Z400 will be a better deal but keep in mind that the thinness of the Z400 can trap heat + back cover is quite hard to disassemble, for cleaning and upgrading purposes.

I don't think there are any gaming hybrid covertibles in the market  hmm.gif
If non-gaming one then perhaps can still consider this:
15.6"
Acer
R7-571-53338G1T, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000+ (1920x1080 IPS; touch)@RM2999[2.4kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8

Thanks for that.
It does caught my attention last time, but i prefer a 14" over 15.6" but it is still acceptable to me.
But is it available in Malaysia already? I do not saw any1 selling it when i try to google for it.
Im gonna check out the demo unit to check on the hinge flex.gif

light and skinny laptop, during to space constraint, could not incorporate very good ventilation / cooling system, so if ceteris paribus, then it will obviously run hotter than normal laptop.
That's why most skinny laptop should use ULV CPU and go full SSD smile.gif

For your old laptop, maybe get a technician to have a look, clean dust from air inlet / outlet and internal cooling fan, reapply thermal paste as well.

You don't need powerful laptop for your usage. Good audio is tricky. Law of physic dictates that laptop speakers suck laugh.gif (need space to generate proper bass). Suggest you go out and listen to real unit to see if they are "good enough" for you  icon_rolleyes.gif

Asus
K46CB-WX060H, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[2kg], 2GB, 750GB, W8, 4-cell, OD

Lenovo
S400, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 24GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM1999[1.8kg], 4GB, W7HB; AMD HD7450M/W8@RM2199
S400T, i5-3337U + AMD HD 7450M@RM1999[1.8kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8

Prices are RSP, negotiable.
Personally, maybe this has a better speakers than those models above:
HP
Envy4-1238TX, i5-3337U + AMD HD8750M@RM2099[Beats][1.75kg], 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8

thinking of buying alienware 14..will be used for heavy-gaming..but curious about its cooling solution..will there be any problems regarding heat? i mean like overheat / system temperature gets ridiculously high during gaming..

All notebooks will get hot when under load i.e. gaming. Only those not maintained properly or have malfunctioned cooling systems will overheat and auto-shutdown.
But if you are worried about tempratures, always go for larger notebooks, which in this case, the more common 15 inchers.
15" notebooks have more space for heat dissipation, are relatively cheaper for the specs, and has more workspace, but all at the expense of portability.
So in the end it depends on what you are looking for icon_rolleyes.gif

The AW 14 is a great choice if you are gaming on the go, but then there are other alternatives as well in this category icon_rolleyes.gif

Made a thread yesterday asking about recommendation here https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2867302&hl=
and someone show me this thread rclxms.gif

1. Preferred Brand - (any reliable brand)
2. Budget - RM1600-RM2000
3. Usage - Home use, Watch movie, Do work , best graphic for games
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - screen size not too big, and definitely not a fan of mini laptop, also big space in Harddisk thumbup.gif
