Hi All, planning to get a Surface pro recently. but few questions for the surface pro owners.
1) How much HDD space using for Surface pro Win8?? 64GB model still got how many free space??
2) Surface pro 128GB RM3049 including pen?? Where to keep the pen??

thx
*
The pen can stick on the place you connect your charger. Its magnetic. Yes comes with it, you don't have to buy.

After updating, it can use up to 20gb including recovery partition. Personally I have the 128gb version. Even if you asked me again I will not even consider the 64gb model. If there were larger capacity models however I will definitely consider for them as the only factor is price.

Thx for the reply.

Actually i am thinking to get a 64GB model and get a 64GB SDXC card (64GB SDXC just cost around RM200). then win8 and some desktop files will be storage in internal HDD and SDXC for others files, that will easy for me to transfer file to others PC in office.
*
Your method works too but a highspeed SDXC is not cheap. Compared to the internal SSD, SDXC is really kinda slow.

For SanDisk Ultra SDXC Class 10 speed 30MB/s, average copy is about 20MB/s

SanDisk Extreme SDXC Class 10 speed 45MB/s

SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC Class 10 speed 95MB/s

but the Extreme and Extreme Pro is not cheap tongue.gif

i do not Surface Pro support Extreme or not. hmm.gif
*
The Surface Pro should support UHS1 cards as most of the bus is USB3.

Crap... Purchased 2 already doh.gif

PPS stand for?... sweat.gif
*
Well its good for a lot of things like web browsing and stuff and full desktop Facebook. Its an ideal device for games and social sites, sadly not many of those social sites have official apps for the RT.

PPS is the app you can watch a lot of movies with but Chinese sub only if not mistaken.

What about project powerpoint on projector?
*
You will need to buy the proprietary cable to output that, but yes it works wonderfully for Powerpoint and similar works.

Unfortunately Windows driver cannot be installed on RT, however network compliant printers like Canon MX410 works without any driver installation or Canon actually made RT drivers available to download via Windows Update.

Here's a positive review regarding RT: http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2013/02/2...est-comparison/.

They have their own pros and cons in their own way. I wouldn't compare them side by side because they don't even support the same file formats.

Oh yeah regarding the shock/vibration feeling when charging, I experience it with the HTC One as well which uses an all aluminium unibody design which is somewhat familiar with Surface's magnesium body.

RT doesn't have SIM slot right? We gonna solely depend on WiFi?

The USB can't be use to insert portable moderm because the installation is normal .exe which can't be run by RT OS. Does my understanding is correct?
*
Not entirely. A normal USB transceiver for keyboard/mouse works on the RT. I think it will be up to Microsoft's driver support for the RT.

I am looking for surface rt...and go for travelling..may i know whether it can play movies? Such as rmvb, mkv, other movies format.

I saved my movies in my external hard drive..and wish to watch movies using surface rt..let me know if possible so that i can confirm to buy it..

Thanks!
*
There are apps in the Store that allows the playback of mkv and others but the result is not very good, kinda laggy. Correct me if there's a new app update or something that provides better playability.

Hmm I'm not sure about which current video apps work well, since I don't have a chance to grab on hands yet  sweat.gif .
How about the music player? Is it working well when multitasking like browsing internet and listening to music at the same time,.
*
The Metro Music app works fine biggrin.gif I'm still looking for a OK mkv player now with the RT. The current one I'm using is kinda laggy and others are paid. Maybe will try them out and give you guys some feedback. By the way, the RM1140 deal is extremely good biggrin.gif

IPMart is not very famous but they are trusted. And the Touch Keyboard is easy to wash, I poured some dish washer and brushed it. Its good as new now laugh.gif
