Hmm... seriously, I'll get a laptop rather than surface pro. Anyway this is subjective.

I'm forced to buy touch cover as Harvey Norman I visited does not sell any other accessories. I tried it and feels that it is still acceptable for me.
Today is day 3 for my touch cover, and I'm satisfied with it. I took some time to get myself used to it, and it do works. I'm not a heavy typewriter, but touch cover is good for me currently. Compared to iPad, surface RT is better in practicality for me, though it's expensive. Sometimes I think, if I need a mechanical keyboard, I'll get a desktop keyboard and do typing indoor (or outdoor if it's convenient enough). BTW, love both the tablet and touch cover very much. Err... I'm thinking if screen protector is required, as nearly no shop selling screen protector for RT. This post has been edited by ZRong223: May 28 2013, 11:28 AM |

I think it's the matter of the pixel density when I found that the words are not so clear in PDF files though still readable.
Anyway I'm very satisfy with surface RT. used it to watch videos, browse and Skype, and some games like Tetris. Currently I still do not require x86/x64 programmes, so yeah it fulfill my needs, but quite sad as can't play heavy games like those from Steam. |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ May 30 2013, 11:14 AM) no choice since you are using an ARM device. I'm sure that gaming on Surface Pro will not fulfill my experience. Maybe during school holidays I'll go to stick to my desktop or in the future, get a laptop for both education and gaming. I like Surface RT in terms of both portability and functionality that cannot be found on iPads and Android tablets. exception if you use Surface Pro. i watched video that Surface Pro can handle far cry 3 at low settings. QUOTE(Xirality @ May 30 2013, 11:56 AM) Depends on the process that the applications are undergoing. For example, if you make video call with Skype, switch to other apps and switch back to Skype, there will be some lags, 0.3 - 0.5s of lag. Most default applications perform well. I'm pretty sure that most of the apps still need optimization though. Overall, it's damn fluid. (Let's don't make comparison with other OS here. I'm quite sick with it. QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ May 30 2013, 12:14 PM) Comparing RT and Pro is SUPER unfair you know...This post has been edited by ZRong223: May 30 2013, 12:18 PM |

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ May 30 2013, 02:31 PM) Surface pro, with the Intel HD 4000, can play LOTS of old games. I wonder if touchscreen is usable to those games. If this feature is available it will be amazing. All those point and click adventure games will be good candidates Recently, I installed Oblivion on my wife Thinkpad E430 (HD 4000) and it run and totally playable |

Freak. I saw some reviews saying that Bluetooth cannot transfer files on RT. Hell yeah~ It works well!
Too many nonsenses out there. I should believe my own sense. |

QUOTE(mules @ Jun 9 2013, 11:52 PM) Been using this baby for a while... so i will give my 2 cents again. I feel like RT suits you except for the Java and business part.light portable PC to be carried around that works. tying to use it as a tablet is not working well.... cause the heat is annoying and it is too heavy and all i did was reading manga on it. - waiting for a rubber glove to body this surface pro, hopefully it solve the slippery edge and minimize the heat from the back, i am a sucker for belly reading. Not suitable for gaming as the screen is too small but the processor and graphic makes powerpoint looks like a fluid TV. Still the idea of its power is awesome and i cant wait for a good app to fully utilize the HD4000. I will love to watch Dota2 international tournament on this machine at work really really need more apps and the pen is really under used cause lack of apps. Could be better but still a good working gadget to have. Unless you have a software that cant be handle by RT or your powerpoints stuttering during presentation, there shouldn't be a reason why you should get a heavier, hotter, pricier and thicker tablet. for me, it runs intranet that require Java and light enough to be ported between office and home. Yes, it is a sexy thing to be put on your working station instead of a big ultrabook that's eating up half your table. |

QUOTE(Lucassss @ Jun 13 2013, 08:34 PM) Been looking for the Surface RT high and low around KL. Can't even find one. Anyone has any idea where I can find one? Have you visit Harvey Norman Norman and Thundermatch around KL?I do feel like they cleared the stock of Surface RT and replaced them with Pro. QUOTE(shien @ Jun 13 2013, 04:08 PM) Everything has its own bright and dark side, dude.Try both of them by yourself. I'm using Touch Cover to type the documents. So far so good. QUOTE(Lucassss @ Jun 13 2013, 08:54 PM) If KL doesn't have, probably whole Malaysia doesn't have it already. I'm not sure if you can request for pre-order as RT is actually an official product in Malaysia.Of course you can look for good dealers in Garage Sale, and online through impart? BTW Surface RT is very nice for college life. I'm a Pre-U student. |

Just use external SD to store user files such as photos and music. For program files just install them into the internal storage.
Thus you no need to care too much about the performance of the external SD. I'm the sure every devices will work fine with this. |

You guys should compare Surface RT (and other Windows RT devices) to the other tablets. It's unfair to take it as the laptop replacement. It's good enough to say "iPad" replacement though.

People just do not like Surface RT with no ability to open normal exe programs. If not, this is always the main reason.
BTW I'm a college student. Surface RT is more than enough for me. I'm bad in giving reviews, but I would like to answer specific questions. Bought it earlier with original price before the price drop. I can tell everyone that I NEVER regret. It worth the price! Sent by Surface RT. QUOTE(Xirality @ Jul 25 2013, 01:21 AM) One of the reasons. The best thing is the Microsoft Office. I'm a student, and I need it a lot. iOS and Android can't help me with this part. Initially I'm interested in tablet. When I know about Surface RT, I am strongly attracted by this feature. QUOTE(Dominus91 @ Jul 24 2013, 11:52 PM) im worrying about the future of RT. If microsoft really wanna abandon this ship, then this is another story of WebOS in Touch Pad.. No. The store is different. And wanna ask a question, is the surface rt sharing same store with windows 8 phone? The store is actually the SAME with Windows 8. Microsoft promises to provide more than 2 years of support to Surface RT. I believe Windows RT will not so fast dead... This post has been edited by ZRong223: Jul 25 2013, 09:31 PM |

I say, if you have a notebook already and are considering a tablet, Surface RT suits you.
Pro is a laptop replacement. |
