anyone still hv SDS after update to at least MA2 ?

Just now, i thought my phone got SDS. The LED was blinking as I have Whatsapp message coming in.

Press the power button/home button didnt wake the phone.

Try call from office phone, have the call tone but at S3 still didnt wake to show incoming call.

Try charge the phone, still didnt wake up.

Try connect to PC via USB, the PC detect and installing driver but nothing shows in My Computer.


Try VOL UP + Home + Power button, the phone reboot and went into recovery mode. After that I chose reboot device, and I can use it back.


Wonder what cause this.

Suspect the kernel setting i use especially governor + CPU/GPU undervolting.

My phone is on stock MD2 + Boeffla Kernel 2.11 beta2 & everything is stock.

nope, i just use the light undervolt option . in before just do light undervolt option for CPU. early this morning, try GPU. (can refer to attached screenshot of the kernel tweak app for options available)

still can use as usual ..receive call/sms/browsing/email/whatsapp


after lunch, the phone cant wake up.

and my phone is now 6 months old (bought on 4 dec 2012) that why i thought SDS

if undervolt to much, the phone is unresponsive and after reboot, it just stay at samsung logo only right?

maybe, btw, flash beta3 right now.

Hope not. BTW backup my data right now. And if still happen, hope still have chance to revert back everything to stock.

If my phone is SDS, and my system status is modified, really can not claim for warranty?

Except you buy your phone in Seng Heng and got extended warranty from Seng Heng.

You can refer to Chainfire Auto Root (CF-Auto-Root). Both CF-Root & Exynos Abuse outdated already

from my understanding, first 12 months warranty is on Samsung itself. If u send to the place you buy, they will also send it to Samsung. After 12 months warranty, the warranty is from the place you buy only. i.e. Seng Heng .



Framaroot use Exynos exploit right? It should not work if S3 is already updated to the latest firmware which include Exynos exploit patch.

Nope... it should be 150% work i think...

1. make sure your battery is above 50%
2. download cf-auto-root, make sure for your s3 version i.e. as for me, GT-i9300. if it in zip file, extract it
3. make sure you already install driver for your s3 in your PC or at least Samsung Kies.
4. enter your phone into Download Mode (vol down+home+power)
5. connect your phone to PC via USB . and let your PC finish driver installation first
6. Run Odin, and wait for Odin to detect your phone
7. select cf-auto-root tar.md5 file in PDA section
8. dont change anything else, click flash
9. your phone will reboot twice, and finally rooted.

But , as our friend nokia6280 said, it doesnt hurt to try Framaroot as it should be easier and then report back here.

having huge battery drain before because of Media Server wakelock. backup all files in external sdcard, but some file cant copy, and reformat my external sdcard, now running good. no more awake from Media server

and not too long for the first leak for 4.2.2.

except using old bootloader

side sync dont work at all... phone screen sharing works. can record , screen shot, control ur phone from xp. can even unlock it.

drag n drop copy file also work..
