Isn't that what I'm doing? I post this morning to relay the news of the availability of the X-Wing knowing this is a highly anticipated set. Ok so maybe posting a guesstimate price wasn't such a good idea but that's just for public information. I don't see that as trade.

I'm also very mindful of posting trades here. I'd love to see more MOC like yours than to always see discussions of upcoming sets etc.

Anyway, I'm just annoyed with everyone and everything today...

I'm going to work on my MOC project and make myself feel better and stop stepping on people's toes. Lol! Gd night folks!

I don't frequent TRU 1-Utama much but based on past visits they normally have exclusives there. And yeah it is always hiding inside the kiddies play area. I remember when UCS R2-D2 was released they had the shelves filled with it! That could happen again with the upcoming UCS X-Wing so keep checking that place and update the forum if you come across it! If you are hunting for exclusive sets chance are good at TRU 1-Utama.

You should send a shopping list to your mum and sis Down Under, that way they can hunt for your sets when they are on sale! Regular prices are expensive but during sales season (which is now) there are plenty of good deals to have.

I also recently got poisoned by Diagon Alley, now regret not picking it up when it was going cheap... I'm not into Harry Potter so if I can find a set without minifigs cheaply I think I'll pull the trigger...

I think this is where we as a community should pool our resources together and help each other complete the series. I'm planning on bringing in a few boxes of 60 so if everyone who has ordered boxes of this we could setup a thread purely for trading/exchanging the series 10 minfigs. Mr. Gold is not up for trade if we do find it!

Yeah, there are a handful of places in the web that offers to customize your minifigs. Honestly Mr. Gold doesn't rub on me at all, it looks horrible. I think any of those customized minfigs look way better than that! If I do get lucky (which I won't) on Mr. Gold I'll just sell it and donate part of the proceeds to a charity...

lol! Well, I'm ok to have those excess, my daughter will have endless fun with it and maybe I'll also follow in your footsteps to give it out as party favours.

What I mean is those of us who has bought the 60 packs boxes, we could help others to complete the series. But like you said, we will end up with a lot of excess and perhaps not everyone is willing to do that. Maybe exchange based on 2 to 1 ratio if exchanging a common minfig with a less common minifig could be an incentive?

The feeling is like finding your present under the tree on Christmas morning!

I'm not familiar with specialty shops in OZ but I reckon the deals at those big retailers are pretty good when they slash prices. Try Myers, Target, K Mart and of course TRU.

Lol! By the time uncle turn your table all minifigs already sold out so he's doing you a favour. Fold and keep table!

I think his name is Bartek. I bought parts from this BL store too, I can vouch for him. His parts are excellent. Unfortunately my last order he sent me some parts of the wrong colour but he immediately send me replacements at no cost. Shipping from Poland takes forever though if it is on regular mail... Can take up to 4 weeks or more... When did you ordered? Maybe I'll get it before you!

Nope. Box of 30 is just as readily available as box of 60 as far as I can tell. For me anyway, the price per pack is the same whether it is box of 30 or 60. I think box of 30 is targeted at collectors who wants a guaranteed set of 16 minifigs while box of 60 is more for retailers selling loose packs... Just my guess. Sifus pls impart your wisdom.

IMHO the cheapest way to add Power Functions to a train is to buy 7938 Passenger Train and transfer the power functions parts over. The 7938 by itself is too "short" IMHO so I combined two sets together, then use the Power Functions parts for my yet to be built Maersk Train. Hope this helps to inject more poison for 7938!

Yeah, I don't remember exactly how many speed but it can really go from a very slow crawl to progressively higher speeds! It's quite fast at the highest speed setting. Tracks those bends quite well too on the standard curve tracks, with the flexible tracks you will have to brace them otherwise you are going to get a train crash!

Power consumption wise it is pretty good. I use Sanyo Eneloop rechargables on my set and they last very long. I don't use regular single use batteries anymore for the sake of our environment so I wouldn't know how those performs...

7936 stopped production in end 2011 or early 2012, I also wanted to buy more but can't get anymore at a reasonable price. It used to be the cheapest way to get straight tracks. Lucky I bought some before the prices soared...

I think 7937 will go EOL this year so better grab soon.

You should really buy the train sets first before buying add ons as they already come with quite a lot of tracks. If you already have plans for a city layout then it is a different story, you will need quite a lot of additional tracks!

In the event something went wrong and the seller has to send me a replacement part I will only leave feedback after receiving the replacement part and the issue is settled. You don't need to leave feedback at all if you don't want to but generally you do it as a courtesy to the seller, that feedback will also help other potential buyers to rate the seller.

Only 7939 Cargo Train comes with switching tracks. Only 2 pcs. Unless you have a very big train loop two switches are good enough. I have 6 switches and currently it is an overkill! hahaha!

Prices are climbing steadily and are not likely to retreat so if you really want it you better buy it now before it is out of reach...

And yeah, BIG Technics sets are amazing!
