This you mean?
Method 1:
Disadvantage : Here you will get full root access, but here recovery will remain stock, so you won't have option to flash zip files (still you can flash zip with Mobile Odin), but you won't have any option for Nandroid backup/Restore.
Advantage : You have to reset flash counter once only, then whenever you need to reset to unroot/ready to claim warranty, just you need to go to superSU - setting - unroot.
So If you are Flash counter conscious and really don't have need for nandroid backup, This one is for You.

His mentioned disadvantage can be easily overcome . Just use Mobile Odin and flash the TWRP recovery img.tar file and you will have recovery installed
The TWRP img file can be downloaded at :

Do you already have TWRP then?

If so you may start enjoying the pleasures of flashoholism.

You used Odin or Mobile Odin? Anyway, as long as your phone is booting, and you can access recovery, you should be fine. I understand the trepidation of your first time hahahahahhahaa.

Please remember to wipe everything. Don't perform dirty flashes like alexng2208 with his durex covered phone. He keeps going on about texture, *censored*censored*censored* etc.

recommended of course is full wipe to make sure nothing brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif is left in the phone

in twrp, just select factory reset

once you have rooted, its a whole new world of happy flashing ROMs

always do nandroid through twrp (if you have it installed) as its the best reset button

full wipe means near-virgin phone, sort of. Full virgin means unrooted and no triangle tongue.gif

Full wipe means to clear everything from your phone like new. Post 7 has steps to access recovery via the 3 button press. Or you can download some apps that reboot to recovery from the UI like QuickBoot or others.

Just to share my experience... for the efs problem / generic imei.. you can go to 1U second floor and get them to help. If it is under warranty then it is free. If no more warranty, they say will charge a minimal fee. My fren's unit didn't get done in an hour, but instead 7 hours later they sms to say the unit is ready. While at the counter, the fella said one week!! But no arguments there, cos the counter guy didn't know what was the problem. I guess the technician was working the afternoon shift that day.

During pick up, again the guy at the front counter said we changed your mobo. We don't believe that, but we smile and say thank you. Now it is working as it should. AND PLEASE BACK UP YOUR EFS.
