QUOTE(puchongite @ Nov 28 2013, 03:04 PM) Long time ago I used to frequent the goreng poh piah stall. Is that the same stall ? Since it's hot from the wok, it's absolutely delicious ! Yes it is the same stall but somehow the taste is not the same like what we use to have during schooldays.

alot of people trying to open business on and off but can their business sustain the high rental and hidden overhead monthly.
it is pointless to do business and wasting time and effort just to maintain the business and making loss monthly. just dont understand sometimes alot of business owners have plenty of $$ to spent/invest but not going anywhere and some more loss $$ and close shop.
even those old timers doing business for decade is closing down. can the new one be that successful. if people have that kind of $$ better keep it rather than wasting/dumping to the drain indirectly.
majority dont have passion for their business they open as can see. alot is half past six altitude for the fun of opening business and be boss. dump $$ lose never mind plenty to lose. easy come easy goes
majority of the business owners dont have skills/passion in their business. alot of them rely on their workers. if their worker resign oneday maybe the business will go kelam kabut. how long can they maintain their workers and is their any future for them by working there? No right just temporary is ok but not for long.
workers working in those shop/business have no future for them. dont waste time
alot of old timer either is retiring and whereby the new generation dont have the skills/mindset/lazy yet to maintain the quality/ to take over the business yet bcos new generation people are lazy and just want to to get rich fast mentality. talk more work less (goyang kaki/ walk walk stand stand altitude dunno what they want to do or good at) no $$ just ask from parents.
alot just waiting for miracle to comes/ just pass time daily. no direction at all

indeed very true what mlpk mentioned. ss2 have been going downhill. looks like the only glory gem belies in the vacant land to stir back up excitement when it develops. but for now, it is almost like any business which opens shop, is being timed for closure. let's see how long does the newcomers such as nandos, ipoh big tree noodle store, etc can last.

Finding parking in SS2 even at night time is still difficult meaning the crowd is still there. Due to high rental only the best or more competitive shop will survive and it will be good for the consumers too.

people who open business at the double storey houses were having difficulty with their neighbours. whereby neighbours voice out to them houses were mend for staying and not doing business. if dont have $$ dont open business if want to do business better do it properly at a proper shop instead. seldom people walks in those doing business in the houses.
customer cars parking along the roadside of the house and causing traffic jam.
business people were getting out of hand opening more n more along the road. even opening cafe etc. rather ridiculous have plenty of $$ to spend for renovation, giving saman etc but reluctant to rent a proper shop.
prefer to get saman from mbpj monthly/weekly/daily

SS2 to get new morning market complex and food court facelift.
The Star 28/1/2014 PETALING Jaya’s SS2 business district is due to get a make-over with a new food court and a morning market complex being built.
This was revealed during the official launch of the new roof for the Jalan SS2/60 basketball court, which was upgraded by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) late last year.
Former MBPJ councillor for SS2, Tony Cheong, said there were other projects in the pipeline for the SS2 business district.
“In the MBPJ budget approved last year, funds were allocated to build a proper morning market complex,” he said.
This development will see the famous SS2 night food court being integrated with the morning market, as well as rooftop parking facilities and integrated waste collection.
In the last budget meeting before the councillors’ terms lapsed, Cheong said the allocation for the morning market complex was around RM5mil.
The row of hawker stalls across the Sea Park police station will be rebuilt at an estimated cost of RM300,000.
An additional toilet will be built at the intersection of Jalan SS2/61 and Jalan SS2/60, equipped with a diaper-changing room for mothers with infants.
“The council, I was told, will also ensure free state-provided WiFi service, similar to coverage at the SS2 night food court.” said Cheong.
Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin, who was also present at the launch, said the upgrading of the basketball court was the first of several such improvements in the SS2 area.
