QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Oct 10 2013, 06:52 PM) Yea RT is failed to be an entertainment tablet with lot customizations like android does. However, RT is launched with main reason to target customers that want for light work and little entertainment. The microsoft office included are really helpful for students/workers at outstation. Good point! XD BTW I use Surface RT to play games too, though not many gamed out there.

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Oct 21 2013, 07:41 PM) My understanding is for users who successfully update to W8.1RT without incident, they will be safe-sailing (i.e. disaster hit you pretty much immediately if it hit at all ) I don't face any problem though. BTW challenge accepted.

QUOTE(marauderz @ Oct 22 2013, 06:21 PM) Why longer battery life is always welcomed, don't forget that you must also consider what you can do with that battery life. And for me, I can do much more with an x86 compared to ARM. When you want to "do much more", battery life will be sacrificed.

Once you update Surface to Windows 8.1, to close an app, you have to swipe from top to bottom, then HOLD IT AT THE BOTTOM, for at least 3 seconds, until there is an animation that the app screen flips, then only the app is closed.

QUOTE(pristine @ Oct 27 2013, 12:18 AM) That probably would have been better. But no harm right, not ending the process? I'm not sure, but it's the same thing as PC. You can save up more RAM for other programs. Maybe save battery too (Microsoft mentions that it won't consume battery though). Anyway it's a good practice to close any programs you don't want to use anymore for the time being. Your Surface will get tired yo.

QUOTE(red streak @ Oct 27 2013, 11:24 AM) How much is the battery drain while on "sleep" mode? I'm getting something like 1% drain per hour. Is that normal? Of course it is normal. The apps are still running in the background actually (well not 100%).

QUOTE(red streak @ Oct 27 2013, 11:59 AM) I was hoping it'd be more like the pc's sleep mode I guess I need to shut it down then. Do you know that when a PC is in sleep mode, it consumes battery also? I don't know about Surface Pro since it is PC alike, but Surface RT is a tablet. Not really need to shut down bro.
