Here is the info after i checked at pos.com.my
Date Remark foreign office
14 March 2013 Domestic Dispatch GERMANY
13 March 2013 Internal Process at (MYKULA) KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA GERMANY
13 March 2013 Send item to customs GERMANY
13 March 2013 International Acceptance(MYKULA) KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA GERMANY
*
Hmmm.... Is that the entire tracking history?

So when was it actually shipped out from Gerrmany? The tracking is a little misleading but it does look to me that it is still in Germany on 13th March...

Normally shipping from Germany only takes about 1 week plus but there are always exceptions...

Nothing you can do except wait... I'm also waiting for two parcels from Poland and Russia. More than a month in transit already.... The Easter break could have upset delivery schedule somewhat, that's me comforting myself. Lol!

QUOTE(yhlee12 @ Apr 17 2013, 10:23 AM)

by the way, would like to ask about the post malaysia processing fee when items are held up in customs. if you have few deliveries / boxes held up, do you pay RM49.8 one time to clear all the bills, or multiple 49.8's for the few different delivery notes?
*
Well, simple way of understanding this is every custom clearance form = RM49.80.

Let's say you have 5 boxes and they all have their own individual waybills/tracking numbers then theoretically Pos Malaysia can issue up to 5 custom clearance forms meaning 5 x RM49.80.

But Pos Malaysia can also just clear all 5 boxes under one custom clearance form (they list all the waybill/tracking numbers in the same form) meaning that you will only need to pay RM49.80 once.

How this is decided is unknown to me, this is where I always think is a gamble, maybe it is how customs pass the documents to Pos Malaysia... I really don't know. What I know is by the time you receive the form from Pos Malaysia it is too late to ask them to declare it under one clearance form. That's why I think it is not under the control of Pos Malaysia, the customs officer suka-suka pull 3 boxes and pass to Pos Malaysia or he sekali push all 5 boxes to Pos Malaysia is what I think is happening. Pos Malaysia is just a facilitator in custom clearance, I think it is the customs officer who calls the shots over there.

Looks like Kastam Malaysia is very familiar with our Lego imports by now, so many foumers here importing! And from the looks of it quite a number of us have our parcels at customs right now. hahaha! Even when I speak to Pos Laju KLIA they immediately refer to it as Lego, last time they just say "permainan"... lol!

Just got off the phone with Pos Malaysia KLIA... Another pleasant experience! nod.gif

I have 8 boxes total and 5 were presented to Customs yesterday so this morning checked and tracking status updated to "Parcel at customs at country of destination" so immediately picked up the phone and call Pos Malaysia KLIA. Thankfully the call was picked up immediately but the person I dealt with yesterday in on leave today... No problem, the person I spoke to knows her stuff and she picked up immediately where I left off yesterday with her colleague. I gave her the tracking number of my remaining 3 parcels and she put me on hold for a few minutes while she search for my parcels... Few minutes later she came back to confirm the 3 boxes are at customs, now they have to wait for customs to inspect and after that only Pos Malaysia can give me the reference number for custom clearance. rclxms.gif

I took the opportunity to ask a little about the customs clearing process and my initial hunch was right! rclxms.gif Let's say you have 5 boxes and they are all detained at the same time at customs, how many times you get charged RM49.80 handling fee by Pos Malaysia is really up to the customs officer. If the officer is very busy and he manage to only inspect 1 of 5 boxes in the morning then he will issue one custom clearance form and pass it to Pos Malaysia. Then say after lunch he comes back and managed to inspect another 3 more boxes then he issues another form and next morning he inspects the last box and issues another form to Pos Malaysia. So in total there will be 3 customs clearance forms (for 1 box in the morning, 3 boxes after lunch and another box the following day) and Pos Malaysia will charge 3x RM49.80 because they were given three forms by customs.

So I was right about Pos Malaysia being a facilitator in this process, they have absolutely no control over customs. If you are really lucky and the officer inspects everything at one go then there will only be one form and you only need to pay RM49.80.

I forgot to ask another question and that is regarding "high value" imports, last shipment I had to pay additional charges because the value is above certain amount and there is an additional form to submit/declare... Additional cost there if kena this clause...

Well, I hope this is helpful to everyone importing their Legos and getting stuck at customs. icon_rolleyes.gif

In closing I wish to praise once again the professional staff at Pos Malaysia KLIA (Customs Affairs Unit). They don't have a nice big office to work in, in fact it is next to the toilets. So far my dealings with them have always been pleasant and they are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you! thumbup.gif

Just curious how much was your "high value" import that got "VIP" treatment. So far I never kena, so you have my utmost respect o-sifu-of-importers!

