Samsung have just announced that the Galaxy S 4 has already sold 10 million units worldwide in record time, less than 30 days from its official release date. The Samsung success beats their previous Galaxy S III and Galaxy S II sales records by a considerable margin: 50 days for the Galaxy S III and 5 months for the Galaxy S II respectively.

The announcement also added that the Galaxy S 4 will soon be available in Blue Arctic and Red Aurora colours, with Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn to follow soon after. Samsung have had massive success with the Galaxy S range of phones and while they continue to combine good marketing and solid products it’s likely to continue.

In other news

Here we go again: another phone from Samsung brings another claim of patent infringement from Apple. While the issue Apple has with the Galaxy S4 is essentially the same as they had with the Samsung Galaxy S III and only required an amendment to the existing claim, this amasses a total of 5 direct patent infringement notices against the Galaxy S4. The technical details of the actual patents are quite in-depth but basically breaks down to behaviour of the device with swipe gestures and software setups.

What has intrigued a number of tech journo’s and legally minded individuals is the fact that the latest amendment includes the Google Now application on the Galaxy S4 which is, to date, the closest Apple have gone to having a direct swipe at Google themselves

You will see GT-I9505 from the box with Qualcomm 1.9Hz Quad Core Processor with LTE Cat3 100Mbps DL, 50Mbs UL as the specification.

In addition, you will get HD Voice feature as well.

For Non-LTE, please visit SEP Outlet to check it out.

Note that HD Voice needs to be enabled manually on certain phones.

Any opinion on the audio quality using headphone, as I'm still not satisfied with it even after several hours burn in time. Any recommendation for further improvement.

Other than use some other headphones or portable amp,
Try using this app if you haven't tried already https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result

Otherwise, would probably need to wait for supercurio to do his stuff.

dont think any reason to get LTE , since there is quota... LOL...3gb can easily finish up...unless its different "telco"

Most people don't chew through 3gb of data on their phones per month. I definitely prefer using LTE over HSPA+ if I can in Malaysia.

I'm assuming you're tethering your phone to your computer or downloading some huge games over 3G~~ again you're a special case ^^"

didn't know that
edited that post
but I wonder how they calculate
talk time (18:03 hours) + web browsing (7:24 hours) + video playback (12:30 hours) = estimate also just 28 hours) @@
how come get 69 hours hmm.gif

The final score in our new battery test is the most important one. It tells you how long would a smartphone need to go from a full charge to no charge if you played 1 hour of video, did 1 hour of calls and browsed the web for 1 hour over Wi-Fi for every 24 hours of stand-by. In other words, that’s the total endurance of your phone if you used it for three full hours each day.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/gsmarena-feature-...tery-life-test/

Basically, they are saying that if you only do 1 hour of each of the tasks daily, the phone will last for 69 hours before it runs flat.

LTE set also got camera crash issue?

Among the forums I've lurked in, this seems to be the only place where people are reporting camera issues. The huge majority of those forums uses the i9505 so I don't think it's present in the LTE version and I've definitely never experienced those issues.

hi ~
I am planning to buy a galaxy s4 but have some question hopefully someone could help me.

1. Does any other retailer beside maxis, digi, celcom that sells the LTE version now ? (I cant stand the stupid "coming soon" ad by maxis)
2. Besides the camera issue, is there any other major issue that requires noticing ?
3. Is there anywhere in the world that I could purchase a 32gb or 64gb version with LTE ?

thanks pals  biggrin.gif

1. Go look around the forum, anybody in Malaysia selling the i9505 are selling grey imports and not SME stock currently.
2. Not facing any, so no idea, google around.
3. As far as I know, there's no 32gb or 64gb i9505 being sold anywhere in the world. There are other versions being sold in south korea, japan and AT&T in the US that are 32gb but those galaxy S4 have different model numbers and the primary difference is the supported frequencies which you need to look at closely before buying as well as digital tv tuners in the korea and japan models which are mostly useless in malaysia.

Anyone know about the S4 korean version SHV-E300k ?
Octa Core with Malaysia LTE compatible

LTE(900(지원예정)/1800), WCDMA(1900/2100), GSM(900/1800/1900)

Since only Maxis uses LTE on the 1800 MHz band currently, theoretically it'll work on Maxis's LTE network but not with Celcom as they use 2600 MHz as well as it won't work in areas where maxis only have 2600 MHz as well.

Another possible problem is the 3G frequency support WCDMA(1900/2100)
Going by wiki, all Malaysian carriers uses 2100 MHz UMTS, HSPA for 3G so it shouldn't be a problem but seems Celcom uses 900/2100 MHz UMTS, HSPA. Going by industry standards, I assume Celcom uses the 900 MHz outside of Metro areas for data where the lower frequency can cover a wider area mass with lesser amount of towers as well as having better ability to have lesser interference due to obstacles such as walls etc. so that's another possible problem.

This is all theoretically and you need somebody to test it themselves to be 100% sure.
