QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Apr 23 2013, 04:03 PM) It's actually a very nice theme, I love the colours and all the new accessories. It's a nice addition to any City theme but only thing is the minifigs are not compatible. Agree with bro Caryane below, I don't like the dolly minfigures. It's nice to see but not so posable like the standard minifigs... Heck, they can't even sit down with their butt properly joined to a seat! lol! QUOTE(Caryane @ Apr 23 2013, 04:04 PM) Both are my favourites from this theme! QUOTE(vey99 @ Apr 23 2013, 04:17 PM) I'm also quite interested to get the Hulk, may I know which set has it? Hope it is not a discontinued set...Anyway, more pictures... Star Wars theme! I have to admit the 7965 Millenium Falcon is growing on me just by holding the box alone! It is quite heavy! A very "dense" box, not the usual sets where there are lots of extra room. No wonder it cost so much! So I'm expecting this falcon to be another solid masterpiece once built up... |

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ Apr 23 2013, 04:46 PM) Hee Hee. Nope, I'm not going to break the rules and do business here! Sorry bro, pretty much everything are pre-ordered by my friends and me. Some of my sets I can let go because I can re-order again but my friends' stuff I can't decide for them. We worked on this combined order since Chinese New Year... If you find something you like in the photos feel free to pm me and I'll let you know if I want to let them go... Some of the sets are also for a few forum members here. I'm just spreading the poison with the picture spam... hee hee QUOTE(hades4eve @ Apr 23 2013, 04:53 PM) Aiseh.... a seller FFK me... already talking to grab the set from him and even have the courtesy to ask him to offer me for the set. Not only no offer me price, but sold the set to another person which was come in later on. QUOTE(travelbugvee @ Apr 23 2013, 04:57 PM) I also kena last week. We were discussing about the box condition and the next thing I know - it's sold QUOTE(hades4eve @ Apr 23 2013, 05:07 PM) You see, its not that I cheapstake ask for discount or whatever, I'm actually offering the seller to offer me a price... Seller didn't offer me a proper price then already agreed even where to COD..... and this seller FFK and now twisting the whole bloody story around... wth.... Sorry to hear that guys... Well, look on the bright side... Your money is safe! (for another day) hahaha! You know who you are. Next poison is for Lego City fans... Palace Cinema. My daughter will love 4429. |

QUOTE(vey99 @ Apr 23 2013, 05:47 PM) I bought my CMF Series 7 from him. Good seller and very reasonable shipping but I suppose if you buy Mr. Gold you will want all sorts of insurance cover! lol!QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Apr 23 2013, 05:49 PM) Sharing is caring bro!! Btw, before I continue with more poison, can anyone help confirm this? Another forumer and I would like to know if the track from the train sets are compatible with that from 6857 Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape? I know I've asked this before but would like to put it to rest once and for all... Below is a picture of the regular train track, the track width is 4cm. Can someone help check the track width of the tracks in 6857 please? Thank you! |

QUOTE(paanjang16 @ Apr 23 2013, 07:18 PM) The gauge of the track is different. The one in the Batman set is for those mine cart tracks with sharp turns and steep climbs and falls. Great! Thanks for the confirmation!! After looking at BOM, I think I know who this guy is.... but I do agree the last one is a little bit too personal So many people spamming train sets here. The only train set which I have with the track and motorized is this old model 7898. This was a time before Power Functions. Instead it uses this huge motorized chasis for the locomotive. The thing about train sets is how big the track are! It almost filled up the open area in my old room then. Definitely need a big table to display the train set. ![]() Yup! Totally agree, train tracks will take over your room and then you start thinking what should you put in that big space inside the loop... A Lego City!! |

