here. Beware of fakes though, lots of fake spigen products out there.

For wife new phone, can't decide S4 or Note 2.  Have to replace her faulty phone ASAP.
*
Whichever suits I guess if you can afford the price difference with no problem. I'm more of an S4 fan but the note 2 has some good points as well. Have you asked your wife which she would prefer or if she has no problems with the size of the note 2? Other than the obvious, how does your wife often use her phone?

Also note that the korean S4 will have very little if any community support for ROMs.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ May 18 2013, 09:27 PM)
IMNM, South Korean version can support multi band. 2600mhz is considered as Band 7.  Supported bands are: (Band 3,5,1,7,17). Again, I might be wrong.
*
Doesn't seem that way going by this, only two bands are supported.

How much if bundle with crystal clear SP?

The i9505 and i9500 have the exact same dimensions. Any cases that fits the i9500 will fit the i9505.

For those who whine about plastic:

Excerpt:
....Perhaps the biggest selling point is that this will be the only device you’ll ever own which appreciates in value. If you ever decided to sell it, it would be the only phone worth its weight in gold. Literally....

Now that should solve the problem for those that wants "premium" materials haha

Just found a solution for another one of my problems.
I'm not sure if there's any HD Voice (WB-AMR) services in Malaysia or not, but just in case anybody wants to know how to enable it if it's disabled by default on your phone. No Root or custom firmwares needed.

1. Dial *#0011#
2. Press Menu key,then Back
3. Press Menu again then Key input,Enter value 1,and wait for few seconds
4. Press Menu key,than Back
5. Press [7] DEBUG SCREEN
6. Press [7] WB-AMR SETTINGS
7. Press [1] WB-AMR ENABLE
8. Press Menu and then Back
And finaly 9. Press [6] WB-AMR Status, VIOLA, WB-AMR SETTINGS: ON and UMTS WB: ON

May I know what's the difference / benefit of doing this?

I'm not sure if Malaysian carriers have HD voice or not. If no, then there's no benefit.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wideband_audio
I have HD Voice where I am so I've been looking around on how to enable the thing and just posted it here if anybody else is seeking to enable it.
Basically there are three requirements for you to experience HD voice calls. First your carrier needs to make their network WB-AMR capable, then you need to have a WB-AMR enabled phone and is calling another WB-AMR enabled phone to get HD Voice. Without going into detail on the technical side of things, when you do get HD Voice, there is a huge significant audio quality difference between your average phone calls and HD Voice phone calls, similar to the kind of quality you can get when using certain VoIP services with clearer overall sound quality. There are a number of phones out that are WB-AMR capable but seems like the case of what Samsung did to the S2,S3 and S4, whether they are enabled or disabled by default is dependant on the region or carriers and if it's not enabled by default, you'll need to find out yourself how to enable it. Not sure if other manufacturers do the same thing as Samsung or not.

Edit:
Found these from last year, but can't find anything from Celcom themselves. Apparently, Celcom was the first in Malaysia to have HD Voice last year. Don't know about other carriers.

just that from xda thread counts, can see that i9505 is more dev friendly ?  brows.gif

Developers definitely like the s600 soc better than the exynos octa with qualcomm being more open with driver releases etc. and there's also the fact that the i9505 is the version of the S4 that's most widely available on a global scale.

The ones who will rejoice the most are Samsung investors.
