Some decisions may baffle us but I'm sure they have their reasons... I think usually minimum 2-3 years depending on how successful sales are... The decision UCS B-Wing is puzzling. QUOTE(hades4eve @ Apr 29 2013, 08:16 PM) Nice... 7965 I grab before it EOL... Any idea when DS will EOL? Its been around for quite some time already... Say.. 4 years already? I think 10188 Death Star is either already EOL or going to be end of this year. The lot I bought was suppose to be promotional price before it goes EOL... |

QUOTE(paanjang16 @ Apr 29 2013, 10:03 PM) I have not seen much of the Red Cargo Train. It is as if the red cargo train is some exclusive sets which is not carried by normal retailers. Funny to see it discontinued before it even show up here. Atleast the B-wing showed up in LLM, but I find it baffling that it too will be discontinued so soon. Must be due to the terrible sales of the B-wing. Maybe it is an indication to get a B-Wing since it will be discontinued? The Red Cargo Train is not so common and it is priced much higher than 7938 and 7939, maybe that's why it is not so popular and Lego decided to chop it. Looking back now, the months leading up to its retirement prices has come down by 30+%. If only I knew it was going EOL I would have ordered more! Then the EOL of Monster Fighters. No surprise there since it had a good run. But our local distro really screw up the supply of the haunted house here. I did managed to get a HH, but it was one long wait for it to arrive here. Has it appeared in LLM even? Choo choo fans may want to keep in mind that 3677 was released in 2011 while both 7938 and 7939 were released a year earlier in 2010. My bet is 7938 will be the next train set heading for retirement, another indicator of this is Amazon UK slashing prices on this set. I have mentioned many times before, IMHO 7938 is the cheapest way to get hold of Power Functions components. If you plan on adding power functions to your Maersk, Emerald Night or Horizon Express then I suggest you buy two sets of 7938: Transfer the Power Functions to another train and then combine two sets of 7938 to make a longer train! I have until December to save up for my B-Wing... I was reading up on the UCS Millennium Falcon early this year and it seemed back then there were no takers for the set and retailers have loads of them. Right before going EOL retailers slashed prices and some guys were lucky enough to pick up a few at a bargain. Look at the prices now! The B-Wing will definitely not generate that sort of interests like the MF but I personally like it very much as a display piece. QUOTE(vip @ Apr 29 2013, 10:22 PM) Ah! Lovely set, I have it too. The cheapest seller for this set in BL is located in France (BL store name: Chiwal's Shop), have you tried asking this seller for a shipping quote? I think shipping from Europe for this set can be around 20 Euros depending on which country. Actually the shipping charges from USA that you quoted earlier was also not bad given the size of this set, downside is USA is very far and shipping will take longer if it's not priority.QUOTE(manutd1003 @ Apr 29 2013, 10:40 PM) Thanks for the answer... LOL make me thinking to buy Millenium falcon or not... I am not a star wars fans but MF is just too awesome... Me no big crazy Star Wars fan either but iconic pieces like this I like!! lol! I'll try to hunt for it here in KL, anyone know if it's available in Tesco Mutiara Damansara?QUOTE(mystique_nw @ Apr 29 2013, 11:51 PM) Haha *blushed* Yeah, it's not happening anymore... I still remember you were asking on opinion to do CS on 3677. Seems like it not gonna happen . Personally I don't find the 3677 locomotive as attractive, I prefer 7939 loco. But in term of the cargo and railtrack accessories 3677 are a lot better. But I really love the usefulness of 7939. I can take the power function out and put it on other set. It has Switching Tracks. MOC the carriages. Reuse the loco as "second head". I need switching tracks since husband + I planning to do parallel tracks, so 7939 will serve lots of purpose. The feeling is mutual, I also didn't like the locomotive in 3677 on first impression and that's why I bought 7938, 7939 and Maersk. However, after owning the other trains naturally I wanted more and 3677 was the next target. And really it isn't that bad once you get to take a good look at it, more so if you get to caress the box! Yup! The switching tracks in 7939 is very useful, maybe get two sets of 7939 for your layout. I have 6 switch tracks and it is an overkill right now until my city grows a little bigger! lol! QUOTE(scoop7 @ Apr 30 2013, 12:05 AM) I'm going to resist these train poison. Need my bullets to complete my SW collection. Missing 3 more sets only - must stay on target Haha! QUOTE(witchesareevil @ Apr 30 2013, 10:16 AM) Ok la... I try to hunt for you guys. What is the ceiling price going to be? Is RM750 ok? Early this year my friend and me bought 2 sets from Korea, including shipping was under RM700. I forgot exactly how much... Nearly two years ago I bought at RM450 only... hee hee Lucky the Maersk box is not big like the other train sets but it is still heavy. (just shy of 2Kg) QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Apr 30 2013, 10:17 AM) Both got pros and cons. I don't know if it's safe or not. Or stop at M'sia Customs. Or what. Just try. yeah... The AAA I'm getting the latest, normal white colour 3rd gen HR-4UTG at 1.2V 800mAh, up to 1800 recharge. Not the black XX 1.2V also, but 950mAh and 500 recharge only. Guess I don't need the extra Amp, since I'm planning to mod the bigger battery pack. There is also a "Lite" version specifically designed for remote controls, I bought heaps of those for all the remotes in my house. (don't use regular batteries anymore) I also use the Eneloop Lite for my Power Function remote. Plus point of Eneloop Lite is that it can be recharged even more times than regular Eneloops.... QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Apr 30 2013, 10:54 AM) No la, you still need to take the batteries out to recharge them unless you buy the more expensive rechargeable PF battery box. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Ditto! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Ditto again! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « And Ditto again! lol! This is the price after discount, I think the sticker price is RM109 or RM89...Thanks for the info Did not buy anything from oversea through postage before and I'm always thought that US is more expensive than Asia since US is further than Asia... I have a smart charger and have lots of Eneloops, I can see from my charger that the Eneloops are as good as new even after many charge cycles...Just be careful there are many fake Eneloops out in the market, the same goes for other brands too. Buy from reputable shops to minimise chances of being conned, if it's too good a deal then please be extra careful! QUOTE(yhlee12 @ Apr 30 2013, 11:59 PM) glad that this arrived safely Wow! QUOTE(scoop7 @ May 1 2013, 01:38 AM) QUOTE(witchesareevil @ May 1 2013, 04:41 AM) Sorry take so long to reply this. I'm at the office now still, working night shift. Ok, at least I have two votes to work on. Ideally we can get 6 peeps to join this order then we can optimise the shipping, the seller says can fit 6 sets in one box. Alternatively, the seller also has a few sets of 8043 Motorised Excavator, I can't remember who here was hunting for it though.... The price should be around RM900 I think... (just a guess) So another possible combo is 3-4 sets of Maersk + 1-2 sets of 8043 should keep the price within range...RM750 looks okay to me if including shipping because I found some at around 600+ exclude shipping in Bricklink hiho. Please bring some good news bro Jason! Somehow I'm attracted to this Maersk line, probably because of the color. I found one ship, very old one and I think it can floats. But the price is And some developments on 10194 Emerald Night, found 3 sets with a different seller asking for 200 Euros each (including shipping). I may take one set, so two up for grabs! Import tax and Misc charges not included... So these are the numbers for those who are interested to chew on.... If you think it's a go then I will move this to my bulk order thread to create a name list and take it to the next level with the sellers. Cheers! |