My last two pictures before signing off for tonight...
This is for the Chima fans: I'm not into Legends of Chima but my supplier dumped me a big stack of stickers! (bottom right) On the left is the poster I posted earlier and on the top right is actually the Lego catalog for 2013 (Jan - June) featuring The Legends of Chima on its cover. Clearly TLG is pushing Chima very hard! This is a journey back in time for some of us oldies.... For those of us here old enough to remember, we used to find Lego catalogs like this at the toy shop and department stores. They were free to pick up and I used to drool over all those sets I didn't own! Held it like a Bible and dream of owning it one day... Haha! I thought TLG don't produce/distribute catalogs like this anymore in the age of the internet but I was delighted to have received this! Has anyone seen this in LLM? And ladies and gentlemen, the grand finale of my picture spam... The sets that you have seen in all the pictures only require one car to haul back. Ever wonder what were in the brown boxes at the bottom of all the pictures? Sealed in original Lego carton box and in perfect condition. Go google the number if you still don't know what it is. I needed the second car for this lot! Good night folks!! Enjoy! This post has been edited by Lego_Jason: Apr 23 2013, 07:57 PM |

QUOTE(vip @ Apr 26 2013, 08:03 PM) any know or experienced before buying from the brinklink? Hi, the explanation is going to be very long and I don't have much time right now... I'll do a quick one and hopefully others can chip in to complete the whole picture... normally how much they will charge for the courier lets say USA or EURO can share the operation or progress? really wanted to buy some retired series even used set also can thanks As a rule of thumb shipping from USA will be much higher than Europe. Some of the better or more experienced sellers/stores in BrickLink will list the shipping charges either in their splash page or store terms tab. I will normally buy from stores who publish the shipping charges as it is more straight forward and to me it is also an indication that the seller is experienced with overseas orders. If you really need to buy from a store that did not publish the shipping charges then just send them an inquiry first BEFORE placing an order. So far from my experience all sellers responded positively to my inquiries. Sometimes you may come across stores/sellers who has the items you want in their inventory but they do not ship to Malaysia. Unless the seller is already very specific in the splash page or store terms that international shipping is not available it doesn't hurt to ask politely if they would consider shipping to you because in most cases they will! Hope this helps! Have a good weekend! QUOTE(zemperor @ Apr 26 2013, 08:05 PM) from KL to LLM only 2 and half hour? I thought require 3-4 hours... Definitely do-able with the car he's driving. I've seen it! maybe difference of 110 and 160/180... But all $$$ going to haul Lego sets, no more left to LLM |

