wonder why my phone cap temperature @ 38 degree celsius only.. can't go up more..

normally yes. but if u keep u phone "on", on a very hot environment, it can get very hot (40-50). for example, using gps while driving, phone on dashboard or windshield (not tinted) on a very hot day..

maybe u can try force stop recently installed apps first before do factory reset.. if u r lazy to install back everything.. but factory reset is the easiest to know whether its software or hardware problem..

If u mean the press home button n press the trash can icon, yes done it. Will try to uninstall 1by 1 1st and if nothing change, i will do a factory reset. So lazy to install n configure my apps back. But do have suspicion on dolphin browser beta, i uninstalled it and my temp is now hovering around 40-42c.

These 2 days my phone is acting really weird. The temp will go up till 50c for no apperent reason. I already install watchdog and cpu monitor to see if there is any rogue apps thats causing this. Didnt find any. Use BBS and cpu spy to see if i have any wakelock problem, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Just went pj sc 2day to change my usb cable, asked them and they say have to leave the phone 2-3 days. And they say usually they solve the prob by wiping the phone and do clean install. Im trying to avoid that (+ i didnt unroot my phone).
Any of u have this prob? And i saw at shops 2day got this phone holder we can clip at the aircon vent. Is it safe to put our phone there for long period? Coz thinking of using it while i try to find whats causing this heat issue

Actually the phone can sustain up to 58°C continuously for 8hrs without problem or shutdown. I did test it myself last time with Stability Test. The phone pass with flying colour.

I don't know as the temperature hover at 58°C only during those 8 hours. You can try with your phone if you want to...lolz brows.gif

But it shows that it need higher than 58°C to trigger auto shutdown.

Guys, a noob question. If we are to flash S3 back to stock ICS rom, is it just place the Home.tar at PDA slot in Odin and ignore others? Can we update via OTA once revert back to stock ICS? Thx in advance. smile.gif

You rooted your phone before this..?

If yes..TA it first before flashing those ICS firmware.
You need to put those .tar files in PDA only and ignore the others.

If you flash our local stock ICS..yes..you can receive FOTA after that.
