Miao Kor, as an experience Polar HRM user, Is the HRM (BPM Zone) an integral part of your training and rides.
Last night I did a self test and my average speed is 27km/hr on a 40km relatively flat loop at 75-82% maximum heart rate Zone. If I continue to ride at this Zone, what will be my realistic target by the end of he year? I hope I can handle 40km/hr ITT with my ordinary bike as an achievement....can ah? |

Lol as we said... the most important thing is to hop on the bike and get a feel... you can't base all this from internet recommendations and our BS... at the end of the day... it's your bod on the bike... not ours... what you read are just base guidelines and not to be applied on the actual bike...I'm already down to my last two choices. my height 175. the guy in the trek shop told me to get 54 IDK about sizing ma. furthermore, there is a lot of measurements that the general internet fit calculators do not take into account...if you think 54 is right, go with a 54... we didn't say it's wrong... it's just safer to play a 50 in our opinion... and if you want to take 54 because it is available now... so is that your choice...we also said before from the beginning... no rush or rash decisions... QUOTE(butthead @ Apr 26 2013, 02:07 PM) the zones are practically your alarm... generally there is guidelines for each zone and i trust your zones are configurable... Thanks, I feel fresher after my ride last night, without over exertion. Without the monitor, I just tend to push myself whenever I could and not sure where do I go from there. At least now. I'm able to set my own riding program base on HRM and hope for the best.you monitor your HR when you ride at different intensities and find out what each range of HR feels like... so you set the zones to act as alarms so you know if you still have buffer to push harder or start to hold back or fall into recovery zone before you wear yourself out... there is no way to tell how much improvements can be made lar...miao is not your trainer and he can't make guestimations... it depends on how much you can push yourself at the end of the day... because the harder you push the more resistant your body is to giving out under duress... always aim to ride harder and longer as events like ITT is always solitary and it depends on how hard you can push yourself without the motivation of someone to chase down... No ITT event, just self-time and to know my limits, and if I can go 40km, that will my accomplishment, not thinking of going into competitions for faks.... My future plans will be BKT rides to Klang, maybe this 1st of May.. Can you please chart a course, to and back for me(others?) let's say leaving DPC at about 7am. Also which BKT shop would be nice. thanks. I have Never rode more then 1 km radius of my car- spare tubes and pumps, pryers, which I don't currently have? Maybe just Flagged a taxi home as an alternative if puncture happens. |
