our S3 thread seems kind of dead now that S4 and htc one is out

Not really but I can say is pretty slow cause many major S3 player already start posting in S4 forum.

I think you are lucky, Maxis are having their latest promotion for S3 which priced at Rm599 with monthly commitment of RM96 for 2 years contract. Non maxis sub have to pay RM 1k upfront too.

Not really, it comes with better performance, better battery life, better quality screen with slightly bigger screen size and some extra TW gimmicks such as Smart pause and Air View compares to S3. Unless S3 is suffice enough for your expectation, then you can skip the S4 and wait for Note 3.

Usually mine jumps to about 40C or more which is quite warm, especially if you are not using a case

In term of battery life is still early to justify with all features and bigger and higher dpi. When S3 received our 4.2.2 those TW features no longer surprise for S4.

For performance S4 may felt like S3 or slightly faster with all those gesture apps enabled by then developer will come out ROM without bloatware to make the phone lighter, by then the phone will consider great!!

By then S4 is only with higher processor, screen, RAM and camera... that's all...

what s4 did a good job is that the sim card & ext sd card at the middle part. so s4 really cooler than s3 alot.

how to close the gmail in s3?
I am recently reset my s3 and
Look at the setting ----battery that say gmail cause about 50% of the battery usage
But I don open the gmail.

Also how to close gmail?

disable it in all applications if you don't use it

or dont let it auto sync if u use it daily

Untick Sync under Gmail settings. After that, monitor your battery usage again.

Alternatively you can always freeze the app. Root is needed. Use System Tuner or any other similar apps

can try this > setting > data usages > click on the menu ( the bottom left) > untick auto sync data.

it will disable all your auto sync
