Thank you very much! But I tot Y500 has GT650M. Why is it GT750M ad and what's the difference? And the swappable graphic card is it GT750M too?
*
GT750M is a newer generation of graphics card. rumor is that it has better performance than the GTX660M. the swappable graphics card is a GT750M too. the swappable graphics cards have codes, GN36 is GT650M, GN37 is GT750M.

Thank you very much! It really helped me a lot. biggrin.gif Anyway is it true that the price in PC fair will be cheaper than normal price a lot?
*
not really. been working at there and do some personal surveys at there, the price is just the same as the ones you saw at retail outlets. good side its just that you can get some free gifts, for some booths only.

Alright, do you have other better recommendation which can be compared with Y500? biggrin.gif
And is the latest Y500 with GT750m has SLI with it? I saw people saying GT650m with SLI is stronger than GT750m w/o SLI.
*
perhaps the Illegear RE-15 and Dell 15R. smile.gif
and of course the GT650M SLI is stronger than single GT750M. 2x cards vs 1. sweat.gif

Okay. I've check the other 2 model but Y500 is just way more stylish haha I love the keyboard. biggrin.gif
So conclusion is GT650m SLI > GT750m > GT650m right? Is it all sharing the same price so i can request for SLI when i'm going to buy..  blink.gif
*
1. yes.

2. the GT750M SLI price is the current as GT650M SLI from the past if im not wrong, maybe around RM38xx. if you buy the single GT750M, you have option to buy another graphics card ultrabay in the future. biggrin.gif

Hey guys, been looking for a tablet running full W8 for awhile..

Budget: 2k
Usage : Web browsing, viewing movies etc
Screen: Full HD if possible biggrin.gif

Just looking for a tablet with battery life comparable to the ipad or one that comes somewhere close, with a USB port. IDC about it having a keyboard dock as I won't be using a keyboard much with it.

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

Hi,
please recommend the best class ultrabook money can buy

1) Preferred brand: other's brand ok, no HP, acer, sony
2) Highest rpm of HDD and large capacity, no SSD
3) Best resolution of screen ( for photography use)
4) CPU i5 or above
5) Scree size < 14", HD
6) OS Win 7 Pro / Win 8 Pro / Win 7 pro downgradable Win 8 Pro
7) Usage: photography, programming, study, entertainment, business
8) light, <1.5kg
9) Ram 4gb or above
10) Long battery life (at least 6 cell battery or 5 - 10 hrs)
11) Graphic as optional
12) Optical drive as optional
*
with your requirements, there are no ultrabooks use 6 cell batteries, only 4 cell and less. standard laptops now only come with 5400rpm HDD, even though there are 7200rpm models. so far, i found one that suits you :

ASUS [Ultrabook] UX32VD-R3001H, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT620M + 24GB mSATA SSD + 500GB HDD@RM2999[1.45kg], 4GB, W8

Hi sifus, dilemma here, can help? thx

both ultra book...what i need smile.gif

model on dilemma : Dell Vostro 5460 i5 RM2199, Asus S56CB i7 RM 27xx

Usage: Work, Movies, abit fb gaming
Screen size: > 14"

battery - dell 3 cell vs asus 4cell

processor - dell i5 vs asus i7 ( i think the speed doesnt make hugh diff right?

screen size - i dont care, 14 / 15 good for me.

ram slot - dell 1 slot vs asus 2 slot

graphic - both should be slightly same right?

anything else ?

Was looking which is bang for buck between this 2 ?
*
best bang for buck between this 2 is the Vostro 5460. if you have conflict with single RAM slot, get the 8GB slot. for battery life, the 3 cell does a pretty good job in saving the battery life. processor doesnt help much in performance increase, so there isnt necessary for you to choose i7, unless you want to play games without dedicated graphics card.

I heard many peoples said macbook pro retina display not worth the price,is it true?

you pay extra RM1300 for the super clear resolution screen and an average SSD, so thats not worth. unless you are superb rich till whether you should burn the money or not.

Y400 with GT750M is still in pre-order stage. you cant find it at the shops at the moment.

for cooler pad, cooler master U2 is enough. smile.gif

btw lenozo z500 with Gt645M RM2299  if change to GT740M need + RM50 can buy or not?
they say will upgrade RAM to 8gb and 3 years warranty
should i negotiate price again?
*
i dont think shops nowadays offer trade in laptops, unless you are lucky to found one. if you can get RM50 for upgrading the RAM to 8GB and extend to 3 years warranty, it is not possible. you will at least need RM200 approx.

QUOTE(VI_6 @ May 12 2013, 03:13 PM)
Thanks.

I was considering m14x before, is it worth the money? the specs i73630,8gb ram, 650M ddr5 2gb, 1tb.

I want i7 and at least 8gb ram, so illegear's upgrade from i5 to i7 might make it too pricey.

I had  a lenovo before, got problem with fan, not durable enough. will be taking the new one to classes and all.

How much lowest can get for g55?  g55 and msi which is better iyo?
*
M14x is worth for its warranty service only. you pay more for better service. for the components, it is overpriced.

Illegear's i5 to i7 upgrade takes only RM229. but you dont need a too powerful CPU for gaming, unless you are into programming as compiling need better processor. for the RAM, im sure you can get a cheaper 4GB stick for RM80 if you want to save the extra RM19.

for the lenovo, excuse me to say that maybe you are the unlucky one. but i can sure that Y500 users out there arent having any problems with their laptops, even though they used it for a year (since the release of Y500 GT650M SLI). smile.gif

for the G55 and GE60, G55 is better in terms of silent and excellent cooling but sucks in warranty service. for MSI, the quality and warranty service are questionable.
best price for G55 is around RM38xx, GE60 around RM36xx

I'm going into comp science/eng. soon, can the g55 cope with that? Kind of a heavy gamer too, usually play skyrim, diablo, cod, that kind of stuff more than 10+ hours per session. This might be a silly ques, but wil the cooling, performance cope, or need to upgrade ram sommore? g55 have mSATA or not?
*
ASUS has the best cooling system among all the popular gaming laptops. AW is one more step to on par with due to its noise produced under load. laugh.gif

performance for GTX660M is quite weaker, so it is better if you can wait for GTX760M. the RAM doesnt need to be upgraded. 4GB is enough for gaming unless you are multitasking a lot. laptops nowadays do come with mSATA slot as standard, so i'd have to say yes.

I thought the GTX660M is more pwerful than AW 650M? When will the 760M ones come out though? do you expect the price to vary much?
*
no price difference even if it is new model. smile.gif
and GTX660M is yet more powerful than 650M but it is just a notable small difference.
