Hi there. I'm from Singapore. I'm a serious collector of tank models from DeAgostini Tank Collectors Series. What frustrate me is the slow arrival of new issue over here. At the moment I have until issue no 31 which is the British Challenger Tank. I wish the members of this forum would able to help me in telling me where I could get the latest and newest series in Malaysia. I had been to Johor Bahru Time Square but the issue are all old issue.

If you can't find the triangle tip, a small-sized standard Allen key will do just fine. That is what I am using.

well, hobby shop don't really cater for such. Your next best bet is toolshops, but since you've stated that you've tried that already there, well, i can't recommend more. Mr DIY in my place do cater the triangular screw as one of many screwheads in its set.

hello there Rustam74, and welcome to our thread. ATM we too are just receiving issue 31 as the latest one (if taken directly from Allscript HQ), which makes us somewhat in the same timeframe for the publication number. Do check on the 1st post for the list and any related notes to the Combat Tank Collection.

when I get newer issues, may use back the display rack that I got when subscribe (I can put 18 tanks last time)
that one is dust problem but the tanks got a case so not much problem if clean the dust from time to time
(I simply sweep the dust every two weeks while admiring the tanks biggrin.gif )

My solution to placing 49 tanks from CTC, VsTank, Takara World tank museum, Forces of Valor, Trumpeter, Easy model and Dragon. All stacked up on table and close to wall.
Another 10 coming from overseas comprising of FOV and Dragon Armor so pray hard they dun topple.

Oops. I better check the alignment. Took some down to admire n think I probably messed up the alignment.
Had the display rack but takes up too much space.
The vs tanks are very nice but can get dusty quickly. So are the dragon armor n fov in details. The range for ctc is great tho. Already making space for 200 1/72 in the near future.

Well, it's an odd combination but I just love the 3d render scene only. I've bought plenty of those tanks coffee table books from Big Bad Wolf.

Luckily marriage still intact though she frown each time Allscripts brings in new goodies. She thought I stopped the subscription but apparently not.

Just received in Dragon M1A2, M1A1 with mine clearing, Leopard 2A4 and FOV Sherman from ToyHQ. BTW, I ordered 8 tanks and only receive 4 from ToyHQ. They just informed last minute no stock and do not even bother to update webpage of their stock status. So anyone oredering from them be forewarned.

I am also looking for the triangular screwdriver in Singapore. If anyone who lives in Singapore knows, pls let share the info.

I used to play World of Tanks as well. Nick is caijw though I am swearing off the addictive game for now.

*
Singapore latest issue is Issue 20. Far behind our neighbour. Check with Allscript outlet here. Got to go JB to get issue 32. Only plus point u can still get old issue easily, esp Issue 1. rclxms.gif Can make Tiger battalion for S$4.90 per tank. Btw Tamiya got special offer for its Masterwork series. Do drop by Stargek.

Hi guys, is it just me or do the new tanks seem to be coming in once every 2 or 3 weeks now? Doesn't seem to be as frequent as I thought.

Anyhow, I missed getting one tank about two months ago, and recently I bought 2 copies of issue 29 by mistake. Anybody interested in taking one off my hands? tongue.gif

Long time no posting here. How is the quality of the T-80 BV? Look like a bit rough compare to the earlier issue.

Off topic, btw, any one here collect the PMA Diorama Base?

Hi guys.

I have issues 1 to 34 complete with one binder and one unassembled display stand. All the tanks are unopened. Unfortunately, I cannot continue with this hobby as I am moving away for work. Anyone out there who wants to take the entire lot off my hands are welcome to message me for details. I would prefer to dispose of the whole lot at one go instead of by piecemeal basis.

Thanks!

Songcm@U move down to south under? I see a lot of people taking ELTS test to migrate to Australia when I was working for ELTS test center. Did U move all your tanks there too? Most are from USM arab students trying to move there - they took the test together with their whole family.

I do hope ends at 70 pieces....

From what I've seen, the quality of the models is the same. The only flaw is the simplistic construction and a lack of accuracy when compared to CTC. Dragon still makes the best diecast armor in my opinion. cool2.gif

Yes, I agree. This is a more complete evaluation.

I only have Dragon, CTC and 1 EM and I wld rank them in the same order. HM does look good, should rank them just slightly below Dragon.
As for FOV, I think some of the CTC models could be better than FOV.

Hi guys.
I'm selling all my Combat Tank issues. This is becos Allscript made a blunder by forgetting to send me issue 2 to 6. So, I have issue 1 (missing #2, #3, #4, #5, & #6) issue 7 all the way to the current issue (can't remember what issue smile.gif ). Last shipment of 2 issues I got was early July (last month). Tried looking for the missing issues but I think its a bit to expensive for me.

So, I'm selling all at RM30 each issue. The magazine & the tanks is in excellent condition. If you are buying only 1 issue, I'll have to put you on "wait-and-see-list" first cos I'm looking for collectors whom will be buying multiple issues. Please PM me the issues you are interested. Thank you.

