guys..
my budget RM4000 max, what i got - intel 330 ssd 120GB

my needs
1. 15 inch
2. a-bit-fast-future-proof gaming rig
3. can tahan for 3-4 years and company still can services the laptop if got problem after 3-4 years (dont mind if need to pay)
4. can hold and maintain high load multimedia (vegas pro, photoshop, after effect, premier pro) and engineering (autocad, solidworks, mathlab) software..
5. can be bulky, NOT an ultrabook
6. dont care the ram coz i'll max it according to the processor  brows.gif
7. battery life dont need to high,3 hour max if can

im consider 2 option..pls tell me which one u prefer and why

1. y500 i7-3630QM+GT750M SLI+msata 120gb ssd (for OS)+1tb HD (i will sell trade/sell my ssd 120gb to get msata 120gb ssd due to only 1 slot for HD and 1 msata slot)
1.1 might consider Y510p i7-4700MQ+GT750 from ajul (trader for y510p) if can use ext GT750 from y500..can r? or when will y510p SLI come?

2. illegear re-15 i7-4700MQ+GTX765M +1tb HD+ my intel 330 ssd 120GB for OS (coz got 2 slot for HD and 1 msata slot)

15.6"
MSI GT60-2OE, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GTX675M + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM4299,8GB, 750GB(7200rpm), W8, backlit keyboard

Price is in RRP, negotiable. I think it wouldn't be too hard to nego until less than RM4k for a notebook of this price range laugh.gif

guys..i cant find MSI GT60-20E..just GE60-2OE with GT765M..
so after reconsider, 2 choice now

1. MSI GE60-2OE, i7-4700MQ+GT765M details here pro-2 years warranty,backlit KB,good build quality,4 USB,more feature; cons-expensive
2. Illegear re-15 i7-4700MQ+GTX765M pros- got 3 slot RAM,cheaper; cons-no backlit,cheaper build quality..

and in terms of reliability & service, which is better? illegear or MSI? tend to use the laptop for 3-4 years..

Hi sifus, could I please have some recommendations based on my preference below:

1. Preferred Brand - any reliable brand
2. Budget - up to RM2.5k
3. Usage - Ms office processing, multitasking, movie & music, minimal gaming, touch screen for Windows 8 (preferably i5 processor)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14-inch, not too bulky, but with ODD

Have managed to identify two models so far: Acer Aspire V5 471PG and Dell Inspiron 14R (with touch screen). Appreciate your thoughts on this as well - couldn't find many reviews since they are relatively new.

Cheers.

Good day sirs, if i may, could anyone here recommend me a laptop to buy under these preferences:

1.Brands :- non specified (better specs the better also have good cooling)
2. Budget :- sadly cry.gif below RM 2k
3. Usage :- Mostly gaming, i enjoy High graphics games (like Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Assassin Creed, etc)

Lenovo
Z400 touch, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2399, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty
[Ultrabook]S400T, i5-3337U + AMD HD 7450M@RM1999[1.8kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8

Can consider the Microsoft Surface RTs
10.1"
Microsoft
Surface RT, Nvidia Tegra 3 + 32GB SSD + (1366x768; touch)@RM1549[680g]; WRT, 2GB
Surface RT, Nvidia Tegra 3 + 64GB SSD + (1366x768; touch)@RM1849[680g]; WRT, 2GB

Though I think your mum might have difficulties familiarizing with Windows RT as well since it its not similar to the usual Windows hmm.gif

3. Usage - light gaming, photoshop, VM ware
4. Preferred laptop/screen size -14/15

what is the advantage of Lenovo Y410 over Y400. Can we install SSD(if so will installing a SSD for the price difference matter).

Between Y410/Y400 vs MSI GE-60 which is better?