Good morning bros and sis! Was busy with work and tax returns last week, now have to spend hours catching up on the posts! Looks like we're hitting V10 this week!
QUOTE(vip @ Apr 27 2013, 07:15 PM) thanks bro for the info If you are only buying a small set usually you will escape tax. I think the rule of thumb is anything below RM500 in value is exempted from import tax, bear in mind your shipping cost is also considered part of the overall import value meaning Lego + shipping less than RM500 is exempted. The import tax is 10%.the response was fast from the seller ,luckily the seller know i am the new user as i register few 1 week before. he cancel for me for the deal. as the shipping cost is more than the 40USD during check out i was thought like the usual online shopping site there is auto calculate the for the shipping charges. when i click next, order is made. if forced to proceed the order, i will take it. luckily he give me the option to cancel sifu, how abt the kastam side? are they charge for the tax? thanks. really desprate for some of the retired set Mind sharing what are the sets you are hunting? I think USD$40 shipping can only be a medium size set. You may want to try a European seller? The prices may be a little higher than USA but shipping will be cheaper and it may work out cheaper overall. Another good source will be Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Shipping will be very reasonable within Asia. Hope this helps! QUOTE(hades4eve @ Apr 27 2013, 09:53 PM) Hand itchy edi... Dunno should I buy Emerald Night or not Bro you are really hauling like no tomorrow! hahaha! Super envy you! Anyone got Set 7130 Snowspeeder? Need 1 set to complete my Rebel collection Wow! Emerald Night price starts from USD$245 in BL! Hmmm... wonder if it's cheaper to build from parts? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This lady is seriously poisoned by train! hahaha! I have a contact who makes scale models for housing developers and he uses LED and fibre optics to light up his models. I've been meaning to check with him so since you brought this up I will check it out maybe this week.do any of you here have any idea/suggestions? can share? got it from daiso...so RM5 i used it to sort, pick up those small small lego parts, put sticker, etc seems useful for me...else i m leaving too much finger print on the sticky side and senget also.... me noob at applying those sticker I have those tweezers too but bought them for other purposes, I did try to apply stickers with them but it ended up worse than applying with my hand because I get all clumsy with tweezers! lol! Just watch out when using tweezers that you don't pinch them too hard otherwise you will leave a deep mark on the stickers where the tweezers were holding them... QUOTE(aba9785 @ Apr 29 2013, 10:19 AM) got it.. Yup! Unless you plan on making it a permanent display it's a good idea to have it battery powered, that way it's much easier to move the set around and for ease of storage too. Nowadays with LEDs power consumption is minimal and batteries should last quite long.since our lego set is smaller, i think need to be battery powered? then less wire the better? else the wire will show up... i'mt too lazy to DIY (too long no much those stuff), planning to buy something cheap off the shelf thanks..noted on the tweezer part Between LED and fibre optics I would go for the later but it could be expensive. I lilke fibre optics as it means I only need one main light source and then I can run the fibre optics to wherever I want to light up. It will be a challenge to conceal the wires for LED lights and the wires will be thicker and more visible than fibre optics. Fibre optics are clear transparent, slimmer and lighter so is much easier to work with imho. It's all theory, I have yet to try it myself! Unfortunately you may have to do some DIY if you want it to look neat and have that professional look. One of the things planned for my city is to light up all the street lights, for that I plan on drilling a tiny hole in the lamp post so I thread the wire through it. I'm already eyeing a Dremel tool set in Amazon, sadly don't see it being sold here... QUOTE(scoop7 @ Apr 29 2013, 11:03 AM) lol! Injecting full dose of 6868 poison now... QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Apr 29 2013, 11:11 AM) My tools of trade ? No pics yet, but it's: Yeah, it's painful pushing those Technic pins but isn't it risky with the screw driver? A slip and it can leave a deep gash in your fingers... Also risk scratching the Technic pieces...- yellow Stanley flat-head test-pen (to push axles, pins. If you play Technic, you will know. - smaller flat-head screw-driver (to open battery box, remote) - brick separator from old Technic set. - scissors and box-cutter knife. QUOTE(Caryane @ Apr 29 2013, 11:31 AM) Just get the set bro, it looks so much more ganas after this modification. I used to use a blade too, same technique as you and it works well for me but now I'm too lazy so just use fingers. I think with practice using fingers is also not a problem... Yeah, I guess nobody like to apply stickers! Well, except for my daughter but I wouldn't dare let her do it! lol! Yeah i used the blade to apply stickers. I stick half of the sticker on the blade then adjust them on the LEGO. Once everything is in place then i stick the sticker on the LEGO and slowly remove the blade. No scratches |

QUOTE(ilfort @ Apr 29 2013, 04:04 PM) Depends bro, if your box is damn heavy and big one, after count all would be 11% like that, this is my case la. Yeah, most of the time the tax works out to be about 11% from the value of the order. IMHO I think it's because customs use a different exchange rate from us, they will do their on conversion and levy the 10% tax rate based on their computation hence the end result to us is about 11%. |

Here's some updates on sets to be discontinued or already discontinued courtesy of my supplier:
June 2013: Monster Fighters, City Space, Creator sets 5766 & 5891, 1st series of Chima Speedorz, LOTR 9469 & 9472. December 2013: 10197 Fire Brigade & 10227 B-Wing Starfighter Recently discontinued: 3677 Red Cargo Train & 7965 Millennium Falcon 3677 and 7965 prices have not moved up yet as not many are aware of it, there are still stocks floating around either in distributors warehouse or retailers' stores. As far as TLG is concerned it is EOL and will no longer be rolling out of their production lines. As usual, once the remaining stocks disappear from the market prices will start to head north... I regret selling my 3677, if I knew it was going EOL I would have hang on to it! You know who you are, you got a good deal! Lucky the persons who approached me for my 7965 wanted to think about it, so now sales is withdrawn. I want to play with it and was considering selling thinking I can re-order but since it is already EOL I want to keep my only set. I'm still trying to sapu whatever remaining sets of 7965 from my supplier but still no reply from them, maybe they are also stocking up for price appreciation! The retirement of 10197 Fire Brigade is expected, still no official words from TLG regarding retirement dates for 10211 and 10218. Don't wait too long though, I think it will be soon too... I was shocked to see 10227 B-Wing Starfighter in the list, I wrote to my supplier for clarification but have yet to hear from them. Hope this will help you to plan/expedite your Lego purchases! |
