Adverts are placed by "outsiders", technically nothing wrong. But when they reject similar advert placements by Pakatan, that's wrong. That shows clear bias.

well, it really depends who is the boss. If the shareholder (political group) says just publish, does the worker have the rights to say no? if the editor refuse, then shareholder will just employ a new editor.

Either way, we can agree that STAR is politically linked and to buy or not to buy, that just depends on your preference even though the books looks good.

For me, mainstream media's stocks is very vulnerable IF change government. So i would rather wait and see.

PS: i always take the analyst report with a pinch of salt.

Yes, accounting-wise, the stock looks solid. But IF we were to have a change of government, future direction of management and business growth is a big question mark.

And it seems like EPF is also anticipating a Pakatan win...its been selling down its stake on everyday basis.

EPF is like punter. buy low and sell high OR sell until other ppl join to sell and then EPF buy at more lower price. lol. hardly can use them as a gauge who can win or not. that's what i think.

I also monitoring STAR due to CIMB's analyst report.

however, i will only go in AFTER election IF BN wins. lol.

if BN loose, i will stay clear from Star cos it's obvious MCA uses STAR to talk about Vote DAP = Vote PAS. a bit irritating when they do this. Principally, i feel the advertisement concept is wrong. Not saying i support which party btw. lol

Why star? I couldn't understand even if Bn wins.

Media is a steady business ma...The Star happens to attract the biggest newspaper adex  blush.gif

Prior before internet age, I would agree, but now it is a very competitive business to run.
Physical paper cost may go higher due to wages increment, materials price increment, while paper price has tough time to adjust.
Online version, little people want to pay for it. Only can rely on advert.

Star's online version, is a bundled offer.
The offer is RM260 per year and it also includes the physical paper itself delivered.

I wonder why little people want to pay for this offer. wink.gif
Cheaper is no good? laugh.gif

Why would people read physical paper when online version is available?
It's so convenient to read on iPad these days. laugh.gif

How do you filter for 52-week low?
I have iTrade and also Jupiter, but I don't remember there's a function for filtering a list of stock for 52-week low.
