Everybody here busy talking about connecting xbox 360 with LCD Monitor wide screen. Me so far using Xbox 360 with normal tv (Sony Wega 29 inch) only. So far the picture look nice.

But i plan to try connect my X360 with my IMAC (Core Duo) which is rarely situation i guess. I heard about Connect360 software can help with this. My IMAC is widescreen but only 17 inch.

unless your epal has VGA-in, i really don't see how you're going to use the IMAC LCD monitor with the x360.

And as for Connect360, isn't that a program to sync the epal with the 360 to play songs and pictures stored in the mac?

...or am i missing something awesome here?

edit: technically, there IS a way to play the 360 on a mac and that would involve taking the whole thing apart and hardwiring the x360 vga cable to the lcd monitor itself. If you do that...well notworthy.gif

got off the phone with Dell Support earlier...

I tell you, speaking with the morons in tech support requires alotta patience man...

I spent 15 mins speaking to 2 dumb girls and TEACHING THEM the difference between drivers and monitor revisions.

Finally they found out for me the REVA04 for the 2407 isn't in MY yet...which is no surprise to me cuz the A04 has only been out for 1 week or so in Sg...

So the usual case number was given to me and they'll call me once the A04 touches our shores (yea right, i'll prolly have to call them weekly for an update)

don't hold your breath fairpley

it's only popping up here and there in Sg and Japan and a few in US.

There were ppl who ordered after the news of ppl getting a04 and they STILL got the a03.

much like everyone is saying, they'll prolly try and clear all the a03 or sell it to as many ppl who don;t care about a03 or a04 b4 cuz they wanna reduce the cost of reflashing their whole stock of 2407 and also to reduce cost of picking up the monitors from us and sending it back for reflashing.

Dell is a pretty tricky lot.

For MONTHS we 2407 owners have been shouting at the top of our lungs for a 1:1 fix. All we got was total ignorance and the closing of one eye.

The minute benq releases a 1:1 fix for their own 24", they come in guns blazing with their own fix.

which possibly summarizes dell's policy:
"If it's broke, fix it...IF our competitors do"

disgusting.

sadly aegis, we can't flash the new revision ourselves...

you'll have to call up dell, and negotiate with them on getting a replacement...which is very difficult because they will tell you that they can only replace if there's something wrong with the lcd panel or something like that...

but i remember someone managed to replace thiers with reva04...

o i notice my revision 03 component input really sux to the core as i plan to use component for future such as the ps3 or maybe the hdmi dvi converter

anyone could tell me the 04 revision component has improved?
*
reports from around the web from users who have the a04 have said that the only visible difference from the a03 is the 1:1 fix...other than that, the component is still horribly foobared

what i wanna know, is how is the BENQ241w doing....how's the component? image quality? banding? what issues? (i read there were problems but couldn't find details...)

if the benq has better component quality, and not provide 'semi' washed out colours for vga....i'm switching to it

nope...that would be impossible...

1080p reso is 1920x1080 while our 2407 is 1920x1200...so we'll have itsy bitsy bars on the top and bottom...which i rather have than a stretchy

that's the dell 2407 which currently retails for rm2599

i was just putting my a04 replacement side by side with my previous a03...now i'm enjoying pure 1080p goodness with proper 1:1 scaling...

i can honestly say i can see a 'slight' but noticeable diff from 720p to 1080p(CSI and south park on HD is plain awesome, time to buy the hd-dvd drive)

sadly, tomorrow they'll be taking the a03 back...so today's my last day to enjoy 3840x1200 desktop goodness..lol

dell supports 1080p (aka 1920x1080)

but sometimes when u try and set the 1920x1080 through PC, you might get some mismatched refresh rate settings, hence the 'out of range' message...

i kena b4...but i can't remember wat i did to rectify it

but it really doesn't matter cuz y on earth would anyone wanna run 1920x1080 on the PC when they can have 1920x1200

I don't regret purchasing my 2407. I love it everytime I boot up the 360.

Definitely the cheapest 1080p solution out there. Cheapest but still excellent quality.