It doesn't really matter what other people think, as long as you're happy with your purchase. That said, the Warmaster brand doesn't look too shabby in comparison to CTC/ Altaya IXO, and the price is right.

hi, u guys still using the 'toothpick file' (the official DeA CTC file) to keep your magazine? I am thinking to provide 'convert to loop file' service, which will add on loop staple ('earing staple' same as FAC) so that we can just can just keep the magazine in ring file.

wondering if anybody interested?

man, this tank collection is... POISONOUS!

i started with Chieftain(35) just because i like the tank, and suddenly i got 3 others - Type 61 (14), LecLerc(33) and T-80BV (36) !!

lucky that im not interested (yet) in WWII tanks ... so im going to collect Cold War/Modern tanks. right now 'hunting' for the Paladin (24)... hoping can get without the need of posting or going outstation tongue.gif

btw, here at Kuantan we managed to get only till issue 36. lucky you guys get till 38. i can only expect that 39 will arrive here on November :\

Figure is 1/30 - very much bigger than the tank in size
*

The figures are from this manufacturer http://www.kingandcountry.com

Check out the dealers page as some US have free shipping if buy a lot from them

No, these tanks are from manufacturer Dragon Armor - not the Combat Tanks Collection models. biggrin.gif

Excuse me fellow collectors, but i've just received some news. Fyi im a collector from Ipoh and I've been silently following this thread to get updates in latest issues. Today when i go to my local Popular to check out for Issue 36 (yes its slower here) and instead i found Issue 37. When asked is 36 sold out, they replied that the whole shipment of Issue 36 is missing, apparently it was missing due to the lorry used to ship has been stolen. They will ask the supplier (i assume it is Allscript) for Issue 36 but cannot guarantee its availability. Can anyone here confirm this?

Hello there.

I suggest that you find issue #36 elsewhere for the time being. I can't find issue #37 and yet over there they are selling it faster than my local area laugh.gif

If anything, try asking Vathi tomorrow.

So, what's the status on issue 41's StuG? Re-release in the future? It's only at 40 where I live.

long time never visit this thread, and got a shock reading that MY version will stop at 60!

I just called Allscript and they confirm that current decision (by DeAgostini) is until 60

Anyway Allscript also mention that the publisher does go through the forum (e.g. LYN) and we shall make some noise to let them know we want a full release of the series

Shall we form a petition?

by the way, the sales for Combat Tank series in MY is "not bad"

that is indeed bad news! shakehead.gif However,if they really intend to stop at 60,i hope that the next 20 issues are good.I hope that the tanks of the next 20 issues will be famous tanks. not just some transport truck or some sort of jeep. doh.gif

Just wrote an email to DeAgostini customer care. Will post the update

Talking about the next 20 issues, imho if they are "abandoning" us, they wouldn't bother to pick any good tanks.. will just follow the original sequences (our sequence is different with the UK dude)

Imho,if it's a problem with the stug 3 itself, shouldn't they just replace the stug with another model instead of skipping the whole issue itself? remember issue 11 when there is a problem with the patton and they replaced it with another model instead of skipping the issue itself? lol
(well unless it's just a printing issue back then)

Yes, those helicopters are quite big and take up a lot of space especially with the blades assembled. I collected a few issues while I was on overseas assignment. IINM, there should be 20+ issues.

Yup, more or less, since both are design and manufactured by the same firm
Although using different hull as basis, the design is similar biggrin.gif

none of our local issue so far (correct me if i am wrong guys sweat.gif)
i for one is always on the lookout for that diminutive hetzer. that small of a tank is indeed a beast for what it is worth. apart from crew discomfort and limited view, i find that hetzer is a very cute tank, to say the least tongue.gif

how much is that Taobao 1/72 scale tank cost? From penang, did not see any but I do saw the Easy model at WHM selling around@RM39/= after discount each. End up getting a huge 1/16 scale T-90 RC tank with spring suspension on 7.2v battery at Penang road toy shop. There was some 1/76 scale spring moving tanks selling at RM13/= each. Try to look for a AMX-30 but must are panther / tiger /jagpanther. Got some russina WW2 infantry for exchange with other similar 1/72 scale. Anyone interested?

I got that T-90 RC tank at RM90/= after bargain down from RM100/=. Remember saw that online selling for RM95/=. excluding postage. The owner told me most Hong Kong toy are going up due to currency factor. A lot of 1/35 painted figure at RM6/= to RM7/= each WW2 german soldier. I was looking for higher quality 1/72 figure but there is none. Got a Maisto Humvee in green in 1/72 scale from GAMA supermarket for RM6.90 with 20% off.

mcsiaw: No garage brother, just line up inside billy book cabinet. Some of the brand didnt come together with the plastic display case, like Easy Model and FOV tank.

Any boss mind to share ur tank collection cabinet photo? I wan to custom a cabinet to display my tank collection, but i have no ideal how it shud look like. Currently the cabinet i have is billy book case which is too deep inside, although can store many tank but only can see the front roll of tank. The one come as free gift by Allscript are nice but too soft and small.

the original purpose was to put my books (the big ones) and whatnot, but since i got a new bookshelf, the wall mounted ones seems redundantly empty sweat.gif
but yeah, should ask my brother do make another wall mount that isn't too protuding, yet can store more using more of the wall area instead

zemperor: Ya...it mix up all different brand inside. Dragon Armor, Hobby Master, Warmaster, Easy Model, FOV, CTC.......The Maus is plastic kit from Easy Model, originally it very light weight, i had done some touch up and add in some iron to make it more heavy and feel realistic.
