This is not a sale thread. Get suggestion here, and look for re-sellers at garage sales threads.

NO. RM3k get you peanuts in laptop land  icon_rolleyes.gif  laugh.gif

If you want laptop that can "play any game without any issue", you need laptop with GTX680M or similar. And these kind of machine cost > RM6k.

Y400 is only 14".

Your budget will not get you any good gaming 15" laptop (unless Lenovo launch Y500 with GT750M SLI and price it ridiculously low laugh.gif).

For your budget, go with Y400:
Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2499, 4GB, 500GB, FreeDOS, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty
Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2799, 4GB, 500GB, W8, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty
*
Y500 with single GT750M is priced at RM28xx. storm88 already has the stock and it comes with lenovo international warranty. biggrin.gif

hmm..
i thought because it do not have SSD, so it is not consider ultrabook.
*
that is a false point. lets say my lenovo y400 is fitted with SSD, then it is an ultrabook? no.

ultrabook's concept is light, thin and power efficient. any laptops with weight less than 2kg. however, lenovo Z400 is not an ultrabook. the dell vostro 5460 isnt too.

32gb mSSD and
2gb vs 4gb ram.

not much difference. just the loading speed on 1204 will be better, due to its 32GB mSATA SSD.

Hai guys,I'm sorry to appear at this thread again sad.gif
I had requested my dell refund program which cost me RM80 for the processing.
I'm now down to Illegear RE-15 and Y500 GT750M SLI,which one better? smile.gif
Budget about 4k + -
Usage would be programming and general-use.
By the way,May I know these three laptop, which has the better screen and keyboard/toucpad? smile.gif
*
both actually have good keyboard and touchpads. just that re-15 lack the cool look of a backlit keyboard while the Y500 has a cool red backlit keyboard.

sellers wont come here to quote it for you. you have to go to the garage sales section to ask the sellers. let me list down the sellers :

Viper88 - Dell purchasing agent
Mr.Docter - Illegear discount giver
Prince J - Illegear dealer

samsung's seller is pretty hard to find.

QUOTE(Sean93 @ May 5 2013, 10:42 AM)
Hi there! So i have read several previous posts and i noticed the sifus here recommend Y500 and Illegear RE15 for a mid end gaming laptops.

I have a budget of 3 to 4.5k so are these 2 the only choices?
I'd like to play Skyrim on high settings.
I'm a soon to be university student.

Is the y500 GT750M SLI coming out anytime soon? It'd be nice if i can get somemore choices.

I tried customizing the RE15 and in the end it sums up to about 4.7k 4.8k. Lots of things aren't included!

Do normal shop retailers sell Illegear or is it only available online?
*
the Y500 with SLi will be released soon as now it is in pre-order stage. you can follow up updates at this topic.

illegear is not retailing their products in shops as the customizable option is quite a lot. so it is preferred to customize and buy online. by the way, you should customize according to your usage and budget to prevent wastage. for gaming usage, you can get 1TB HDD, core i7 3630qm, windows 8 SL and 8GB RAM. thats already enough for you.

What are Alienware's perks compared to Y500 or RE15?
I'm so confused.

What would sifu recommend in the end? sad.gif
*
i would recommend alienware if you like the cool chassis design, colourful backlit keyboard and warranty service.
i would recommend Y500 if you want something more powerful, cool red backlit keyboard and budget.
i would recommend RE-15 if you want something powerful, budget and customizable.

as overall, i will choose Lenovo Y500.

Is Lenovo Y580 an older model? Why is it more expensive than y500 according to their website?
*
it is a GTX660M version without SLI option. it is more expensive because there are blu-ray options.

damn. RE15 was an option until I found out Y500 has that awesome red keyboard lighting. Hopefully the 750 SLI comes out soon sad.gif Will there be compability issues with games? How does SLI actually work?
*
Scalable Link Interface

SLI will be pretty unstable sometimes when enabled but if you keep on with the driver updates, it will be better. however, the percentage for games work well with SLI is 70%.

Haha sorry if i'm cramming you with questions. Just found out another thing. the ultrabay.

They say it's interchangeable between a fan, a hdd, and another gpu. Do these things come with the stock purchase? Or do i buy them separately?

Say i'm going for y500 750m SLI.
*
they are sold separately. according to the 3 options by storm88, one is basic, one is with GN37 exGPU and one is with GN37 exGPU and DVD-RW.

Hi, I need recommendation of laptop for my sis, details as below:

1. Preferred Brand
None

2. Budget
RM1200±50

3. Usage
Watch Movies, Internet Surfing, Documentation [Microsoft Word/Excel 2010 or adobe reader].

4. Preferred laptop/screen size
Not sure how small/big she wants, maybe standard size like 11" or 14" will do.

5. Other remarks
- Lightweight
- OS and HDD size isn't important since I will reformat it by buying a SSD for her.
- Core i3 processor if possible. If overbudget for an i3, just list down the models that has i3 on it and I think she might consider to spend a little more.

Guys,I'm sorry but I don't know which place should I ask.

I'm at lowyat plaza and hard to decide between these two cooler.

Coolermaster Notepal U2 or U3.The U3 seems like very big sad.gif A lot of here recommend U3 sad.gif What is the difference make U3 better than U2?

Beside that,I still considering between the Crucial m4 mSATA 128GB or plextor mSATA,the plextor mSATA seems expensive than crucial by about RM150 sad.gif

Lastly, any shop recommend me to go for cheaper price as I'm from Sabah,I not so familiar with the shops there.
*
Cooler Master Notepal U2
Cooler Master Notepal U3

take a look at their specs. smile.gif
if you want to buy mSATA SSD, go for crucial. plextor is fast but it is expensive. or you may take a look at intel's too.

you can find sellers at the garage sales section for delivery to Sabah if you cant find any good shops at there.
