It's hard to say, some sets stays in production longer than others. Ultimately it is a business and marketing decision Lego has to make... Some decisions may baffle us but I'm sure they have their reasons... I think usually minimum 2-3 years depending on how successful sales are... The decision UCS B-Wing is puzzling.

I think 10188 Death Star is either already EOL or going to be end of this year. The lot I bought was suppose to be promotional price before it goes EOL...

The Red Cargo Train is not so common and it is priced much higher than 7938 and 7939, maybe that's why it is not so popular and Lego decided to chop it. Looking back now, the months leading up to its retirement prices has come down by 30+%. If only I knew it was going EOL I would have ordered more!

Choo choo fans may want to keep in mind that 3677 was released in 2011 while both 7938 and 7939 were released a year earlier in 2010. My bet is 7938 will be the next train set heading for retirement, another indicator of this is Amazon UK slashing prices on this set. I have mentioned many times before, IMHO 7938 is the cheapest way to get hold of Power Functions components. If you plan on adding power functions to your Maersk, Emerald Night or Horizon Express then I suggest you buy two sets of 7938: Transfer the Power Functions to another train and then combine two sets of 7938 to make a longer train! So take advantage of the Amazon offer(s) before its over!

I have until December to save up for my B-Wing... I was reading up on the UCS Millennium Falcon early this year and it seemed back then there were no takers for the set and retailers have loads of them. Right before going EOL retailers slashed prices and some guys were lucky enough to pick up a few at a bargain. Look at the prices now! The B-Wing will definitely not generate that sort of interests like the MF but I personally like it very much as a display piece.

Ah! Lovely set, I have it too. The cheapest seller for this set in BL is located in France (BL store name: Chiwal's Shop), have you tried asking this seller for a shipping quote? I think shipping from Europe for this set can be around 20 Euros depending on which country. Actually the shipping charges from USA that you quoted earlier was also not bad given the size of this set, downside is USA is very far and shipping will take longer if it's not priority.

Me no big crazy Star Wars fan either but iconic pieces like this I like!! lol!

The feeling is mutual, I also didn't like the locomotive in 3677 on first impression and that's why I bought 7938, 7939 and Maersk. However, after owning the other trains naturally I wanted more and 3677 was the next target. And really it isn't that bad once you get to take a good look at it, more so if you get to caress the box! And even until now, Emerald Night failed to catch my fancy. The only reason why I'm getting a little "itchy" to get it now is because you guys are poisoning me!!

Yup! The switching tracks in 7939 is very useful, maybe get two sets of 7939 for your layout. I have 6 switch tracks and it is an overkill right now until my city grows a little bigger! lol!

Ok la... I try to hunt for you guys. What is the ceiling price going to be? Is RM750 ok? Early this year my friend and me bought 2 sets from Korea, including shipping was under RM700. I forgot exactly how much... Nearly two years ago I bought at RM450 only... hee hee

Lucky the Maersk box is not big like the other train sets but it is still heavy. (just shy of 2Kg)

Customs won't stop it, I used to import for my personal consumption too when it was not so easy to find here. Now I just buy from Viewnet in Low Yat Plaza, a guy there used to give me special price but he left recently... I like the glitters and pink edition. Batteries can look nice too!

There is also a "Lite" version specifically designed for remote controls, I bought heaps of those for all the remotes in my house. (don't use regular batteries anymore) I also use the Eneloop Lite for my Power Function remote. Plus point of Eneloop Lite is that it can be recharged even more times than regular Eneloops....

No la, you still need to take the batteries out to recharge them unless you buy the more expensive rechargeable PF battery box. lol!

Actually they are very flexible, I don't have a membership but my friend send a snap of his membership card so everytime I need to buy something I terang terang tell them it is my friend's card and flash the photo in my phone to them and they give me 10% discount.

Don't need to "buy" the normal one, it is already included in the set! lol! If you are too lazy to remove the batteries from the battery box then you upgrade to the rechargeable version.

I'm not having much luck with Emerald Night but I found 12 sets of Maersk Train!

Nobody reply me if RM750 ceiling price is ok or not... This is going to be Community Service and I will publish the details for all concerned to see but I need to know if the price is ok otherwise I won't waste my time and the sellers time to take this further...

As a follow up to my earlier post, I bought my 8x AA blister pack (3 tone pink edition) from Viewnet @ Low Yat Plaza for RM65. This is the price after discount, I think the sticker price is RM109 or RM89...

Personally I prefer Eneloops over other brands, it is more consistent and stable. I have a smart charger and have lots of Eneloops, I can see from my charger that the Eneloops are as good as new even after many charge cycles...

Just be careful there are many fake Eneloops out in the market, the same goes for other brands too. Buy from reputable shops to minimise chances of being conned, if it's too good a deal then please be extra careful!

Ok, at least I have two votes to work on. Ideally we can get 6 peeps to join this order then we can optimise the shipping, the seller says can fit 6 sets in one box. Alternatively, the seller also has a few sets of 8043 Motorised Excavator, I can't remember who here was hunting for it though.... The price should be around RM900 I think... (just a guess) So another possible combo is 3-4 sets of Maersk + 1-2 sets of 8043 should keep the price within range...

And some developments on 10194 Emerald Night, found 3 sets with a different seller asking for 200 Euros each (including shipping). I may take one set, so two up for grabs! Import tax and Misc charges not included...

So these are the numbers for those who are interested to chew on.... If you think it's a go then I will move this to my bulk order thread to create a name list and take it to the next level with the sellers. Cheers!

Yup! Bear in mind it does not include other charges, just the cost of the set + shipping... Tax will be 10% while the misc charges will be around RM80 for the entire order...

Most probably around RM900+, if RM1100 will mean I make a healthy profit from it! So that's the estimate price lor... Final cost will only be known once cleared from customs, no profit element involved, not even credit points! Lol!

From my experience shipping from Germany is very fast, so far I always receive within 2 weeks. In fact my first order from Germany was for 3 sets of Green Grocer, I was very inexperienced back then so I opted for the cheapest shipping method - surface mail. It was dirt cheap for a parcel that size but the trade-off is surface mail is suppose to take something like 30days, I wasn't in a hurry back then and all I wanted was the best deal. I was surprised to also receive it in 2 weeks plus! But the condition of the parcel is like having gone through a war zone... lol!

So if your parcel already in transit for a month you have reason to worry.. There is still hope as it may have been accidentally diverted to other countries but Germans don't usually make mistakes like this. I also hope you get it soon, I'm still waiting for my parts from Russia that is in transit for 2 months already!

Yup! Just point the remote at the train, press either direction and off it goes! Turn the speed dial and it will maintain at whatever speed you selected, no need to keep holding and pointing the remote.
