QUOTE(plumberly @ May 2 2013, 08:30 AM) Boon3, Noted and thanks. Sorry for my rockie's attempt at this analysis. I thought EPS is only available every 3 months and not like price which is available daily, and thus I did not include it in the comparison (on 2 Jan and 30 Apr). If I read it correctly, last EPS for UMW is lower than the past 3 EPS. Last EPS was in Feb. Maybe in Mar-Apr, it was doing better and thus the better price. Will know in the next quarterly report. Yes, some companies have very good price - EPS correlations (e.g. Nestle) while for others (e.g. MAS) the relationship is like brownian movement/3rd law of thermodynamic (i.e., random). Cheerio. EPS is quite tricky and misleading in land based co like UEM due to large land sales ( one off aka lumpy items ) and same results might not be repeating in future. They can offload the lands to a joint venture co and hence profit is recognized instantly , as compared to the slow method if they build their own properties in stages for sales.KInda take 2 to years to recognize the profits , much longer than the one off quick method. Care has to taken to analyse such companies. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: May 2 2013, 11:35 AM

Not buy also buy already lo, now down 6%++ from my entry price. Keep for now lo, what to do. Hope that MCA will not destroy it like what happened to Utusan on which my holding company lost about 90% of its invested capital. MCA also want it to continually pay dividends to sustain party income, right?

MCA took a big loan to buy over Star under its direct control, hopefully not ending like ex Multi purpose Holdings .

Going concern is a major risk for Star for this election, PR will definitely reform the media if they takeover Putrajaya, unless MCA sell off its stake to 3rd party This post has been edited by yhtan: May 2 2013, 11:49 AM

I also monitoring STAR due to CIMB's analyst report.
however, i will only go in AFTER election IF BN wins. lol.
if BN loose, i will stay clear from Star cos it's obvious MCA uses STAR to talk about Vote DAP = Vote PAS. a bit irritating when they do this. Principally, i feel the advertisement concept is wrong. Not saying i support which party btw. lol

Getting Started

|
I've got a question. If i've held MAS shares after the ex-date (i.e. up till now) how do I actually exercise the rights issue at 23cents? What are the procedures that I will need to follow?

But when they reject similar advert placements by Pakatan, that's wrong. That shows clear bias.