QUOTE(zemperor @ May 1 2013, 06:33 PM) Yup! Bear in mind it does not include other charges, just the cost of the set + shipping... Tax will be 10% while the misc charges will be around RM80 for the entire order...QUOTE(hades4eve @ May 1 2013, 06:39 PM) 200 Euros? So if we factor in the import tax and misc charges... it would be like RM900+ or perhaps RM1100? I am interested for the Emerald Night.... but do pm me a rough estimation perhaps? Most probably around RM900+, if RM1100 will mean I make a healthy profit from it! QUOTE(Caryane @ May 2 2013, 11:53 AM) Hmmm... Have you tried check via Pos Malaysia? I hope you have insurance. From my experience shipping from Germany is very fast, so far I always receive within 2 weeks. In fact my first order from Germany was for 3 sets of Green Grocer, I was very inexperienced back then so I opted for the cheapest shipping method - surface mail. It was dirt cheap for a parcel that size but the trade-off is surface mail is suppose to take something like 30days, I wasn't in a hurry back then and all I wanted was the best deal. I was surprised to also receive it in 2 weeks plus! But the condition of the parcel is like having gone through a war zone... lol! So if your parcel already in transit for a month you have reason to worry.. There is still hope as it may have been accidentally diverted to other countries but Germans don't usually make mistakes like this. I also hope you get it soon, I'm still waiting for my parts from Russia that is in transit for 2 months already! QUOTE(vey99 @ May 2 2013, 12:35 PM) Wow! That's really a good price! QUOTE(mryellow19 @ May 3 2013, 05:23 PM) Initial plan is to setup the tracks to build a city. On the West is the Western town (Lone Ranger setting) and on the East is the modern city (City and modulars sets). Then Passenger Train tracks will connect to the Train Constitution tracks and will travel to both ends. Of course additional tracks are needed hahahaha. Then on the North side is where the Space shuttle/Airport/Harbour is set up to portray the transportation available. Finally on the South side is the country style living setting (creator house sets). Good plan! It's going to be a huge layout and soon it will not be in the middle of your living room but rather your living room will be in the middle of it! Then again, it's only a plan and still a while more before I can execute it fully. But I might just build the Train Constitution this weekend cause the end result really looks awesome!! |

QUOTE(mryellow19 @ May 3 2013, 05:52 PM) Lol I realized it's really gonna be a huge layout so might dedicate a room just for Lego display hahahaha. Before that gonna need to plan and draft out everything hence it will still take a while more before the plan can be executed hahahaha. Hmmm I don't mind sitting in the middle of the displays holding a remote control controlling the trains around hahahaha (If you guys watch Two and a half men) When it's all done please invite me over! I wanna sit in the middle with you and see the trains going round! It will be so cool if the trains can fetch drinks and snacks from the kitchen and deliver it to the living room.... QUOTE(scpt @ May 3 2013, 05:55 PM) the train remote, how does it work? Yup! Just point the remote at the train, press either direction and off it goes! Turn the speed dial and it will maintain at whatever speed you selected, no need to keep holding and pointing the remote. I don't suppose we have to point the remote at the train all the time for it to be moving? It's just like a TV remote for on/off and probably speed control right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