Just sharing. biggrin.gif There are still gaps in the info so hopefully other more experienced sifus can impart some wisdom on this. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes. Is trackable.. I have been importing from Korea and Oz... pretty low price compared to US.... Shipping is cheaper too..
I have both set also... but no time build....
Yea... I did not use the super fast one la... I use normal parcel
*
Eh? I know Korea is cheap but Oz? I always thought Legos are expensive in Australia... I bought a few sets from Korea before but never Australia. For parts USA is the cheapest but shipping is expensive so next best is EU which is overall cheaper once you include shipping charges.

*
Agree bro, what you have is priceless! rclxms.gif That Series 10 Mr. Gold is creating quite a storm, I'm on the camp that condemns this marketing approach. Just stick to the standard 16 minifigs is good enough already...

And the rate TLG are churning the CMF series is crazy! IMHO they should only release one series a year, at the rate they are going late comers will either miss out on the earlier series or have to pay a hefty premium for it... Not healthy.

QUOTE(kaneshiro21 @ Apr 17 2013, 04:48 PM)
just notice this while checking amazon.com, look for Lego Space Vermin Vaporizer 70704

Under "Origin" it's Imported (China).

Does that mean Lego sets is now starting to made in china ??  hmm.gif
*
TLG have been manufacturing Lego parts in China for some time under contract manufacturing arrangement, and if memory serves me right I read recently that TLG will officially setup their own factory in China to cater for the growing Asian market. Nobody knows for sure yet if this new factory is making Legos just for Asian market or as part of their global supply chain. I read in Brickset that EU and USA consumers are hoping that the made in China Legos for Asian market only, apparently they've been complaining for years about the poor quality of Lego parts coming out of China.

Thanks all for the advice. I got my package finally today. The package has reached my hometown since 18th March 2013, but no notification slip has been sent out. Called up posline, as advised by some of the members here and guess what, the local poslady called and asked me to collect the package. So from my experience, what i can say is:

a) Call the local post office and check whether your item is there or not
b) If not, call posline at 1-300-300-300 and lodge a report

Here's some pics:

just sharing biggrin.gif

I was a bit poison by train set when i saw a review of set 6399 airport shuttle monorail in Brickqueen's youtube channels..

the price for used set is > RM1500 in BL..which not yet including shipping..  icon_question.gif

so i search for the instructions and parts thinking to MOC copy it just like what i did with batman tumbler..

after several days of searching in BL & calculating, found out the details as below..

Number of parts:  760 pieces..most of the importants parts only can be found in EU country..example 2684c01b = motor

user posted image

Stores to get the parts:  4 stores  = 1 german, 1 austria, 1 france & 1 US

Total price without shipping:  RM925  sweat.gif i think after adding let say RM50 per store total will be around RM1300

Most expensive parts : 2671 Monorail straight which cost RM60 per piece and need 5 of it  rclxub.gif  = RM300
user posted image

and 2670 : RM15 per pieces and need 8 total RM120
user posted image

Still thinking whether to proceed MOCing or just buy the set..but price is too pricey for me..maybe not a one shot buying all the parts..  unsure.gif

Me: Yes, dear. You want to see some cool Lego sets?

She looks at my iPad and sees the Imperial Star Destroyer.

Wifey: Ooo, that’s an ugly spaceship!  ohmy.gif
Me: But dear, that’s an iconic Star Wars ship. Some more it’s a retired Lego set and very expensive. I have one, shall we build it together?  wub.gif

She gives me a strange look…  vmad.gif

Wifey: How much is the set worth?

I go to brickpicker website on my iPad to show her. Big mistake!   doh.gif

Wifey: Wah, it’s worth so much ah! Why don’t you sell some of your Lego sets and then buy me a diamond ring? The Star Wars ships all so ugly lah! If you build them don’t you dare display them in our nice living room!   vmad.gif

If you keep hiding your UCS collection from wife pretty soon you run out of desk space in your office! lol!

Don't want to keep everyone waiting in suspense for the price of 10240. I'm waiting confirmation on the shipping weight but here's my guesstimate:

10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter ~RM950-1000 this is including shipping + tax

I don't think there will be a limit on how many I can order, it's just a matter of whether supply is enough to cope with demand... Seeing that everyone is so low on ammo these days (including yours truly) I doubt many will join this bulk order.

Its RRP is $199.99 at Lego Shop Online USA and available from 4th May.

My supplier claims he is getting his on 2nd May. I'm targeting this bulk order to be the first lot of UCS X-Wing to reach Malaysia so some of us gets to have the bragging rights! brows.gif
